2026 KENWORTH T380 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2026 KENWORTH T380 has 0 complaints and 7 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to exterior lighting and electrical system functions according to recall data, though no formal complaints have been recorded.
Seven recalls affect various systems including exterior lighting, lighting control modules, and instrument cluster functions. Most recalls involve software defects that impact hazard lights, instrument panel brightness adjustment, headlights, and axle position controls.
- Lighting control module software. A defect in the software may cause hazard lights and instrument panel back-light brightness adjustment to fail. This issue compromises FMVSS 101 and 108 compliance and can increase crash risk due to inoperative hazard lights and difficulty reading the instrument display.
- Hazard light switch failure. The exterior lighting switch may fail, preventing hazard lights from operating properly and impacting driver alert systems.
- Instrument cluster malfunction. The instrument cluster may not allow brightness adjustments, making safety information harder to read or causing driver distraction.
- Headlight illumination delays. The tail brake light, upper and lower beam headlights, reverse light, and turn signals may not illuminate as intended leading to reduced visibility while driving.
- Lift axle position issues. Lift axles may revert to a raised position unexpectedly or oscillate when signal warning lights activate, potentially increasing injury risk.
All recalls require a software update by dealers at no charge. Notices were mailed to owners in 2025 and do not include a "Do Not Drive" or "Park Outside" advisory. Contact information for Kenworth and Peterbilt customer service is provided in recall notifications.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Kenworth T480, T680, T880, W990, Peterbilt 520, 536, 537, 548, 567, 579, 589, 2025 Kenworth T180, Peterbilt 535, 2025-2026 Kenworth T280, T380 and L770 vehicles. The tail brake light, upper and lower beam headlights, reverse light, and turn signal may not illuminate as intended. In addition, the lift axles, if lowered, may revert to a raised position, or oscillate up and down when the signal warning lights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment."
Risk: Delayed and unsteady headlights can result in insufficient illumination of the road, decreasing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an unexpected position change of the lift axles may increase the risk of injury.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HAZARD FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS:SWITCH
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2025 Kenworth T180, Peterbilt 535, 567, 2025-2026 Kenworth T280, 2023-2026 Kenworth T380, 2024-2026 Kenworth T480, 2024-2026 Peterbilt 536, 537, and 548 trucks. The exterior lighting switch may fail, resulting in the hazard lights and the instrument display back-light brightness adjustment not functioning. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment."
Risk: Inoperative hazard lights cannot alert other drivers as intended. In addition, the inability to adjust the brightness on the instrument panel display can make it difficult to see critical safety information or distract the driver. Both scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
