The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a center brake light that fails to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.

Risk: In the event of a crash, if the front seat belts fail to lock, there is an increased risk of injury.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Risk: The lingering rearview image can distract the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Even though that helped for a few years however it did not resolve the problem. It was still occurring just not to the same degree. Currently I have tried to reach out to the dealership to look into the problem and the dealership refuses as the car or the part is not covered under warranty. However not enough time or mileage has passed for the car to not be under warranty. The dealership and the FCA refuse to help. This issue is very serious! It common with these models of Jeep wranglers and are life threatening.

The dealer determined that the instrument panel cluster needed to be replaced, and the dealer confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired, and the manufacturer had not been notified of the failure.

My 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 2.0 liter turbo engine has had two failed “Rear Axle Assemblies or differentials” within 3 years of each other. The first time was in July 2022, and my service repair order says rear Diff replacement. Now this time, my dealer is saying we need the whole rear axle assembly which is on national back order. No current ETA for delivery, with no additional info other than none are even in production at this time. Since my vehicle is under warranty for another 4,000 miles or so, I would like to use Stellantis warranty for my repair. However, They are no help and are saying we cannot order a different OE part, or a used part. The vehicle is unsafe to drive as I can feel my loss of control especially on wet roads in Florida. After searching the internet I have found this is a common problem with the sport, and Sahara versions from 2018-2025. Now that we can’t even get replacement parts, it creates a whole other set of problems. I would like to mention everything is factory on my Jeep and I have never been off roading. Not even once. So 2 failed rear axles is just unacceptable.

SERVICE BRAKES

The front left (drivers side) caliper stuck and the the brake line needs replaced. The caliper sticking was causing extreme heat that could have caused a fire as well as brake failure. The dealership confirmed that the parts need replaced. No warning messages were ever appear. Additionally, the left brake line from Mopar is not availalbe and there are almost a 1000 on back order. The Jeep is not drivable and no parts available for the foreseeable future to fix the problem.

The problem has been inspected by a mechanic and he indicated that the Instrument Panel Cluster would need to be replaced at a cost of close to $2,000. He indicated that there was a recall on 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler models involving a safety issue with the IPC and that it may experience a short circuit and fail, potentially causing the display to go blank and hindering the driver's ability to see critical information like speed and warning lights. Recall# 24V652000 indicated this failure could increase the risk of a crash. Per the mechanic recall info was sent October 2024 yet I did not receive anything. There is no burning smells. are no issues such as rough gear changes or engine issues. It states the clutch is overheating and I’ve barely left the driveway. And this is after sitting still overnight Didn’t the recall fix this issue? It’s terrifying as it comes up stating that the transmission needs to be service then all information as to what gear you are in disappears while you are driving. This isn’t a recall fix it’s a nightmare. It wasn’t having a problem before but now it warning messages act like it’s going to burn up. There is NO burning smells no rough gear changes. I have been a loyal customer of Krietz Auto since I purchased my vehicle from them in 2020. Recently, I brought my truck in due to a loud noise coming from under the hood. I was told the rear differential needed to be replaced. To my knowledge, there were no other major issues at the time. After the dealership had my vehicle in their possession for over a month, I was shocked to receive it back in far worse condition. Upon picking up the vehicle, it could not idle without overheating. I attempted to drive home with my young child in the vehicle, only to realize it could not travel over 30 miles per hour without the temperature spiking dangerously high. Tragically, the vehicle has now completely broken down and is no longer drivable. I am being forced to have it towed to another repair shop at my own expense. What was originally a routine service appointment has now escalated into a situation that has left me without transportation and has put the safety of both myself and my child in serious jeopardy. This level of negligence is unacceptable. I trusted Krietz Auto with my vehicle and my family’s safety. I now fear the damage was either worsened or created during the time the vehicle was in their care. I am respectfully requesting that this situation be thoroughly investigated and immediately rectified. This is no longer just a service complaint — it is a matter of public safety and accountability.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

POWER TRAIN

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the interlock brake system had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that on another occasion, while her husband was driving 25-30 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality and the engine seized. The contact stated that the gear shifter failed to function as intended and there were several warning lights illuminated. The contact's husband was unable to pull over to the side of the road. A Police Officer assisted with traffic control. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then towed to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Instrument Panel Cluster Failure: My instrument cluster failure has been an unrepairable issue for my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara which I purchased from Marysville Jeep in Marysville, Washington back in 2021 or 2022. It's been well over at least a year that I have been forced to drive this vehicle where I am unable to know my fuel level, mileage, or speed. I have had my Jeep at the West Hills Autoplex, Chrysler/Jeep Dealership, Auto Center Way, Bremerton, Washington, TWICE for this very same instrument panel cluster failure, and to date, it remains UNREPAIRED. My vehicle is at the same dealership NOW as we speak and has been there since 23 April 2025. I have not had the use of my Jeep for the duration of this time. The time before that, they had my Jeep for about 2 weeks and did not repair the instrument cluster. My associate at the dealership name is Colin. He's constantly informing me that they ordered the cluster but they have not received it because my vehicle was made in Canada. I also saw online that a recall has been issued for certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, including the Sahara, due to potential instrument panel cluster failure. The recall number is 30B. I looked for this recall using my VIN on the NHTSA website, but it showed no recalls for my particular vehicle. However, I have this exact same problem with my Sahara. Colin informed me on 5 June 2025 that he has exhausted his last avenue to figure out why my Jeep still has a failed instrument panel that has not been repaired/replaced since 23 April 2025 and to basically come pick up my jeep or call someone else to help remedy this issue. Also, in between the two times at the dealership, I took it to a repair shop who tried to order the cluster but could not get it, because the dealership is the only entity that can order the cluster. Calibers keep locking up making the brake system go bad. I had my calibers replace, which is weird because they almost never go bad. My jeep has only 60k miles on it. Now I'm back at the dealership getting them replace 200 miles later. This needs to be inspected.

ON MAY 10 2025 THE INSTUMENT PANEL STOPPED WORKING, NONE OF THE GAGES WORK. NOT ABLE TO DETECT SPEED, GAS, TURN SIGNALS ETC. TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER, WAS TOLD THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE CARS COMPUTER. HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY THE DEALER. NO WARNING, EVERYTHING ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER JUST SHUT OFF.

The contact pulled over to the side of the road and became aware that the third reservoir tank was empty. The contact waited until the engine had cooled down, added coolant, and then continued driving the vehicle. The contact became aware of coolant leaking around the water pump. The dealer was informed of the failure however, the contact had not heard from the dealer. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My steering wheel will lock up while driving, my windshield wipers start going off, spedometer goes to zero and won't work, the gas light goes to completely empty and won't move, when I push on the gas it won't go, my engine light goes off and starts saying service module and lists several different things. When I put it in park it won't shift into gear so I can drive it. I have to turn it off and back on several times until it will finally let it go into gear. I have tried to get it fixed and they said the ABC module needs to be replaced but it's been on National back order for over a year and can't find one available. I'm trying to find even a refurbished one and have not been able to.

ABS module has failed, according to dealership. The car has been in the service department at the dealership four times now in the past month. All of the warning lights go on, the car drives sluggishly, and I am told the car is undrivable due to the potential loss of brakes. We are having continual issues with the visors on our Jeep where both the driver and passenger visors fall out of their mounting brackets. Not only do they impair vision, but the drivers one has caught in the steering wheel and almost caused a crash. Please note this vehicle is used solely for highway use and has never been off road. I spoke with the dealer and they said this is a known issue and recommended I purchase 3rd party aftermarket clips on Amazon or alternatively they could replace the whole assembly for a significant fee.

The vehicle started to have braking issues where the brakes would sometimes apply both front brakes or one one front brake causing the vehicle to swerve erratically when braking. Sometimes the right front brake would also stay applied for extended periods of time causing the vehicle to pull hard and the braking system to overheat so hot that I burned my fingers on the tire rim after parking the vehicle and inspecting. The Jeep has been at the dealership for repairs for over 7 months under warranty and they don't know how to fix the vehicle and are not willing to replace it! This is a massive safety concern that should make everyone think twice before buying a Jeep when the brand wont even take care of there customers!

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

Body: Paint around door hinges is bubbling. Vehicle was purchased new in 2019, vehicle is not near salt water or driven in, harsh offroad conditions. Vehicle has been garaged daily since purchase and has 44,000 miles on it. Electrical: Instrument cluster reboots and blanks out and speedometer stops working while driving. This vehicle was not included in previous recall #FCA 30B, but the symptoms are identical to that recall. Vehicle has been taken to the dealer who has offered no insight as to what the problem may be. Dealer was shown a video of the problem happening while driving. The attached photo is taken from a video of the cluster while driving. Both the main battery and the Auxiliary battery were replaced to see if that was an issue, it was not.

Vehicle has been taken to the dealer who has offered no insight as to what the problem may be. Dealer was shown a video of the problem happening while driving. The attached photo is taken from a video of the cluster while driving. Both the main battery and the Auxiliary battery were replaced to see if that was an issue, it was not.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

There is an active recall that was issued back in October 2024 for jeep wranglers 2018-2024 with the IPC (instrument panel cluster) going completely black. My jeep currently has this issue, I cannot see my fuel level, speed, odometer, oil and engine temps or any other vital information when driving. When I search my VIN number my vehicle shows I do not have any recalls even though the jeep has the exact problem shown in the recall.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster flickered and failed to function as needed. In addition, the contact stated that the instrument cluster displayed a black screen. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. In addition, the contact stated that the failed part number was PN: 68377789AD. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.

The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with instrument panel internal circuitry. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System); but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 58,000.

POWER TRAIN

Driving on interstate 35 south in fifth gear. There was a loud BANG! and then we lost power. Barely made it off a tight overpass and we saw the smoke. The car was quickly on fires we got out as it started to engulf the jeep with flames. It was a total and complete loss - and very dangerous.

Sun visors on driver and passage side pop off while driving. They are not held in position due to faulty parts and cause a hazard while driving because they swing uncontrollably while in motion. Not safe. Dealership has not helped with this hazard. Ive researched and this is a wider issue with other jeep owners all experienced the same driving hazard.

SUSPENSION

When driving over 55 + jeep shakes violently also does the same when going in reverse. Rollover warning ⚠️ light is constantly on warning me not to drive over a certain mph. Diagnostic test came back as faulty suspension.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My central instrument gage cluster has gone black, not being able to see important safety information and car notices. I can't see car info such as milage , fuel, safety warnings, tire information etc etc.

STEERING

In two separate incidents (six months apart) and without warning, the Jeeps power steering suddenly failed. An indicator warning did come on but not prior to the failure in both instances. In both situations, I was attempting to exit very busy highways and little to no control over my vehicle. Some time after I had exited the highway, the Jeeps powering steering suddenly came back on. When I returned home, I had the vehicle inspected at the dealership both times and they were unable to determine any reason as to why the steering would have failed and without warning. Without an identifiable and fixable problem, I am very concerned about my personal safety and the safety of others on the roadway in the event that this should happen again without warning.

ABS module went out in July of 2024, after being replaced in February 2024. Jeep does not have any of the parts available, the same part was recalled for the Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500. My jeep has been unable to drive since the part malfunctioned.

The Module Steer in the steering wheel has failed in my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was a grinding sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that there were shards of metal inside the rear differential. The contact was informed that the rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

I have not taken my car to a dealer yet since I am waiting for the new part but I saw that there was a for notifying that jeep wranglers from 2018-2020 had this specific issue yet my vin has no recalls.
