Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate, causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.

Risk: An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with the 3.0L EcoDiesel engines. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.

Risk: Combustion in the intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Risk: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Accessible Technologies, Inc. (ATI) is recalling certain ProCharger Superchargers, model numbers AB037A-100, AB037A-100P, and A037A-100B, sold for installation on 2012-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and SRT vehicles. The supercharger mounting bracket may contact and damage the ABS line, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.

Risk: A brake fluid leak may lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Motor making a ticking noise, brought to dealership and was told the camshafts are destroyed and there is metal throughout the rest of the engine. 90881 miles on the car.

POWER TRAIN

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the vehicle jerked, and the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. In addition, the contact stated there was an abnormal sound coming from the power train. The message "Transmission Overheated" was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle stalled. Additionally, there was an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the gear shift lever failed to operate as intended. The message "Transmission Overheated" was displayed. The contact waited until the transmission had cooled down and the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was able to drive to the residence, but was driving roughly. A mobile mechanic arrived at the residence and diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact parked the vehicle out of safety concerns. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 181,000.

The vehicle eventually failed start and was towed to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. At my destination I turned the car on 3 times. Started with out a problem. Got on the road headed back home. At the same spot, the car shut down again for the 3rd time. Dash again stating I need to "shift to park". This is the very dangerous. I had the car towed to the Jeep dealership & there it is waiting on a diagnosis as to what is wrong with my Beautiful 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Please find a way to fix this issue. When I was driving onto the high way my jeep just cut off and I couldn’t accelerate only steer doing 45 mph with cars behind me and I saw on the dash a message “ shift to park. And then put into Desired gear” well it was on drive D and I couldn’t put it in park until I completely stopped at this point I had a guy pull over next to me and called me jerkoff because he thought I was trying to brake check him , I explained to him what happened . Well once I did this I got moving , but it happened again latter on that day when I was almost home . I dont feel safe driving it anymore

The front passenger seat Active Head Restraint activated while driving on a smooth, rural road, with no traffic, and no impact with anything. My wife was in the passenger seat and was forcefully hit when the headrest deployed. There were no warning lights and no issues which would have warned us of this deployment. The vehicle has been maintained by the dealership since new. I have an appointment with the dealership for the warranty repair. on June 12 2025.

Pass. side active head restraint deployed unexpectedly. Dealer replaced part under “warranty extension x88”. When I contacted Jeep manufacturer: 1-800-334-9200, I was told the manufacturer will NOT replace the driver side head restraint until it self deployed! An accident waiting to happen! My wife and I travel a lot, pulling a travel trailer, so I now have a fear that this active head restraint will also self-deploy. SHAME on the manufacturer. I won’t be considered an “acceptable risk”. Please help me convince the manufacturer to stand by their warranty. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission was slipping. Additionally, the contact stated that the transmission failed to shift into park(P) intermittently. The transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the transmission was replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. No further information was available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

The PTU and transfer case have the same issue outlined in this recall “Safety Recall W47 / NHTSA 20V-343 PTU Input Spline” My vehicle misses the covered manufacture date of the this recall by 1 month but has the same problems.

The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while making a U-turn at approximately 4 MPH, there was an abnormal sound from underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the "Service 4WD" warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact received help from a co-worker who checked the vehicle and informed her that the driveshaft had fractured. The contact was able to turn the vehicle off but was unable to shift the vehicle into park(P). The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the driveshaft had fractured due to a failure with the PTU in the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the driveshaft had been replaced one month prior to the failure by the same mechanic. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that there was a known failure under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V343000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I purchased a used 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I only drove the jeep for 2 days and the check engine light came on. On the way to the mechanic the jeep overheated. I was left on the side of a busy road and put in a dangerous situation. When I made it my mechanic shop, the mechanic explained the 3.6 engine has repeat issues with overheating! I now have a vehicle I cannot drive. Why has there not been a recall if this is an issue for many with this engine?

Lost power(ability to accelerate) while jeep was still in drive. I had to switch to neutral and back to drive to regain power. This happened 2x in the past 3 weeks. Jeep felt slightly rough driving about 5 miles leading up to incidents. If this happens in certain driving conditions there is great chance for accident. Both times it happened, I had been at a stop light, then accelerated 5 to 15 miles per hour. Please recall my vehicle.

SUSPENSION

Driving at approximately 20 mph on a busy highway, when accelerated to do a lane change, my vehicle did an extremely aggressive jolt and I can hear my engine struggling. I managed to move over lanes to the closest center divider and when i tried to put my car on "Park" it did not shift, it was stuck on drive. I had to apply the emergency foot break and turn off the vehicle. I quickly turned it back on and then i was able to shift to park. As i was being escorted by CHP to the right divider, the vehicle would jolt at the touch of the accelerator. I was unable to accelerate and the mechanic is saying my transmission gave out. No prior symptoms, no warning of any issues. The check engine light came on after the first jolt. The vehicle is currently in the mechanic shop. I'm being told that i need a new transmission.
