The electronic shifter goes out of gear showing a long line with no gear letter while I am driving. I have to hurry and put it in a gear. It has done that while driving at a fast speed and a low speed. It scared me when I was on the highway going between 70 and 85. At first I didn’t know what to do whether to apply brakes or shift back in gear. I couldn’t apply brakes because someone was right behind me so I grab the shifter and push the button and put back in drive. That happened to me about three or four times going to work on a busy highway.

Last year while driving my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the headrest collision system went off for no reason, hitting me in the back of the head. Luckily I did not lose control of the vehicle and there was no collision or injury to myself. It was very scary, but I maintained control of the vehicle. I went to my local Jeep dealer Pembroke Pines Jeep Auto Nation at 13601Pines Blvd Suite A Pembroke Pines, FL 33027. They told me it was a known issue and the service person made an appointment for me later that week , at which they replaced the headrest at no cost to me under a recall service bulletin issued by Jeep/Stellantis. The same thing happened last week while driving, when the passenger side headrest activated for NO reason, this time striking my wife in the head. I went back to the same dealership. They told me that this headrest is no longer covered under the warranty which has now expired in April of 2025. and would cost $800 to repair. They told me to call Stellantis and see if they would cover the repair. I went home and called Stellantis, whose customer service agent advised me that he was going to escalate my concern to his supervisor. I got a call today and they told me that my car is not covered by any warranty and that I would be responsible for the repair. My car VIN number does not fall under the recall which has expired. He also told me that Stellantis is not responsible for the repair and he should ask the dealer to see if they would possibly split the cost of the repair with me. This could of been a very serious situation, had I lost control of the vehicle as a driver. I looked further online and in Jeep owners club forums and this seems to be a common problem with Jeeps and Dodge Durangos, both owned by Stellantis. This is a clear and dangerous safety issue!

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had gone to the dealer three times for the recall repair before experiencing a failure with the vehicle; however, the part was not available for the recall repair. While awaiting the repair, while the contact's wife was driving approximately 60 MPH, there was a clanking sound coming from the engine compartment. The sound progressively grew louder. There was no warning light illuminated. On the fourth visit to the dealer, the vehicle was diagnosed with engine failure, and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that parts were on backorder and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

The headrests on both my drivers and passenger side popped out. This seems to be a reoccuring issue with Jeeps and it happened while I was driving. The airbags have not been deployed and I was not in an accident. They will not go back in and Jeep wants $750 to replace each as they are not covered under a recall.

Component/System Involved: Active head restraint (headrest) – deployed without cause. The component is available for inspection upon request. I also have photos documenting the incident. Description of Incident: On August 6, 2025, at approximately 5:40 PM, while driving home from work at around 35 MPH, the driver-side headrest deployed suddenly and forcefully, striking the back of my head. There was no sudden braking, no impact, and no vehicle in front of me. The deployment was completely unprovoked and occurred under normal driving conditions. Safety Risk: This unexpected deployment posed a serious safety risk. It could have caused me to lose control of the vehicle and potentially crash. I am currently experiencing neck and upper back pain as a result. Reproducibility: The issue has not yet been inspected or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, as it occurred just last night. Inspection: The vehicle and the headrest component have not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning Signs: There were no warning lamps, messages, or any other symptoms prior to the failure. The deployment occurred without any indication or cause.

I am writing to report a malfunction in the active headrest deployment system in my vehicle. While driving, the passenger’s side headrest unexpectedly deployed without any indication of an impact or collision, posing a potential safety risk. My wife was in the seat at the time when the unit deployed jarring her head forward. Upon my investigation, it appears that the one of the failure points were internal plastic components. This malfunction caused the headrest to deploy randomly, despite there being no collision or triggering event. While the headrest is designed to deploy during a rear-end collision to prevent neck injuries, its unintended activation while driving can cause discomfort, distraction, or even injury, especially if it occurs suddenly. If this happened during an emergency maneuver or while driving at high speed, it could also interfere with my ability to maintain control of the vehicle. At this time, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. However, I believe a more thorough inspection of the headrest system, and perhaps the vehicle’s onboard diagnostics, could provide insight into the issue. There were no warning lamps, error messages, or other noticeable symptoms prior to the headrest deploying unexpectedly. This malfunction occurred without any prior indication of a problem. The deployment was a sudden event while driving, with no alerts or warnings beforehand.

I was driving down the highway to work and all of a sudden my headrest came apart and hit my head. I was able to get pulled over but was stunned with what had just happened. - Incident: Passenger seat headrest deployed without reason. Upon looking it was identified that the small plastic headrest clips spontaneously broke on their own (no accident). Car is parked in the garage every day. The headrest was normal when vehicle was parked. The headrest was found deployed when the car was utilized the next morning. - Available for inspection upon request. - Issue appears to be a well known problem for Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles when looking online, yet no recall noted on my specific Jeep Grand Cherokee. - Safety: had this deployed while someone was in the car it could have caused injury. - No warning lights or other notifications before or after headrest deployment. - Jeep has never let me know about any headrest recall or potential headrest issue though all services have been done through their service departments.

This is in reference to recall #Z46/NHTSA 22V-406 On June 11 2025 I had my Jeep at the dealer for an unrelated problem. The next day when the dealer called me to let me now that my Jeep was ready they mentioned they preformed the high pressure fuel pump recall. I figured no big deal, no additional trip to dealer for the recall. After getting my vehicle home I looked in to what exactly was done as part of the recall. I also found the instructions for the work to be done and the parts to be replaced as part of this recall. The dealer only preformed part of the recall, they replaced the pump the filters and left the label pack in an envelope in the vehicle. When I called them the next day to ask why the additional parts were not installed they said that they do do that part of the recall for no contaminated vehicles. In the instructions for the recall it states numerous times that the high pressure fuel lines are one time use and to discard and replace the lines. In their own service instructions for high pressure fuel lines or whenever the lines need to be removed for a repair the fuel lines are to be replaced. I have had to pay for fuel lines in the past on a repair that required removal. So my question is are dealers required to replace one time use parts only when the customer is paying? same for the EGR tube and gasket. This recall was serious enough to cause a nation wide stop sale order on all dealer stock. the dealer that did this work is West Valley Chrysler Jeep Dodge 4174 West 3500 South West Valley City UT 84120 (801) 955-0872 Any help with this would be appreciated.

January 2, 2025 - the front passenger seat belt failed to retract. Since we always use the seatbelts when in our vehicle, we have not had anyone sit in that seat since. There were no warning lights, messages or hint of a problem prior to this failure. January 30, 2025 took the vehicle to the local Jeep dealer to have the problem looked at. Per the service order, seat belt was inspected using X90 instructions and it failed. Replacement part ( 1VL06DX9AG) was ordered and I was told it would be 2-4 weeks before the part would be available. February thru early May I would visit the local Jeep dealer, as well as other Jeep dealers I may drive by, to see if the part was available and I was told it was backordered and the waiting list for it was growing. May 28, 2025 - Jeep dealer service rep called me to say that it was still back ordered with no idea on when part would be coming in. Until repaired I remain unable to use the front passenger seat.

On the highway my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel briefly stalled and the check engine light came on. I then lost all power and could only maintain a speed of 45MPH in a 70MPH speed limit highway. I turned on my flashers and could not get off the road due to construction and Jersey barriers for several miles. When I had the opportunity I pulled off the side of the road and called to have my vehicle towed to a service facility. I was informed by the mechanic that scanned my car for trouble codes, a P0336-00 was set in my PCM. The mechanic informed me that I would have to take the vehicle to a Jeep Chrysler dealer. This is apparently a known issue with 2014 to 2018 Jeep Grad Cherokees equipped with the 3.0L diesel engine including RAM 1500s of the same vintage with the same diesel engine installed. The specific problem is that the crank shaft tone wheel is not read by the crankshaft position sensor because of degradation to the tone wheel which is connected to the crankshaft. I have complied with all safety and emission recalls. Related: RC-RW68-20 Safety Recall W68 Transport Canada 2020-371 Loss of Crankshaft Position. Requires the replacement of the Tone wheel. Issued 02/11/2021. RC-RW58-20 Safety Recall W68 Transport Canada 2020-371 Loss of Crankshaft Position. Requires PCM Software update for Loss of Crankshaft Position. In lieu of the Tone Wheel failing, the computer uses the Camshaft Position sensor. This is only designed to not disable the car completely but allow the driver to pull of the road. P0335-00 or P0336-00 wil be set and a check engine light will illuminate. My vehicle was not included in the NTHSA Safety Recall and it should have been.

The drivers headrest spontaneously exploded while we were driving and hit the driver in the back of the head and created a loud gunshot noise that startled us. When we stopped to inspect the headrest, the plastic clips that held it in place had snapped. We were not in a collision, nor did we hit any significant bumps. His head was not even touching the headrest when it occurred.

After a very long road trip, I noticed that the rear wheel well liners had come in contact with the rear tires. The contact was severe enough and prolonged enough to wear down the edge of the tires to the cords. Once I noticed the damage, I stopped driving the vehicle until I could get new tires. I do not have the tires but I took pictures and the wheel well liners still have a hole in them. Had I not noticed the damage, a catastrophic failure of the tire could have resulted with unknow consequences to myself or those driving near me. The wheel well liners did not come loose or detached from the vehicle. They somehow flexed forward and made contact with the tire. The tire/wheel did not flex or move rearward. This would have required major damage to the suspension of the vehicle and the vehicle would have been undrivable. My assumption is that with the very wet road conditions, the wheel well liners became very flexible but not enough to contact the tires. At highway speeds, due to the air flow around the vehicle, it appears that the lower quarter panels flexed inwards. This allowed the now flexible wheel well liner to flex forward, due to air pressure behind the wheel well liner, and make contact with the tire. Tire tires involved are not the stock make and model but were the stock size. I will be adding a small aluminum strip to the bottom of the wheel well liner to prevent this from happening in the future.

My driver seat headrest popped out while I was driving and hit the back of my head rather hard. It startled me and thankfully I was able to keep control of my vehicle. After investigating the issue, it is visible that the clips that hold the pressured headrest in place are broken. Jeep dealership said it is not a warranty issue and not a recall issue. It should be a defect issue for replacement. No warning lamps went off, no beeping prior to hit happening. Also, a few months later, the passenger headrest did the exact same thing. Nobody was even in the seat. I was driving and I heard a pop sound and looked over at the headrest protruding from its frame. Sure enough, same problem. Something broke inside of the headrest and I am unable to press it back together. One headrest doing it may not be an issue; however, BOTH headrest doing it while not being involved in hard breaking or an accident is not acceptabe.

Below are the series of events. The reason for this report is related to item number 6. I have attached pictures. I contacted the manufacturer about this and they said that it was made like this from the plastic moulding, but I inspected the seat prior to install and these marks were not there. 1. I bought the seat on November 30, 2024 2. I installed it in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee on December 17, 2024 3. I could not get the leveling ball in the correct location for a rear facing install with a 25lb baby. I had a zoom call with Evenflo and she was unsure as well and said to send pictures and she would pass along. I did so on this same day and did not hear back. 4. The seat remained installed in my car, but unused by my child as I had not heard if it was safe. 5. On December 26, 2024 I decided to try an install of the seat forward facing to see if it would work for my older kid. I could not get the shell on the base in forward facing position and after not hearing back overall felt like the correct decision is to return it. 6. I got the shell off and noticed stress marks on the plastic where the belt path is. This seems incredibly dangerous, and it had never even had a kid in it. These marks were not there when I purchased the seat. 7. I initiated the return. The point mentioned in (6) seems of high concern for the safety of this seat.
