The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the vehicle jerked, and the transmission unexpectedly shifted into neutral. An unknown warning light flashed on the instrument panel. In addition, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact waited for a few minutes. The vehicle restarted and the vehicle functioned as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. However, no cause for the failure was found. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V447000 (POWER TRAIN). However, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure recurred, and the vehicle was parked and no longer driven due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Jeep recalled the oil cooler as it can crack and cause leaking into the coolant yet the problem still persists. This can be inspected on my vehicle at any time. Jeep is claiming that since it was “repaired” (recalled) this is a customer problem. I have been quoted over 10k to fix a problem that was never correct from the recall Jeep performed. Jeep has failed in this recall remedy and are pushing customers to fix repairs as a result of their failed actions. Failed oil coolers can cause the vehicle to catch fire which could burn down someone’s home if the car catches fire while parked in a garage or structure. The nearby Jeep dealer called and confirmed that the issues I am currently having is a result of the cracked and recalled replacement oil cooler. There are countless number of people online how have also had the same issue and been told by Jeep and dealerships that this is now a customer responsibility because they provided a “warranty” in addition to the recall. The warranty is a result of a class action law suit against Jeep for emissions issues. I did not and do not have any warning light on my vehicle. I just had evidence of coolant leaking with a coolant smell when in front of the vehicle.

I purchased a used 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. The seller claimed the mileage was around 76,800 at the time of sale. After the purchase, a vehicle history report (Carfax/AutoCheck) showed that the actual mileage was approximately 223,000. This means the odometer reading was rolled back or misrepresented. The title paperwork shows a false mileage disclosure. This problem puts consumers at risk because the true condition of the vehicle is hidden, making it unsafe to rely on maintenance records or expected performance. It is also a violation of federal odometer laws. The issue has been confirmed by the vehicle history report, and all documents are available for inspection if requested.

Engine light came on: took in for service. The dealer recommends replacing a damaged Intake Manifold for $2,247. 33. It appears there are recalls on these for same year as my vehicle involving both Jeep and Ram Trucks. However My vin does not fall into the recall? I find this odd and I understand there has to be a cut off, but i believe my vehicle was made around the same time and I don’t think Chrysler was aware of the problem until later… I also have Engine Oil cooler leaking which I am unsure if it is related, but now I have extensive repairs for Coolant flushing/ radiator hoses and coolant hoses, metal fuel lines, and thermostat… I am just disappointed that a recall is valid on the same model and year as mine, I was unaware and now I have a $8,570.40 quote to get this fixed. I am wondering if the EGR cooler failure has led to this massive problem as I am aware the engine oil cooler and EGR cooler are releated along with manifold function/ efficiency. Now I have Oil and coolant mixing in my system… If my eco diesel jeep were included in the original recall, I may not be dealing with this unexpected visit. My TCM (Transmission Control Module). Yes. While driving my jeep kept shifting into Nuetral all by itself and I would have to shift back into Drive. This is going into my jeep dealer on 8-5 and put on the diagnostic test. It was only checked out by plugging in the meter and this is the code that came back. Has not been inspected by police, insurance, Jeep dealer as of yet until 8-5-25. Yes it went from shifting g into Nuetral by itself to Slow g down on its own and it happened most recently on a major interstate with an 18 wheeler behind me and almost rear ended me. As I gave it gas it wouldn’t go I rolled to side of road. This was the 5th time this happened to me. It all started back in beginning of July. The check engine light came on.

The contact owned a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, multiple warning lights illuminated. The contact noticed smoke emitting from under the hood. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and immediately exited the vehicle. The contact opened the hood and flames were visible. In addition, the electrical throttle illuminated, and the temperature gauge displayed it was hot. The fire extinguished on its own. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed and informed the contact that the wires were damaged by the fire up to the location where the starter was located. However, no cause for the fire was found. The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the vehicle was sabotaged. The vehicle had unknown electrical work completed on the vehicle. However, the vehicle failed to start. Most recently, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle's mileage was 224,495 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage on the title was 26,270. The insurance company was not notified. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 225,585.

The engine and powertrain are affected by a defect described in Safety Recall 66A / NHTSA 23V-411 (loss of crankshaft position). Despite the recall software update being performed, my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to display Diagnostic Trouble Code P0336 (Crankshaft Position Sensor Performance). This issue causes intermittent stalling, hard starts, and loss of engine power, which creates a serious risk of crash if the vehicle stalls while driving. The safety defect described in the recall — tone wheel magnetic material delamination leading to crankshaft signal loss — is still present. Two diagnostic reports (one from an FCA-authorized dealership and one from an independent mechanic) confirm the presence of DTC P0336. The Service Manager at the dealership agreed this is likely recall-related but said FCA corporate must authorize hardware repair. FCA (Case #93427994) has refused to approve full repair, leaving the safety defect unresolved. The defect has been confirmed by the dealership and independent service center and persists despite the software reprogramming remedy. Warning lights (check engine) are active and the issue is repeatable.

I am reporting an unresolved safety recall issue on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (VIN: [XXX] ). On February 1, 2025, I brought my vehicle to Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep (3470 Boulder Highway) after being informed that the driver’s seatbelt retractor was part of a safety recall and needed replacement. I was initially told the replacement part would arrive within 10 days. However, more than five months later, the seatbelt remains unrepaired. My wife and I have called the dealership multiple times—she called five times and I called once. Each time we were promised a follow-up call when the part arrived, but none was ever made. On June 9, the dealership told us a new part order had been placed 2–3 weeks earlier from a new supplier, and that the sales associate Armando (“Mondo”) would follow up. No update was provided to me directly. On July 9, we were told the part was ordered again and messages were left with Mondo to contact us, but as of today, no one has reached out. Throughout this process, I have felt dismissed and the safety of the non-functional seatbelt— which hangs limp and offers no protection—has not been prioritized. I never received an official recall notice from Jeep, and I am left with a vehicle unsafe to drive with no clear timeline for repair. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in addressing this ongoing safety concern, as the dealership has failed to resolve the recall in a timely manner and the delay poses a significant risk. Complaint to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Subject: Vehicle Sold by CarMax with Open Recall Campaign Z46 in Violation of Stop-Sale Order Dear NHTSA, I am reporting CarMax for selling a vehicle affected by Recall Campaign Z46 (NHTSA ID: 22V406) in violation of the stop-sale requirement. In November 2023, I purchased a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Diesel from CarMax while it was still subject to this recall and the part needed for repair was on national backorder. CarMax failed to disclose the open recall or the serious safety implications. As a result, I experienced significant engine and DEF system problems and incurred over $3,800 in related expenses. The vehicle was eventually repossessed, and I had to borrow nearly $2,500 to recover it. In addition to these costs, I experienced credit score damage and emotional stress from the situation. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this dealer for violating the federal stop-sale order and endangering consumers by releasing a recalled vehicle without remedy or disclosure. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving on the interstate suddenly my jeep switched gears I was able to put back in drive and pull over. After pulling over and jeep being put in park it wouldn’t go back into drive, after 3 attempts turning car off and back on again it finally shifted to drive. I was able to at least get home and put it in garage. It now will not go into reverse at all, I try frequently, this happened a few months ago, I also called and reported issue but was never told I had to get online and fill out a form etc. I can’t afford to pay for this big of a repair. It seems this issue has occurred on several 2014 jeeps. This was extremely scary and unsafe to say the least even more so with my kids in the car. I hope I can get this taken care of and finally have a vehicle again. Please email [XXX] or call me at [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The component in question is the rear drive shaft. It has been losing speed as I travel on roads and the highways. When accelerating from a stop sign or red light, the vehicle seems to not want to move. It takes a few seconds for the computer to realize the car is in motion. Once it picks up speed, there are three (3) knocks that occur. It makes the vehicle jerk hard and sway sometimes. The next component is the transfer case. It puts the four-wheel in progress to be shifted. The four-wheel drive makes a popping noise when the vehicle comes to a stop and is shut off. It continues to keep shifting from two-wheel to four-wheel to two-wheel without even using the controls. While pulling out from a car lot, I made a right turn. The vehicle acted as if it did not want to go, and the front end started jerking and making a popping noise. Also, when riding on the highway, the front end shakes terribly. My safety was at risk because the vehicle acts up while pulling into traffic or riding on the road. Sometimes, I have my grandkids in the vehicle with me. They are my most precious packages when they ride with me. The problem of the drive shaft has been confirmed by a dealerships service department, my mechanic, and the mechanics of the dealership I purchased the vehicle from. Has not been inspected by the police, insurance reps, or the manufacturers. There were times when the service message for the four-wheel drive came on. It was an issue trying to find a place to do the service.

My truck was affected by the fuel pump recall brought it to the dealership to have it performed was told fuel pump was bad and contamination occurred was told they will repair the truck as part of the recall. 3 weeks later received a call truck was ready but gave a code for temp sensor that was not covered by recall had to pay $500 for the repair I authorized and was told part was out of stock for a week. after the part was installed i was told the car was ready all codes were cleared and car was good to go. Meanwhile the truck was not road tested after all the repairs were completed. I picked up the car friday 4:30pm went home and the truck lost power again and check engine light and lightning bolt came on. dealer was closed had to tow it to them for them to look at Monday. Got a call stating they retightened everything and told me to come get the car. Meanwhile car was not road tested again! picked up the truck and again after 50 miles same thing again check engine light and loss of power brought it back to the dealer and was told that need to do a cleaning of the engine but to drive the truck and see how it goes. took the truck went to work around 90 miles on the highway smoke starting coming into the cabin truck lost complete power and almost caught fire!! vehicle was in NY had it towed to the nearest station until we speak w dealer to arrange for it to be towed back to CT. Spoke w dealer next morning and was told they have an affiliated dealer in NY to have it towed there and they will look at it. Took it to Manhattan Jeep and was told the dpf sensor had melted and they needed to replace it. Part was on back order for a week. Had them replace it after replacing they told me the truck is still not running correct. Statting that the honeycomb in the dpf was broken and needed to be replaced along with the catalyst converter! all this was done due to the recall not being performed correctly!!! and not be road tested after replacing fuel pumps, fuel rail, fuel injec

Mechanic says it’s the electronic transmission module,it tells the transmission what gear to shift into. I read complaints that their Jeep will shift into N or other gears going down the highway. I had a recall on the dash of my Jeep due to the leather wrinkling.I had very slight wrinkling, so I honored the recall and took it to the dealership. They replaced the leather which seemed to fix the problem, well WRONG, they put the leather down with no adhesive to keep it in place. Long story short, it began having some puckering in the middle, now the whole dash looks like a wrinkled bed sheet and its totally lifted along the bottom of the windshield, which has caused my defrost vent to lift out of place and resricts airflow. This resricts my visibility when the defrost cannot blow accurately. I took it back to the dealership to show them, and to tell them that it's worse than before I brought it to them, and if I had've known this would happen, I would have left it alone! I showed them that they Obviously didn't put adhesive under the leather, the just laid and tucked it! They said they couldn't repair it. I took it to get it assessed and as soon as he saw it, he said "This was OBVIOUSLY installed Wrong!"

Without incident or warning, front passenger seatbelt will not retract, pull out or lock when jerked. Inspected 1/13/25 by Capital CDJR, Garner,NC 919-582-0202, found to require replacement per Mopar Warranty Bulletin#D-21-04 dated 3-24-2021. Service Advisor and Parts stated that seatbelt is on NATIONAL BACKORDER, can't be ordered and no ETA can be provided, although my name was added to "the list." Please note that this Warranty Bulletin was published FOUR YEARS AGO, yet parts remain unavailable. Online research indicates this safety failure was investigated by NHTSA and caused Mopar to extend seatbelt warranty coverage. Without replacement parts sourcing, without ability to order, without an ETA, the situation still exists without resolution. When will this become a priority? Thank you.

My Jeep eats up thermostats too often. I have had it for 3 years and had it replaced 4 times. The last time , one year ago, it took the repair shop a week to finally install one that would hold. It needs it again. I also smell something burning when I accelerate onto the freeway since owning it. My engines fan runs high aIl the time also. I read many complaints online about people having overheating problems and temp fluctuations In the same year vehicle. This seems to be an issue and I can't afford to keep paying to have the thermostat replaced yearly. Last time last year they replaced the radiator with it since melted rubber around thermostat could of gotten into radiator cogging it. This jeep seems to be a lemon with all that has gone wrong since I bought it. I feel this issue needs to be looked into. I dont feel safe driving it anymore specially with the burning smell I get when I accelerate onto the freeway. It almost smells like wiring but not sure. It not a distinct smell. I entered only one incident that occurred with this issue as one is all I could submit. A few days ago was the recent but 2 more besides that. Thank you

The car keeps overheating. I received warning lights for the sensors to check the no flow indicator. In August I took to a mechanic and paid 1200 to have a hose repair for the cooling system. Lights went out for 4 days and problems again causing the car to completely shut off on my way home and I live in Volcano ca mountains no phone service and was stuck until morning. The car just says no flow wipe sensors. No car does not start without overheating quickly
