Recalls
  • Electrical system and ECU software. Recall 24V818000 affects 105,276 vehicles. Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier cause the Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU) to malfunction or stop working. This may reduce or disable safety systems such as Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collision Mitigation System, increasing crash risk. Dealers will reprogram the ECU software at no charge. Owner notification occurred December 16, 2024.
  • ABS warning light malfunction. Recall 23V370000 covers 59,684 vehicles where the ABS indicator light fails to remain illuminated during a malfunction while the vehicle is in motion. This violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121 and prevents drivers from being alerted to ABS issues, raising crash risk. Software updates will be performed free of charge. Owner notification was expected July 24, 2023.
  • Battery cables overheating. Recall 22V546000 affects 8,483 vehicles. Battery cables connecting to the vehicle frame may overheat and cause battery post separation. This can cause injury during maintenance and result in engine stalls without warning, increasing crash risk. Dealers will replace and relocate cables at no cost. Notifications were sent beginning September 26, 2022.
  • Battery ground cable failure and engine shutdown. Recall 21V079000 involves 27,457 vehicles. The battery ground cable ring terminal may break at the frame connection, causing a loss of electrical power and unintended engine shutdown without warning, potentially causing crashes. Dealers will replace the cable free of charge. The recall started April 16, 2021.

Owners dealing with repeated repairs, unresolved safety defects, or recall-related issues may have rights under their state’s lemon law. They should consider consulting legal counsel knowledgeable in automotive consumer protection laws.
