2025 INFINITI QX80 Complaints and Recall Information
The 2025 INFINITI QX80 has 2 complaints and 12 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report a sunroof explosion without apparent cause and an airbag non-deployment issue during a crash despite substantial vehicle damage.
Common Issues
- Sunroof explosion. The sunroof shattered unexpectedly while driving, though a sunshade protected passengers. Repairs were performed by an Infiniti dealer.
- Airbag non-deployment. In a collision where another vehicle caused the crash, the airbags in the QX80 did not deploy despite extensive damage. Officers at the scene noted the airbag failure.
There are 12 recalls affecting various vehicle systems, mostly related to visibility and software functionality. The recalls address defects that impair rearview camera displays and infotainment system performance.
Recalls
- Back over prevention software (24V747000). 5,176 vehicles recalled for software causing rearview camera to freeze and show a blank screen in reverse. The defect reduces rear visibility, increasing crash risk. Dealers will reprogram the software at no cost. No drive or park outside advisory issued.
- Infotainment software (24V748000). 37,236 Rogue and QX80 vehicles recalled due to a software error causing the rearview camera to display a blank screen when reversing. This affects compliance with rear visibility standards and raises crash risk. An over-the-air or dealer update will fix the issue free of charge. No drive or park outside advisory issued.
- Back over prevention system (24V748000). Same recall as above affecting the rearview camera and rear visibility. Covered under the same fix and vehicle count.
Owners with repeated repairs, unresolved recall notifications, or defects related to safety systems may have protections under state lemon laws. They should consult legal resources for guidance on rights and remedies.

A lady driving a Honda Fit pulled out in front of my wife while she was driving her Infinity QX80. My wife was driving about 40-45 MPH at the time of the crash. The driver at fault in the Honda Fit I noticed all air bags deployed. My wife's QX80 had none of the air bags deployed. The officers at the scene were shocked to see the amount of damage to my wife's QX80 while not triggering the air bags to be deployed. One in particular told us to make sure we reported this to the insurance company.
