LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LOCK

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023 INFINITI QX55 and 2022 INFINITI QX50 vehicles. The incorrect door latch may have been installed in the front right-side passenger door lock assembly, preventing the front right-side door lock from automatically locking.

Risk: An unlocked door may unlatch and open during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

ENGINE

Every single one of these 2.0 litre engines should be recalled. My partner has a 2022 QX50 and the long engine should be replaced. On May 18, 2025, my QX55 with 16,500 miles that I was absolutely perfect in servicing suddenly started losing power, grinding, then the oil light came on, followed by the check engine light. Suddenly, it was undrivable in traffic. I was stuck in front of entrance to a hospital in the most inconvenient and dangerous place. It wouldn't start, and when it did, the grinding noise was incredibly loud. I was stranded and it was flatbed towed to Fort Wayne (Indiana) Infiniti, and the following diagnosis was yielded: CONNECTING ROD BEARING FAILURE FROM CYLINDER 4 - CONTAMINATED OIL CONTROL SYSTEM. INTERNAL FAILURE OF CONNECTING ROD BEARING. TURBOCHARGER OIL FEED LINE HAS METAL PIECES IN TURBOCHARGER. REPLACEMENT OF LONG ENGINE AND TURBOCHARGER ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. Nissan is trying to get away with recalling just a few of these. It is a design flaw; not an issue with a specific production period.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Bluetooth and CarPlay connection suddenly disconnects from my iPhone while driving, usually after 5-10 minutes after establishing a normal connection. This only affects the use of the phone component and not the other elements of the connect (map/navigation, music are not affected). This is dangerous because I am often on a freeway and engaged in a business call, and I must rapidly either switch to using my handset or change to “speaker” mode on the phone in mid-call while driving. This has happened every time I have used this vehicle over the past two years, and I have taken it to the dealer (which is an excellent dealer (Sewell) that has an otherwise perfect service record. I am convinced Sewell has done nothing wrong. This has also happened on several other Infiniti models with my prior iPhones (different models with earlier versions of OS). I have been told in years past by Infiniti service corporate representatives in the past that there is an incompatibility between Infiniti and Apple phones. I was always told that the problem was solved on the next model vehicle.
