2019 IC BUS HC Complaints and Recall Information

The 2019 IC BUS HC has 0 complaints and 5 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to fuel system pre-heaters, electrical wiring, seat belt anchorage, and air brakes through recall actions rather than customer complaints.

There are five recalls affecting various systems on the 2019 IC BUS HC. These include electrical wiring related to HVAC systems, fuel system pre-heaters, seat belt anchor D-ring bolts, and air brake chambers. The recalls address fire risks, engine stalls, occupant restraint failures, and braking system defects.

Recalls
  • HVAC electrical wiring. NHTSA recall 23V248000 affects 42,054 vehicles. The HVAC blower motor circuit wiring terminal can overheat, increasing fire risk. Dealers replace the wiring terminal free of charge. Owner notifications began in June 2023.
  • Fuel system pre-heater (2019 recall). NHTSA recall 19V216000 covers 23,122 vehicles. The electric fuel heater may overheat, melting plastic and potentially causing fire or engine stalls, which raise crash risk. Cummins replaces the fuel heater free of charge. The recall started in May 2019.
  • Fuel system pre-heater (2020 recall). NHTSA recall 20V219000 impacts 27,421 vehicles. Similar to the 2019 recall, the fuel heater may overheat and cause fire or stalling. Dealers disable the fuel heater and remove the fuse, remedying the defect at no cost. The recall began in May 2020.
  • Seat belt anchorage. NHTSA recall 18V293000 covers 18,665 vehicles. The D-ring bolt on the front seat belts may break in a crash, reducing occupant restraint and increasing injury risk. Dealers replace the bolt free of charge. Notifications have been ongoing since May 2018.
  • Service brakes, air system. NHTSA recall 18V597000 involves 2,089 vehicles. A spring actuated parking brake may be improperly crimped, causing air leaks or spring brake chamber separation, which can increase stopping distances and crash risk. Dealers replace affected brake chambers at no cost. The recall started in October 2018.

Owners with repeated repairs or unresolved safety defects related to these recalls may want to review their rights under state lemon laws. Consulting legal resources could aid in addressing persistent issues or safety concerns.
