Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2020 CR-V, 2018-2019 Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019 Insight, and 2019-2020 Acura RDX vehicles. A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.

Risk: An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Water may get into the rearview camera mounting holes and enter the camera lens and cause a distorted image, or no image at all. Additionally, if the rearview camera view mode is set to top-down view, or switched from that view to another mode in a bright environment, the image may not display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH

Honda (America Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey vehicles. Water may enter the outer door handle cables for the sliding doors. If this occurs, the outer door handle cables may freeze in cold temperatures, preventing the front and rear sliding door latches from securely latching.

Risk: A power sliding door that fails to latch may open while moving, increasing the risk of injury.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey vehicles. The wire harness for the third row seat accessory power outlet may get pinched between the unibody and rear trim panel, possibly damaging the wires and causing an electrical short.

Risk: An intermittent electrical short could overheat the wire harness, increasing the risk of a fire.

Incorrect central network software programming may cause several errors to occur that can delay or prevent the rearview camera image from displaying. Loose battery terminal connections or a degraded battery may cause the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) to unexpectedly reboot. Upon rebooting, the TCU may shift the transmission to the "Park" position, possibly damaging the parking rod.

Risk: A damaged parking rod can allow the vehicle to roll when parked, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Braun Corporation (Braun) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Honda Odyessy vehicles modified to be equipped with an in-floor wheelchair ramp conversion. The rear wheel speed sensor harnesses may have been routed to the incorrect rear wheels, resulting in the possibility that the anti-lock brake system will not recognize each rear wheel speed properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake System" and 404, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."

Risk: If the rear wheel speeds cannot be correctly monitored, the anti-lock brake system may not engage properly to prevent the wheels from locking up, increasing the risk of crash.

The rear brake caliper pistons may have an insufficient coating, causing gas pockets to form, reducing brake performance. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Risk: A reduction of braking performance increases the risk of a crash.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle suddenly decelerated to 45 MPH, and failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent and was self-corrected after each failure. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions, but no fault codes were retrieved, and the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Action Number: PE25008 (ENGINE). The failure mileage was 33,000.

Over the last year, recorded 13 incidences where car would not accelerate. (It occurred more times, but I did not record it). I wrote down date, time, weather, gas level, temperature, and what the car would not do. Each incidence was the same - the car would not accelerate, despite pressing down (strongly) on the gas pedal. The car would then jerk forward suddenly. This provided concern and danger as it was often as I was trying to turn off a side road, onto a main road (state highway). This often needs to be done quickly as traffic approaches from both sides. There were a couple of instances when a car was approaching and the vehicle appeared to just stop in the intersection before finally picking up. I have definitely had concerns regarding being hit by oncoming traffic. I brought the vehicle in to Honda to assess in ~May/June 2023. They could not replicate the problem and ended up returning the vehicle without any noted actions. I began taking note of when this occurred starting 6/1/2024, and have 13 recorded incidences.

AIR BAGS

On July 1st 2025, while driving in Raton, New Mexico, my 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L experienced a spontaneous deployment of the driver-side curtain airbag. I was exiting the highway and slowing down to a stop sign (approx. 30 mph) when the airbag deployed. There was no crash, no impact, and no obstacle. This deployment disabled the entire SRS system, leaving the vehicle unsafe. My family — including three children — were in the car. I received a minor airbag burn on my arm, which healed in 24 hours. The SRS light came on only afterwards. There is zero exterior or interior damage. I recorded a video immediately after. The certified collision center at David McDavid Honda (Irving, TX) inspected the vehicle and confirmed in writing that there was no sign of collision. They sent me $11,000 repair (attached). I opened a case with American Honda on Monday, July 7th 2025 and I have not heard back since. The vehicle and components are available for inspection. While researching the issue i found alot of people are having this issue per the honda odyssey online forums. And staff at the local honda dealer that repaired system for over 2500.00 stated that he has seen an increase in this issue with the camera system. High pressure fuel pump is causing decreased acceleration and lots of noise. Been diagnosed by Honda dealership and other repair shops.

Dealer pulled and reinstalled a fuse which "fixed" the problem but said it was a known problem and could recur. The gas pedal can be depressed and a large delay can be experienced in the vehicle responding to the pedal causing the risk of injury and accident. The vehicle was taken to the shop and error code 219 A/B was the problem meaning fuel injectors not working properly and my particular VIN was not under those covered for replacement. Ever since we bought the car, the car has hesitated when we step on the gas pedal. It will then jerk forward, which makes it difficult to merge into traffic. There is a safety concern as it is unpredictable about when it will happen and when the car will start to go.

Upon coming to a complete stop on the freeway, the idle engine feature stopped the engine. Upon letting go of the gas, the engine wouldn't restart and the electrical systems in the car malfunctioned showing a restart of the car would be needed. After trying to restart the car, the engine wouldn't turn over. After pushing the off button and starting the car again, it finally restarted. This created a hazardous situation as there was the potential for the car behind us to rear end us since we were at a complete stop on the freeway. After the software update, this happened again at a right turn on a local street.

Vehicle jerks at about 25mph when it’s idled in 1-2rpm. Sometime at acceleration and won’t move up rpm. Vehicle got fuel injectors and transmission fluid replaced and still have issues. Vehicle in shop now with less then 2,000k before power train warranty up even though I’ve been dealing with it for over a year. Dealer said transmission fluid was down quart 4 months after they changed the transmission fluid. They were able to replicate jerk but couldn’t replicate sound of something clicking over while idle. I have it on video. I think since Honda never fixed the issue in the first place it caused additional damage and all the want to do is add more fluid and call it a day.

Well driving on the highway in CT. I hit a pot hole and the drive side curtain airbags deployed. There was no accident, but my kids were freaked out.

About 3 or 4 car lengths from exit to light. Side street sloped down about 20-30 degrees. Brakes would not stop van. Not sure if brakes slowed down van as going slow. However, brake pedal pushed hard down to floor but did not stop van. If hit gas pedal van would have accelerated and engine raced causing acceleration and more damage. No damage to back of vehicle I hit. Very minor damage to my van. Tried yesterday and today to replicate (in isolated locations and with no other vehicle near) the van’s conditions at time of incident. I will be contacting dealer. There is no recall. Do not know if anyone else had this problem or if dealer can find any issue. Notifying NHTSA to advise of this potential systemic issue. I’ll follow up with results of interaction with dealer.

Power Tailgate failure. The power tailgate no longer opens and closes. There seems to be no cause for this. I have read, however, on several forums that this is a manufacturing defect and that rainwater is getting through the seal to damage the control motor. I cannot open the tailgate from outside the vehicle. This is a safety concern. There were no warnings leading up to this. I called my local Honda dealer to find out if there were any safety recalls, but there were none. I think there should be--this vehicle is only 6 years old.

ENGINE

Nothing has happened yet, but I have been unable to get the connecting rod bearings inspected per the Honda safety recall notice. I contacted the Honda dealer in January of 2025 to have the bearings inspected, as well as to have the fuel pump replaced (also under recall). I wanted them both done at the same time. I set up an appointment for May 21st of 2025, because that date was the first mutually available date for the dealer and me. Later in the day, on May 21st, I got a call from the service department that my fuel pump was done, but they did not do the bearing inspection. I went to pick up the vehicle at the dealership only to find that the check engine light was on, so I had to leave the vehicle overnight so that the check engine light problem could be corrected. It was then that I was told that they could not do the connecting rod bearing inspection because the procedure requires a "special tool" and Honda had to send it to them. I find this strange because of the number of months that went by, from when I first contacted the dealership until the appointment date, and I thought that they would have been better prepared to complete the work. I was also informed by Honda that all of the parts necessary to do the bearing inspection were available. I received that notification on September 4th of 2024. I also find it strange that, out of nearly 250,000 affected vehicles, I am the first to request this service at this dealership. I was not told how long it would be until the dealership service department would receive the tool. In the recall notice from Honda, a connecting rod failure could potentially result in "...a fire, crash, or injury". That's the risk. I was told by Honda to continue driving the vehicle if I was not having any symptoms of failure. I have had no indications, but I would like to have this recall taken care of as soon as possible.

I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall related to the fuel pump motor (NHTSA Recall 21V215000 and/or 23V858000). In 2024, I brought my 2019 Honda Odyssey to Stevenson Hendrick Honda in an attempt to complete the fuel pump recall. I was informed the part was not available and no repair was completed. I was told to check back later. In preperation for a family road trip I checked back in and was told the part was still unavailable. Unfortunately, I did not receive a written confirmation of these visits. Yesterday (5/21/2025), the vehicle failed to start and had to be towed to the dealership. The error code DTC P0087 (fuel rail/system pressure too low) was logged. I have now been presented with $4,000 in repairs, all related to the same fuel pump issue that should have been corrected under the recall. This failure represents a serious safety concern and has caused financial and logistical hardship. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this as a failure of Honda to provide timely remedy for a known defect, resulting in vehicle failure and costly repairs for a safety-critical system.

The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the messages "Emissions system Failure", "Brake System Failure", "Brake Hose System Failure", "Power Steering Failure", "EPS Failure, "Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Failure", "Hill Start Assist Failure" and "Road Departure Mitigation System Failure" were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was filed. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a vehicle safety complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My tailgate originally would not open and now the vehicle is inoperable. This was caused by a leak through the roof, where Honda failed to properly seal a seam, causing water to get onto the trunk control module and damage it. I see online this is happening with almost all Gen 5 Honda Odysseys and is clearly a manufacturing defect, causing thousands in repairs for each.

On a rainy day, the power tailgate began to malfunction. First it would open part of the way, beep, and then close, then when trying again it would go move back and forth on its own, and then close. Recently got a message on the instrument panel that says "Emission System Problem" with DTC P219A. This is related to faulty fuel injectors. Honda released Service Bulletin 21-010 and extended the warranty to 10y/150,000mi to cover this issue. However, Honda is saying my VIN is not covered by this campaign. From browsing owners forums and talking to the dealer, it seems that many more owners are experiencing this same issue. Clearly the original service campaign did not cover enough VINs. Honda needs to expand the service campaign to cover more VINs to capture all of the faulty fuel injectors.

POWER TRAIN

Delayed transmission engagement when accelerating from a stopped position. When the accelerator is depressed the transmission hesitates and does not shift for a few seconds. This is very unsafe when trying accelerate into traffic or cross roads. This has been an on going issue with this transmission.

The fuel injector system is failing. The check engine light came on at around 60k miles and the error code P219A is present for this model. Service Bylletin 21-010 covers Honda Odysseys but do not cover this specific VIN.

I was driving to work and all of a sudden, the Check Engine light turned on and when I looked at the dashboard, it says Emissions System Problem. As I went home, I purchased an OBD sensor and as I used it, it read P219A which is about fuel injectors replacement. I called Honda America and said that my VIN number is not within the list so they are not covering the warranty. Same is true with the dealerships, they said the same thing. We had it towed to the dealership and was told battery was shot so they replaced. We have had all maintenance done at dealership prior to this. In fact, the vehicle was just in 3 weeks ago for an oil change and everything looked great. These issues have occurred without any warning lights or diagnostic alerts, making them unpredictable and dangerous. A transmission should not fail without any particular warning to the driver. It seems these transmissions have had a defect from the date of manufacturer that cause malfunctions, premature failing, costly repairs, and most important major safety concerns. Honda needs to be held accountable.

ENGINE

My 2019 Honda Odyssey has only 63,545 miles on it. The vehicle recently began making strange "rattling" sounds from inside the engine block when driving. I took the car into the dealership (Honda of Oakland) and learned from the technician that the rod bearings and/or connector rods are damaged. The engine needs to be completely torn down. To repair the car, I will need to purchase a new engine. The cost estimate is $13,000. Looking online, I discovered there is an ongoing recall for this issue affecting many 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys. Somehow, my vehicle has been excluded from this recall despite exhibiting the exact same problem(s) that the other recalled vehicles are experiencing. It appears that the existing recall parameters for the cars being affected by this bearing rod issue are too narrow. Many more Honda Odysseys are experiencing this same problem. I called American Honda for further assistance and they declined saying that the vehicle is outside of the warranty period and they are not obligated to help. I purchased this vehicle from the Honda of Oakland dealership - during my ownership, the car has passed many multi-point inspections. Nothing I have done (or did not do) has contributed to the problem - it is purely a manufacturing defect. The technician tells me that, if I don't make this repair, the engine could "seize-up" on the road while driving. This condition poses an active safety hazard for Odyssey owners.

My power liftgate ceased to open or close via any electronic means (button on dash, button on remote, tailgate left button on back of vehicle). The tailgate control module in the rear driver side panel was full of water when it was removed. The circuit board back side was covered with moisture damage which has shorted out the board.

POWER TRAIN

We have had issues with the transmission multiple times. After coming to a stop, rolling forward, and then pressing the accelerator the vehicle hesitates and won't immediately move forward. It will suddenly engage, often squealing the tires and jerk into forward motion. This puts us and others at risk because it causes a delay in pulling into traffic and has made for close calls with oncoming traffic. We took the vehicle to a local shop and they also noticed the issue with the transmission. We took the vehicle to a Honda dealership for service and while they stated that they could not duplicate the issue, there was a software update that they completed and stated that they thought it would take care of the issue. We are still having the issue and plan to take the vehicle back to the dealer for more investigation. We have not had any warning lamps or other messages. Upon researching this, there are class action lawsuits in the works related to this issue on 9 speed transmissions used in various Honda models during this timeframe. Honda has not recalled or extended warranties to cover these issues. It looks like Honda has sent technical service bulletins to nationwide dealers acknowleding the issue but has failed to find a fix for the problem. As in our case, Honda has done software updates which may mask the issue. Below it asks for the date that the incident occurred - This occurs at least weekly, sometimes more frequently.

Water intrusion from driver side roof rack seal caused water entering the vehicle. Trunk underneath carpet wet. Power Tailgate stopped working and it was identified that the ECU (control unit) part number 74970-THR-A12 located behind the rear driver side trunk trim got water into it and corroded. Need to be replaced. Roof need to be re sealed. Further damage/corrosion from water which already was entering the vehicle unknown at this point.

After coming to a complete start at a stop light the engine failed to restart when I took my foot off the brake. Car turned off completely and I needed to push power button to restart car. Water was leaking inside of the back driver side corner of the tailgate. The water built up inside of the PTG module and ruined it. The tailgate lock suddenly failed and opened up while driving down the road. The warning lamp illuminated that said tailgate error. No wreck just a sudden fail. i have video of the module pouring water out of it as i removed it from the vehicle.

The van stopped without any warning in the middle of a three lane highway. It could not be moved without a tow truck, We sat in a busy traffic lane at considerable risk. The Honda dealer that repaired the vehicle replaced the 06161-RLV-305 fuel pump. this was a very dangerous situation. The repair cost $1089.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Vehicle has hesitation when resuming forward drive after sitting at a light or taking left hand turn. The hesitation causes the feeling of not moving at the amount of speed the car should when starting to regain driving motion, then suddenly slams into gear and proceeds forward with a too quick acceleration to adjust to the amount of pressure applied to gas, causing the driver to have to hit brakes before hitting car infront of them.

The camera sensor in my 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L failed due to excessive overheating. The sensor reached extreme temperatures, leading to a complete system failure. As a result, the vehicle became inoperable. The failed component is no longer available for inspection as I was forced to purchase a replacement due to the vehicle’s dependency on it for proper function. The failure of the camera sensor created multiple dangerous situations: Loss of vehicle control: The vehicle lost acceleration functionality and automatically shut itself down, which could have led to a crash in traffic.Dashboard warning lights: All dashboard lights illuminated simultaneously, indicating a severe system failure. Fire hazard: The sensor was emitting extreme heat, creating a potential fire risk due to overheating electronics. Exposure to the elements: The sensor’s placement in direct sunlight likely contributed to its overheating, further increasing the risk of failure. Mandatory dependency on the sensor: The vehicle was rendered inoperable without the functioning sensor, leaving me without a safe means of transportation. A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the sensor had failed due to overheating. However, they stated that the cost of replacement, installation, and recalibration would be my financial responsibility. The issue was evaluated by a Honda dealership, but no manufacturer action was taken to address the failure beyond suggesting an expensive repair. All dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. Loss of acceleration control occurred before the vehicle shut down automatically. The sensor was emitting extreme heat prior to the failure. The issue persisted after restarting the vehicle—after a 10-minute cooldown, the vehicle restarted but failed again after 3-5 minutes.This malfunction was not only a significant inconvenience but a major safety hazard. The sensor’s location makes it highly susceptible to overheating.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Honda of America has released a warranty extension for "MIL comes on with DTC P0420/P0430, P030X, and/or P219A/B". My vehicle fits under the mentioned engine codes however, is deemed ineligible for the extended warranty. This issue with the faulty fuel injectors is a known issue that Honda has agreed to fix but is not willing to fix certain vehicles under the same warranty extension. This is a damaging part to the engine if left undealt with.

The car is 2019 and has about 23k miles and the tailgate malfunctioned and is completely inoperable. Based on my visit to the Lou Sobh Honda dealer in Cumming, GA, I was told that there is a crack in the body that needs to be sealed and water from there caused the control board to be exposed and get "fried". this is not something I would expect to have a warranty. At least there should be some responsibility to get this fixed, first time for free or whatever. If the diagnostics is replacing tailgate module and reseal, I feel Honda should take some ownership on this. I have read online that many drivers have the same issue. When asked to Honda customer service, I was told there is "No campaign". If there is none, I want to create one. Have to spend 1000$s on a repair that has nothing to do with my driving or care is meaningless.

I contacted honda USA. But they did not pay any attentions!!!! In the end of Jan 2025, I was making a left turn while the van got stuck there ; I almost got hit by the coming car. Vehicle has been experiencing intermittent instances of non movement when gas pedal has been pushed. This has come about sporadically and only been rectified only when vehicle driver has repeated action of "pumping" the gas pedal. In this instances, the situation has put driver and occupants at risk as it happens without warning, not allowing vehicle to drive when cars are fast approaching. Driver will attempt to move from a stopped position to drive and car has not moved. More so, we have a slight incline from our drive way, leading on to a VERY busy road that reaches speeds of 50+ mph. There has been instances where we have attempted to enter the road way from the driveway with approaching vehicles, very far away. Once break pedal was released, the car (due to being on a minimal incline) has begun to roll into the roadway. Driver then proceeds to press the gas pedal down to initiate movement, but vehicle does not move, driver repeats action and car begins to slowly move creating near dangerous heart pounding scenarios where the approaching vehicles that were very very far away when deciding to enter roadway to slamming on their breaks to avoid collision. Vehicle then began displaying an EMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM warning on dashboard. This prompted us to take it to an independent mechanic. Mechanic read the code and right away suggested we contact the dealer, as this is a "known issue" for Honda and the Odysseys and the faulty fuel injectors causing the dashboard light and vehicle not to move when gas pedal is initiated. Local Honda dealership requested vehicle be brought in for diagnostic. We paid $185 to learn what we already knew. Honda has issued an extended warranty on 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys for fuel injector issues but only to certain VIN #s. Upon researching in online forums, many customers with affected year Odysseys are being denied warranty extension due to VIN #s not qualifying. This issue is clearly larger than picked and chosen VIN #s

The engine stalls during the re-start and it seems to pull the voltage all the way down to where every controller is dead and restarting. Cycling ignition switch while cluster is black or restarting or throwing up bunches of fault messages as traffic is now moving and you are still stopped. Sometimes this re-boot process can take around 30 seconds (guessing, I'm freaking out during those moments so time is tough but it feels like a LONG time). I have not had an accident yet but definitely some very scary moments with wife and kids in the vehicle. This auto stop feature can be disabled but requires you hit the button with each ignition cycle and I don't always remember to do that. The Honda Odyssey currently has 80,000 miles on it, we bought it new in 2019 and this has been happening since it was new. We have had this reviewed at two different dealerships; there seems to be a dismissive attitude by the service departments. They have replaced batteries and there was a software update in early 2024 but this issue is definitely still present.

Honda trunk area is soaking wet after raining, carpet is stinking like mold/mildew. From my research this is unfortunately a common problem and is not being addressed by Honda. This can cause major health problems for some, especially those who have certain respiratory diseases. Repair is pending on our van, but I feel we shouldn't be having to pay for a fix that should be being addressed already by honda as multiple vehicles/vans are defective

While driving at 25-30 mph, all of a sudden the 2 warning signs came up: “transmission system problem” AND “blind spot info system problem.” The “D” in the dashboard started blinking. When I put the vehicle in park at a stop light, the “P” also blinked. After a couple of minutes of this I pulled over and turned the car off. A few minutes later I restarted the engine and these warning lights have not come back in the last 5 drives. I read online that this may be a software glitch that needs updating (which I think is a manufacturer defect). I do feel like the car was a bit jumpy while these warnings were going off and I was TERRIFIED that it would put itself into park while I was driving and cause an accident.

Multipurpose camera facing front on top of windshield works intermittently. 20% of the time it works fine, usually the first drive of the morning when the car is cool. 80% of the time, within 60 seconds upon startup there are 5 bright orange warning lights that come on all related to a malfunction in the multipurpose camera. These are: Adaptive Cruise Control Failure, Collision Mitigation System Failure, Lane Keeping Assistance Problem, Road Departure Assistance Problem, Auto-High Beam failure. Most concerning is that the “BRAKE SYSTEM” light stays illuminated orange after these warnings come on. My car will not pass inspection if it happens to have these intermittent warnings happen that trip. This started 1 month ago, out of the blue. From what I read online in Reddit and ODY.com…this multipurpose camera failure happens to many people at the 4-5 year mark. One person has a video posted about how it’s the camera overheating…it becomes too hot to touch. If you pour water on the windshield outside it will cool it off enough to work again. I think this is a malfunction/manufacturing defect in the camera itself. It should not randomly fail after only 4-5 years. It’s connected to all these vital safety systems. The repair cost quoted to me is $2686.88 + tax. This is SO expensive and I cannot afford to fix this. I don’t need the camera because I learned to drive without all these features, but I cannot remove this option. So, I’m stuck with having to pay a huge amount for something that is a manufacturing defect in the camera itself.

2019 Honda Odyssey - since about 100,000 miles, a knocking sound has begun to present itself, and has gotten progressively worse. The vehicle is now at 129,000 miles and the sound has been diagnosed by 2 different repair shops as "rod knock" due to premature bearing wear. This is exactly what 250,000 vehicles were recalled for back in January 2024, however, this vehicle's vin was not included in said recall. The repair shops have quoted the vehicle owner $9000 for full engine replacement with a used Honda engine that could potentially have the same manufacturer defect that the engine being replaced has.

I have had the trunk struts and power module replaced twice due to water leaks into the compute module of my trunk. It has cost me headaches and thousand of dollars to have it fixed. This issue should be recalled to fix and for a reseal of the trunk. My dash has a power lift gate error show up and will not open anymore. Also it will not stay open as well and slowly just close itself.

AIR BAGS

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at 25 MPH over a pothole, the driver-side air bag and the driver-side curtain air bags in the headliner were deployed. The contact stated she did not depress the brake pedal, however, for an unknown reason the vehicle stalled. The contact stated multiple unknown warning lights were illuminated. White smoke was emitting from an unknown source inside the vehicle. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed however, the failure was undetermined. The air bags were replaced. The insurance company was contacted and the vehicle was towed to the insurance company however, no inspection was completed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure, and the contact was referred to her insurance company. The failure mileage was 59,274.

Brought my 2019 Odessey to the dealership shortly after I had the following error messages appeared on my dashboard: Brake System, Auto High-Beam Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, & Adaptive Cruise Control Problem. Sometimes these pop-up intermittently. Other codes I've seen twice since this issue started are Transmission System Problem and Blind Spot Info System Problem. The dealership mentioned that these error codes are most likely associated with the other codes mentioned above. Did a diagnostic at the dealership and they initially cleared all codes and U300-49 returned and they are recommending replacing the Multi-purpose camara unit and they are charging $2,256.95 for this to be done. This repair is costly and from what I understand is a common issue for Odessey owners. In addition, since this little part seems responsible for upholding these safety features it seems ridiculous that we paid good money to have this vehicle, but our all these safety features seem to be on hold until we get this costly repair done. I personally don't feel 100% safe driving the vehicle. To me, it feels like a gamble to put my family and the public in danger by driving the vehicle because every time I turn on the vehicle the warning sounds beep and flash, I don't feel safe.

The contact stated that the fuel pump module was replaced but the failure occurred. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.

Does not accelerate on the highway/freeway. Took it to dealer shop, several times over the years. First 2-3 years, they say they did not find any issues. Last year, they said it was transmission issue. We took it to other repair shop, he said it was computer system failure.

STRUCTURE:BODY

Driver side, passenger sliding door does not properly close at times. When closing, it seems the sensor is sensing blockage and will not shut fully but re-opens the door again and again. It will mentally close after the 4th or 5th time. I typically will have to get out and manually push the sliding door shut. This happens at least a few times a week. I have noticed it around summer of 2024. It is especially concerning when trying to load kids up quickly to leave during the evenings for safety reasons to only have the doors keep opening when trying to close. Upon sharing with other friends and family, they also experience the same issue.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

There is an active recall for my fuel pump and I’ve tried several times to get it fixed and they refuse to fix it

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

My van regularly hesitates from the stopped position. This often causes a safety hazard when turning right into traffic or making a left turn because I am not able to accelerate for several seconds and the vehicle feels as if it is stalling out. It is a known mechanical defect with Honda and they do not currently have a resolution. When reported, I was told the mechanical system defects to switching through all the gears before accelerating, causing the delay. Not only does this cause performance issues, there have been several close calls when I have made a left turn/ right turn into traffic and the vehicle hesitates for a few seconds

At various times since we have owned our van, when the gas pedal is pushed, the car will not move for a few seconds. It will then go, but it’s not smooth. I can never recreate this issue, since it seems to happen randomly. I had it happen today, and it lasted longer than a couple of seconds. I was thankful I was just leaving my neighborhood and not trying to turn onto a busy street.

Water intrusion near rear tailgate control box. The circuit board was ruined by water and the automatic tailgate was at first malfunctioning and then would not function at all. The circuit board had to be replaced.
