SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2020 CR-V, 2018-2019 Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019 Insight, and 2019-2020 Acura RDX vehicles. A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.
Risk: An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017, 2020, and 2022 CR-V vehicles. The certification label on the driver's side door states incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR), and tire size information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Risk: An incorrectly sized tire may cause premature tread wear, or a tire blow out, increasing the risk of a crash.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 Honda Accord, Civic Coupe, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Hybrid, RDX, RLX, TLX, 2019-2022 Honda Insight, Passport, 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEV, Fit, and 2015-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Acura NSX vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Risk: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
2017 HONDA CR-V
54 vehicles affected
STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Honda Civic and CR-V vehicles. The magnet that controls the torque sensor output signal for the electronic power steering system may not be properly secured, allowing the magnet to become dislodged. During a full lock turn, the dislodged magnet may cause steering assist to be applied in the opposite direction.
Risk: The unintended steering input reduces vehicle maneuverability and increases the risk of a crash.
2017 HONDA CR-V
32233 vehicles affected
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017 Honda CR-V 2WD and AWD vehicles. The affected vehicles have a fuel supply pipe that may have been improperly manufactured, possibly resulting in the pipe disconnecting and leaking while driving.
Risk: If the pipe disconnects, the engine will stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the disconnected pipe may leak fuel, which, in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire.
2017 HONDA CR-V
1425 vehicles affected
EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017 CR-V and Acura RDX vehicles. The Certification Labels on the affected vehicles were printed with ink that may be inadvertently wiped away with an alcohol solvent. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
Risk: If the label information can be wiped away, the operator may not be able to refer to the information, possibly resulting in the vehicle being overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.

My car decelerated on the highway from a speed of approximately 65 mph to 9 mph in a matter of seconds without any reason. I drove in the breakdown lane with flashers on to get to the next exit and upon entering the off-ramp my CRV suddenly accelerated back to normal. I took my vehicle to my Honda dealership and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It was showing no codes. The write-up did not mention my description of the deceleration on the highway. It discussed only my thought that my alternator might be bad. This was 8/19/25. Since this check at the dealership my car has done this exact act two more times on the highway for no reason. I am terrified to drive my car on the highway because I fear for my safety.

To Whom It May Concern, I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2017 Honda CR-V related to the fuel/propulsion system. While driving, the vehicle will suddenly stop accelerating. At the same time, multiple warning messages appear on the dash, including alerts that the driver assist system, cruise control, and brake system are not functioning, along with other system warnings. This issue happens without warning and has occurred multiple times. It creates a dangerous situation, especially at highway speeds or in traffic, since the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate and several critical safety systems appear disabled. I am very concerned that this may be a defect in the fuel/propulsion system or an associated electrical/control system that could pose a risk to myself, my passengers, and other drivers. Please advise on the next steps for inspection and resolution.

On July 31, 2025, my 2017 Honda CR-V was diagnosed by a certified Honda dealership with complete air conditioning failure. The A/C compressor produced a loud knocking noise and was found to have leaked black debris (burned oil/metal), contaminating the entire system. I was informed the system required full replacement, totaling $4,500. The defect has disabled the ability to cool the vehicle cabin, which poses a risk to drivers with health conditions. It also affects window defogging and visibility, especially in humid, rainy conditions. This matches hundreds of similar complaints and class action lawsuits filed against Honda for known A/C system defects in 2016–2021 CR-V and Civic models. My car is outside the standard compressor warranty, and Honda refuses to provide assistance. This failure should be considered a safety hazard, particularly for individuals who require temperature control for medical reasons.

Numerous times over the life of the car all dash warning systems and lights activate while you are driving. Sometimes they persist after restarting engine. Numerous visits to dealer to address and finally they stated that fuel injectors need replaced. Searching this issue online seems to indicate this is a common event with 2017-18 CRVs like mine. I contacted Honda and they stated that there is no recall or warranty extension for an issue like this. The car is not safe to drive with all the alarms staying active. This started taking place in 2018 with only 30K miles and would happen rarely. But started to happen monthly in 2024 until I replaced the fuel injectors last September.

Hi this is Will with Honda I checked out your car I heard the noise the noise is your BTC actuator timing chain actuator that you need a timing chain job unfortunately also found a full head gasket need fuel injectors as well give me a call I can go over everything it's expensive though…” This vehicle has been serviced exclusively by the same Honda dealership. There was a slight miss upon starting the vehicle that would go away upon driving, that was the reason for taking it in to be checked. No lights came on signaling a problem, no loss of power, no overheating and although the service representative mentioned a noise there was no noise that we could hear. This vehicle has only 108,000 carefully driven miles on it.

The driver's side mirror wobbles. I took it to a repair shop and they confirmed that it was not the mirror but the base of the side mirror that is attached to the car door that wobbles. They said that it is a manufacturing defect. The passenger side mirror does not wobble. This seems to be a PREVALENT issue with Honnda CRVs online - the wobbly driver side mirror. This is uncomfortable to look at while driving - it can give you a headache or make the driver dizzy. Honda needs to make a recall about these defective drive-side side mirrors. We have a 2017 Honda CRV. My daughter recently got the car so I do not know how long this problem has been going on.

I have rebooted and sometimes it resets and sometimes it doesn't. it is extremely rough starting now. The electrical problem can start when i start the car and sometimes it happens while driving. with all warnings going, it concerns me that I would not know which alert might be real. The vehicle seems to short itself out. i have changed the battery more times than would be normal. It is draining the battery while sitting (no lights or other issues that would cause it). The electrical system flashing has been happening from the beginning but it is getting more frequent and doesn't reset. ALL warning lights come on at once while driving. First occurrence happened during a snowy day. I immediately went to an independent facility to have the codes run as I was concerned with losing braking ability as it was one of the many lights saying there was an issue. The mechanic checked it for codes and listed all the faults I could see on the dash. Mechanic said most likely it was a battery problem, so the battery was tested and was fine. Safety at risk due to sudden cancellation of cruise control and not having emergency automatic braking. 2 independent repair shops have been able to reproduce the issue. One was able to clear the codes and have the issue be reproduced real-time connected to reader. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer or police insurance reps. The warning lamps are: all of them. Electrical, power steering, emerg. Braking, TPMS, LKAS, engine, etc. During the winter the lights stay on for weeks at a time. Spring and early summer significantly less. Summer time thus far has been higher than in the spring, but the time they are on is less (a day or two) Temperature is the only thing I noticed a real difference with. Cold was the worst. Not even having the vehicle warmed up would remove the lights. They turn on and off whenever they want.

All lights shows up on my cars dashboard and at first start it shake with vibration for 2 minutes then it stables even though on the highway when I try to accelerate it doesn’t go smoothly last time I have the same issue and paragon fixed it by changing alternator and reset by computer but still I am facing the same problem. They are always going through the temporary solution by resetting code sometimes changing battery or recommended some other parts although they never take seriously about my head gasket problem and because of that causes misfire. I need the permanent solution. It’s very frustrating for me to face that problem everyday.

American Honda extended the warranty for the A/C compressor shaft seal on the 2017 Honda CR-V to 10 years from the original purchase date, with no mileage limitation. This extended warranty covers the repair or replacement of the A/C compressor shaft seal if it leaks. This is due to a known corrosive material that they used in the system. My car failed this seal and they would replace this for free. However, the discharge hose on the same system also failed due to corrosion of the same material. The hose is not covered under the warranty and Honda will not fix the hose or even cover any percentage of the cost. Herb Chambers in Burlington won't do the AC comprssor shaft seal without the hose being replaced because the system will still leak. American Honda and Herb Chambers want me to pay $1400 for a repair to the discharge hose before they will perform the work on the compressor seal. If the corrosive material was the culprit for the shaft seal, then it is also the culprit on the discharge hose and I would like to make sure they are responsible for using this corrosive material and they should cover the whole repair. I would like to know my options.

All of the warning lights the last few months would continue to cut on and off. Now they just stay on. The Car drives fine though but is a safety hazard since it can’t tell us if something is wrong.

All the dashboard warning lights come on. They will turn off at short intervals, but then come back on. I took the car to the dealer in 2024 and they diagnosed it as rear tire sensor problem. Paid over $800 to have this replaced and all the dashboard warning lights came back on the next day. Went back to the dealer and they then diagnosed it as bad fuel injector and quoted repair at over $1,200. We did not have the injector replaced as they could not guarantee fixing the fuel injector would turn the lights off as this seems to be a common reported problem in 2017 Honda CRVs. Over the past year the dashboard warning lights would come on and off at random intervals. Over the past two months, along with all warning lights remaining on, the car has now started to stall within the first 5 minutes of driving it. Due to the stalling, we took the car to an independent mechanic who followed the Honda service bulletin and did a full tune up on the car but all dashboard warning lights remain on and the car continues to stall at times.

When I pressed the brake pedal fully to stop the vehicle, the pedal felt extremely hard and resistant, and the vehicle continued moving, failing to slow or stop as expected and hitting the vehicle in front. The driver side, curtain airbag deployed incorrectly. The airbag deployed at an angle. Instead of the airbag going down to provide a barrier between the window and the driver, the air bag slid to the right hand side of the driver's head. This meant that the driver's head was squeezed between the window and the airbag for two or three minutes until the airbag deflated. The car seat airbag was deployed as well. The collision happened at a 30 degree angle. The driver was stopped and the oncoming driver was traveling 10-15 mph. The rear door on the driver's side was struck and was the only door damaged. No windows were damaged. The vehicle is a total loss and is being towed by the insurance company to be auctioned and salvaged.

Engine was overheating due to a defective head gasket. “The head gasket provides a seal that keeps that pressure contained within the engine’s cylinder. While driving down a main road, with no other vehicles or obstacles around/in front of me, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) beeped/flashed and my car came to almost a dead stop in the middle of the road. This happened without warning, or any previous warning/issues. Luckily no accident happened, as I don't believe a vehicle was behind me (but this could've gone horribly wrong had there been). It was a very windy day. I took it to a Honda dealership the same week, they found no issues and also could not reproduce this. I called Honda Customer Service, who was apologetic, but really no help, and only filed a complaint for me. I see this as being a high potential safety hazard for accidents, etc., and it makes me nervous now driving my vehicle, especially since this is something I cannot turn off. I wanted to file a report here as well, in hopes that investigations are happening for this issue.

The dash warning lights all come on when the vehicle is started. Numerous Warning messages scroll across the dash indicating just about every system on the vehicle is malfunctioning. The collision warning system stops working, the lane change warning stops working, cruise control stops working. I have no idea what else could have stopped working that could mean the difference between life and death. My vehicle has had this problem for almost two years now. This problem stops after disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes then it comes back unpredictably. Honda dealerships just guess what the problem is because there are no definitive error codes. They randomly want to change parts like fuel injectors, onboard computer, brakes, battery, and others, and charge thousands of dollars and will not refund the money when the problem reappears. This problem is putting drivers at serious risk and Honda has done absolutely nothing to find and repair the problem. There are hundreds of reports of this problem online and Honda has not responded. Honda dealerships are making tons of money from this issue and doing nothing to solve the problem.

Fuel injectors have failed on this car 2x before it has hit 120k miles. First was at 50k ish. Honda will not acknowledge this as an issue, even though it is an extremely common issue with all of the 1.5L engines on civics, accords and their other cars in this engine type. My mechanic has checked the service records and the most common issue with these cars, and this is a super common issue, always requiring fuel injectors to repair it. Car idles very very badly when started, and should not be having all of these issues on a well-maintained 8 year old car. It causes a check engine light to appear and an “emissions system issue” warning to appear on the car. It’s only been 3/4 years with the 2nd set of injectors (which were replaced under my optional extended warranty on the car, purchased through Honda). But I was not warned that this was a common issue until going to an independent service technician when my check engine light came on. I

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment, after which, the vehicle lost motive power and was unable to accelerate above 40 MPH, prompting the contact to discontinue driving the vehicle. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the turbo. The contact was informed that the turbo needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact had filed a complaint# 11652854 the contact wanted to add to her complaint. On a separate occasion, April 21, 2025, the contact was coming out of the store when the vehicle made unknown sounds and vibrating. All the warning lights illuminated. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, on the highway and the vehicle stopped. The contact tried to merge to the side of the road. The contact contacted the dealer and a tow truck was sent, the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact obtained a loaner vehicle and was advised by the dealer, that the vehicle had been diagnosed with fuel injector failure and spark plugs needed to be replaced due to the turbo failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I started vehicle and all warning lights on dash popped up and began scrolling through/flashing. As a vehicle owner, I was startled as it was unsettling to see all the warnings pop up. It appeared every safety feature/component on the vehicle was compromised. I immediately contacted the local Honda dealership as they suggested diagnostics were needed. Dealership invoice states "Diagnose check engine light - pull codes, diagnose to failure". Dealership invoice further states "Tech Verified Concern. Tech scanned system for codes and found code P0301 stored for misfire cylinder. Tech ran air fuel test and failures came back on Cylinders 1 and 3. Tech diagnosed to failing injectors, recommend replacing". After doing some research, it appears this particular vehicle has a history with similar problems. I have a product update letter from December 2018 which refers to the P0301 code. In addition, I have a Warranty Extension letter dated July 2019, which refers to the same issue and the P0301 code. The letter states that to ensure confidence in the product, the powertrain warranty was extended from the original 5 year/60,000 miles to 6 years with unlimited mileage from the original sale date. Unfortunately, my vehicle is a 2017, so although I qualify under the mileage I do not qualify under the 6 year time frame. The current mileage on my vehicle is 56,000 miles.

We have had this problem more than once but this morning it nearly caused an accident. My husband was driving to work and all of a sudden the car's automatic breaking system caused the car to stop dead, causing the car behind him to have to swerve up on the sidewalk to avoid hitting him. He was not going over a metal plate, there waDSs no car stopped in front of him. This has happened at least ten times in the time we have owned the car and we have been INCREDIBLY lucky that it has not caused an accident, but it's still clearly a problem. We have complained about this to the dealership when we bring it in but they just shrug since they can't reproduce it and it seems to happen randomly. Just all of a sudden driving along BRAKE will flash on the dashboard and the car will stop abruptly.

I have had my car taken to Honda dealerships with an issue of all my warning lights would come on. No one has been able to fix the issue. The spark plugs, battery, air filters, have been replaced and diagnostic tests were done. The warning lights would stop for a couple of months and then start again. The last time all the warning lights came on my car began to stall and not got over 8 - 10 mph when I would start to drive. I would pull over, turn off my car, restart, then it would be ok to drive. The part that scared me was when I was on a busy highway, traveling close to 65 - 70 mph and my car stalled/lost power. Thankfully, I was able to pull to the side of the highway without getting myself or anyone hurt. I have since stopped driving on the highway. The last mechanic (Honda certified) has told me my head gasket needs replaced. Not something I would expect but it does explain a lot of the issues I have been having. My car is parked until I am able to get it repaired.

My 2017 CR-V (~$80k miles) will randomly fire every system or warning alert on the dashboard. This includes vital or important alerts like Brakes, Check engine light, Tire pressure, etc. There has been no way to reset it, and it persists through car restarts, system reboots, and driving. The first time this happened was [XXX], and I was able to reset it. However, it has returned a month and a half later ([XXX]) and there has been no remedy or reset that has worked. This issue is extremely dangerous, as it completely mitigates the safety features put in place for this vehicle. With all of the system warnings misfiring and no way to reset or check which are legitimate versus a complication, I am putting myself and others at risk if I drive. I will not know if there is a true issue with a tire, my engine, my brakes... I need my car but am wary of driving it now to keep myself and others safe. It also makes some features inaccessible (i.e., cruise control). I conducted further research prior to taking it to the dealership to better understand the potential cause and what could be done. After conducting that research, it seems this is a VERY common and fairly well-known issue. I have linked one of several forums demonstrating the scope of this issue. Example forum: [XXX] The system misfires are being diagnosed as issues with the fuel injectors, and owners are getting told to replace those fuel injectors to remedy the issue (cost of which equals around $1,400-2,200). Few also report that following installation of new fuel injectors, the issue has come back. Not everyone has ~$2k to fix an issue that is so common it should have already been addressed by Honda. Vehicle unexpectedly begins to start flashing all warning systems while simultaneously losing excessive power. Unexpected ADAS system malfunction may cause the vehicle to break unexpectedly creating unsafe conditions or driving hazards for driver, passengers and others on the road. There is a significant loss of power, again, creating dangerous conditions while driving through busy traffic at high speeds or driving uphill. - Hill Start Assist Problem - Adaptive Cruise Control - Collision Mitigation System - Road Departure Mitigation System - Electric Parking Brake - Tire Pressure Monitor - Emissions system - All Wheel Drive - Brake System Problem - Brake Hold - Power Steering System - Vehicle Stability Assist Attempts to resolve issue Attempt # 1: Honda did a software update, resolved the issue for about four-five months (December 2020).... Mileage 49,504 # 2: Replaced Battery and Spark Plugs (April 2021) # 3: Appointment Scheduled for May 12th, 2021.... Mileage 54,330 #4: Disconnected battery mileage 96,000+ #5: New Spark plugs and new battery mileage 97,000+ The first time this occurred I was driving with my wife and two children. We were traveling down hill, a narrow road which is steep and has any sharp turns. As the system failures began to light up the car became extremely unsafe. There was very little control of the brake system as well as the steering system. Fortunately we avoided a potentially deadly scenario. Once we came to to level terrain where we could eventually slow down enough to stop the car, it was shuttering the whole way until we found a safe spot to pull over nearby. The car was then towed and serviced by Honda of Ithaca (Ithaca, NY). That same dealer said the resolved the issue with confidence, that it just needed a software upgrade. The concern here is that there seems to be no resolution for this issue and no warning as to when this could and seems to be will happen again.

We bought this vehicle new in 2017 and now have about 78K miles on it. Since we have owned it there have been SEVERAL (at least 7) occasions where we are driving along on the highway at 35-70MPH (depending on the speed limit) and the emergency forward collision braking system suddenly applies the brakes for no reason. This has happened during daylight and nightime on the open road with no vehicles or objects anywhere in front of us or close to the side of us and, on a few occasions, nearly causing vehicles behind us to crash into us because the brakes come on unexpectedly and we are unable to do anything about it. Early on, we reported this a couple times to our Honda dealer and we were told, "that can happen if there is blowing rain or snow or even a bird flying buy, it is normal so don't worry about it." Well, it IS something to worry about because it randomly happens again and again, and we recently almost had a huge accident on Interstate 79 because of it! What is most bothersome about this DEFECT in design or implementation is that the driver has no way of knowing in advance it is going to happen because it is a random occurrence with no rhyme or reason behind it, and there is nothing the driver can do to prevent it or minimize its effects! PLEASE, investigate this and force it to be fixed because lives could easily be lost from this phantom braking if none have been lost yet!

I replaced fuel injectors in my 2017 honda crv in September 2024 at Northtown Honda in Buffalo, NY. In November 2024 my girlfriend was driving the vehicle in Michigan and the car slowed down to below 20 mph on the highway and flashed all dashboard warning lights, what Honda refers to as "limp mode". This almost caused her get hit by a semi truck. The car was towed to Honda of Grand Blanc and I was told it needs a new turbo. The turbo was replaced and then in December 2024 the car again broke down while I was visiting Toronto, Canada. I had to pay for a tow back to Northtown Honda where I was informed that the vehicle needs a new engine and turbo. I have taken very good care of my vehicle, always done proper maintenance and oil changes. This model is known for some oil dilution problems and I was never informed of that from Northtown Honda where I regularly maintenance my vehicle. The car is currently at Northtown Honda as they told me the bill is around $12k and I can't afford to pay that.

In 2 separate incidents, the vehicle has applied the brakes on its own, with no obstacle in sight ahead of it. One time the braking brought the vehicle to a complete stop, the other time it started hard braking, then the braking stopped. Both times were in daylight with no animals or any other object ahead of the vehicle. One of the incidents nearly caused a collision with a vehicle following from the rear that would not have been expecting the sudden stop.

The vehicle airbag warning light 'SRS' displays randomly. We paid almost $200 for a diagnosis and have been told the passenger airbag needs to be replaced at a cost of $800. The Diagnostic code is B0020-13 "open or increased resistance in the left side airbag inflator". I have contacted Honda and they denied any 'good will' service to replace it due to the age and mileage of the car. We drive around 20k/yr. We do regular maintenance. Honda cannot confirm if the airbag will function properly. We have not 'worn out' the airbag as it has never been used but I do expect it to function in an accident. We bought the Touring model of the CR-V for the added feature of LED headlights. Safety is a high priority and I expect Honda to stand behind their safety features.

I was driving about 25 miles per hour, there were no cars in front of me (in either direction). The car suddenly slammed on the brakes for no reason. My passenger and I were both thrown towards the steering wheel and dashboard, things came flying from the back seat to the front, falling down by the pedals. I was very nearly rear ended, the car behind me was able to swerve to the left but was extremely angry. The car went into neutral, but possibly because something came from the back seat and hit the gearshift, I'm not sure about that. I was stuck in neutral with traffic horns blaring at me. If I'd have been pulling out into traffic when this happened I would easily have been hit broadside. I brought my car to the dealer, they said there was nothing wrong and that perhaps I didn't understand how the system works. I'm certain that it is not meant to bring the car to a screeching halt when there is literally nothing in front of you anywhere.

Well maintained vehicle with less than 86,000 miles and all 4 fuel injectors failed, causing check engine light, which caused all assistive device systems to turn off (collision avoidance, abs, traction control, etc.). In researching the issue, these injectors are failing in this make/model frequently at mileages well before you would expect a fuel injector to wear out, suggesting there is a defect in the injectors used in this model year CRV.
