Traveling on 4 lane highway at 65 mph on slight upgrade-check engine light started flashing and vehicle started to shudder slightly and went into "limp" mode I think. Started to slow down with NO power. Turned on emergency flashers and was able to pull over without incident, although it was close to causing an accident with a tractor trailer. I shut the vehicle down and after 10 minutes, started it again> I was able to drive home another 45 miles without incident. This happened a week ago and so far it hasn't happened again.

The issue occurs seemingly randomly about once a month when driving on the highway. All of the sudden the car starts de-accelerating. Even if you push the gas pedal all the way down it doesn’t go. It just goes slower and slower and thank goodness I’ve been able to pull over every time. Once I shutdown the car completely and turn back on then I have power again.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that while his wife was driving up the driveway, at a slow speed, the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle then accelerated independently. The auto stop feature failed. The contact's wife veered to avoid hitting a parked vehicle. However, the vehicle hit the side of the garage and hit a small tree, where it came to a stop. The contact advised that a branch went under the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags did not deploy. The contact's wife suffered injuries to the front part of her head. The contact was occupying the front passenger's side seat at the time of the incident. Medical attention was not received. The police were not notified. The vehicle was towed to a collision center but was not diagnosed or repaired. The insurance company was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer advised the contact that a case manager would be assigned. However, the contact was awaiting to hear from the case manager. The failure mileage was 42,332.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, the braking system erroneously activated, causing the vehicle to abruptly slow down and decelerate. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions with a second vehicle in next lane slowing down. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.
2025 HONDA CR-V HYBRID
ID: 2111281SUSPENSION
Vehicle: 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid Date of Purchase: April 2025 Date Problem First Noticed: April 2025 Complaint Summary: I purchased a brand new 2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid in April 2025. Since the day I brought the vehicle home, I have noticed a persistent clanking or metal-on-metal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, especially noticeable when driving over minor bumps or rough pavement at low to moderate speeds. This issue was reported to the dealer, and in June 2025, they attempted a repair by replacing the rear shock absorber and a rear rod assembly. However, the noise returned within weeks, and by mid-July 2025, it has become significantly worse. Now, the clanking sound is loud and alarming, resembling something coming loose or at risk of falling off. It has reached the point where I feel unsafe driving the vehicle, especially on highways or interstates. I am concerned that a suspension or structural component may fail, potentially leading to a loss of control or an accident. The fact that this issue has persisted despite repairs and is worsening raises serious concerns about the safety and structural integrity of the rear suspension system on this model. --- Additional Notes: The noise occurs whether the vehicle is loaded or empty. It is especially pronounced when driving over uneven roads, minor bumps, or potholes. I have checked the cargo area for loose items—this is clearly a mechanical issue. The service team initially acknowledged the issue and attempted a fix, but the recurrence suggests either a design flaw or improper rear component durability. Given that other owners have reported similar noises and rear-end suspension issues on owner forums, I believe this may not be an isolated case. --- ⚠️ Safety Concern: Due to the intensity of the noise and the sensation that rear components may detach, I no longer feel confident driving the vehicle at highway speeds. This poses a serious safety hazard to myself.

There were moments at certain speed like when I try to park at low speed or when I go down the hill at higher speed, the brake just doesn’t work. More specifically, as I try to engage the brake, the brake pedal just loose all the way and the brake just not engage when the brake pedal at maximum. This happens 2-3 times already, and my car is new.

My 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid began displaying multiple warning messages around February 2025: “Transmission System Problem,” “Blind Spot Info System Problem,” and “Emission System Problem.” The issue was eventually traced to incorrect transmission fluid used from the time of purchase. A diagnostic report confirmed widespread internal transmission damage (e.g., shift solenoids stuck, low fluid pressure, excessive clutch slippage). As the transmission failed, it overwhelmed the vehicle’s main computer (PCM), causing a breakdown in the F-CAN network and disabling connected safety systems like the blind spot monitoring and emissions modules. The drivability of the vehicle deteriorated rapidly—gear shifting became rough and unpredictable. The car began struggling to accelerate above 40 mph, especially during inclines or highway merges. This posed a safety risk not only to me but also to passengers and other drivers due to reduced control and system failures. I rely on this vehicle for work and have since had to limit driving to local roads only, avoiding highways entirely. The issue was confirmed by an independent service center. Diagnostic reports and dashboard photos were submitted to the manufacturer, but they have not accepted responsibility. Their representative acknowledged the symptoms but insisted it was the selling dealer’s issue. Meanwhile, the transmission continued to degrade. I believe this defect originated at the manufacturing or pre-delivery stage. The wrong fluid caused irreversible internal damage that has now jeopardized the vehicle's powertrain and safety systems. Despite reports, photos, and repeated communication, the manufacturer has delayed action, and the vehicle is now outside the powertrain warranty mileage due to this delay.
