The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Acura MDX, MDX Sport Hybrid, RDX, TLX, Honda Accord, Civic Hatchback, Insight, 2019 Acura ILX, Honda Accord Hybrid, Civic Coupe, Civic Coupe Si, Civic Sedan, Civic Sedan Si, Civic Type R, Fit, HR-V, Odyssey, Passport, Pilot and Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 CR-V vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

The AC evaporator broke and only the AC condenser and sealer are under extended warranty. The AC evaporator is a costly repair and several other Honda owners have noted it has failed. Without the AC evaporator functioning, the AC system does not work.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to file a complaint regarding an unresolved recall issue for my vehicle. Although the manufacturer’s service center has completed the recall repair, the repair has not been updated in the NHTSA system, and the vehicle still shows an open recall. This unresolved status is creating serious issues: The car cannot pass Vehicle Safety Systems (VSS) inspection. Registration cannot be completed for the buyer. The bank is holding funds from the sale until the recall is officially cleared. I have contacted both Honda corporate and the servicing dealership several times, but despite their assurances, the recall remains uncleared in the system. Vehicle Information: Year/Make/Model: 2019 Honda Civic VIN: [XXX] This delay is unreasonable, disruptive to my business operations, and unfair to the customer. I had gotten a new battery because one point after work, my car would not start. I then got installed a brand new battery, and it still wouldn’t turn on. The only things that turned on were the dashboard, but no noise coming from the front engine compartment. I tried turning it on after, but it wouldn’t start at all. I then got it towed to an auto shop and they installed a new starter. The new starter worked for a month before another incident in a Walmart parking lot where it would not start after turning the key multiple times. After a few times it started and I drove it again to the same auto shop. The auto shop had no trouble starting it, they turned it on and off several times without any fault. That was in July of 2025. Fast forward a few weeks later, there was two instances in which the car did the same thing, the engine was not turning on only the front dashboard lights. After the first try it turned on. Now on 8/22/2025 as I was driving on the highway going 75mph the car stopped decelerating. Pressing the gas pedal did nothing. It stopped completely, thankfully I was able to stop on the side of the highway but it was still a very dangerous situation had it been another time during the day. This time, the engine compartment, once the key was turned was simply making a noise but not starting or “turning over”. I lifted up the hood and noticed that when the key was inserted the engine compartment was shaking. I got it towed to the same auto shop awaiting the results. I looked up the symptoms for a faulty fuel state and my car is showing to have a lot of the same as it would be that.

NOTICED PAINT PEELING ON THE DOOR HANDLES DRIVER AND PASSAGE SIDE MIRROR COVERS; HAD THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR COVER REPLACED NOT THE PASSAGE SIDE. ALSO BOUGHT A PAINT KIT BUT TO NO AVAIL. IN THE PROCESS OF CONTACTING THE DEALER RE: THE ISSUE.

I purchased a 2019 Honda Civic LX July 3rd 2025 I noticed that the steering front end didn't feel right so I brought it back they still to this day the dealership has the car I cannot drive it on the highway because the steering goes to the left goes to the right I have to keep two hands on the wheel I came close to hitting a tractor trailer cannot drive over 50 mph without it being out of control right now it's at Honda dealership and they're saying they're not sure what's wrong after seeing all the complaints I notified them that I felt that's what the problem was the steering box rack I do not feel safe or trust this car I'm trying to get the dealer to buy the car back

When driving at highway speeds steering sticks. Steering wheel does not move without more effort than usual. Being unable to make small adjustments freely means I must constantly drive with two hands in order to drive straight forward. When I noticed this I searched Honda recalls and found the exact same issue is being recalled for later models. This is a safety related issue because it prevents me from centering the vehicle in the lane.

POWER TRAIN

While driving on interstate vehicle lost power had to weave through traffic to get to pull off lane. Honda dealership states Replace the flywheel, pressure plate, friction disc (Clutch), and release bearing. car has 40k miles.

I took to dealership and asked if there was a recall and they told me only on newer models but not on my car model. The initial steering stuck in place causes delay when I need to steer quickly in traffic, I believe t’s a safety concern. My car only has 39137 miles on the odometer.

This is especially noticeable at highway speeds and during low-speed turns. It requires additional force to correct the steering, leading to overcorrection and a delayed return to the center position. The issue creates a safety concern as it impairs precise vehicle control and is most concerning while making corrections at highway speeds. Multiple owners online are reporting the same symptoms, and there are indications that this may be caused by a faulty EPS gearbox or steering rack. Honda has not issued a recall, and dealerships have not provided a lasting fix.

When trying to start the car the car won't turn over. When it finally does start and i am driving it seems to lose power as if it wants to shut down. Im afraid to drive long distances. I looked up recalls based on my vin however nothing comes up but when I look it up based on year make and model it has an open recall for faulty fuel injector that needs to be replaced for the same exact symptoms. Please help as i am 7months pregnant and afraid for my safety.

Steering is sticking similar to other model recalls. Increased friction, will stick in turn and not automatically release , you have to manually turn it back. Taken it to two mechanics who have notified us of recalls with the same issue. Is currently at North Park Honda and is attempting to bill my insurance. My son starts college this year and we're worried it may cause an accident.

I researched what "sticky" steering could mean, and I found Honda has an active recall for this exact issue; however, my 2019 isn't included. I visited a local Honda dealership (Tameron Honda in Birmingham, AL), and they confirmed that my vehicle needs an electric rack to fix my steering issue. However, American Honda will not replace it. Honda knows this is an issue but is refusing to take care of it, putting the safety of myself and all other drivers on the road at risk.

The steering on my 2019 Honda Civic has gotten progressively "sticky" when driving at all speeds but it is worse at highway speeds (50-75 mph). I have experienced several close calls lately when the steering wheel sticks when turning into a highway curve and causes my car to veer into the oncoming traffic lane. I took my vehicle into the local Honda dealer service department and they told me they would have to replace the entire steering gearbox at a cost of $4,250.00 due to a manufacturing defect. They said my car is out of warranty range at 54258 miles and there is no recall from Honda to pay the repair cost. I cannot afford that excessive cost and now am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle.

When I picked up the vehicle several days later, the fuel odor was minimal, and the check engine light was off. Today [XXX], the check engine light is back on. I plan to call Honda North to schedule what will be my 3rd visit to Honda North for this safety recall repair, which clearly is not being repaired properly, and putting me in further danger of crash or injury. The AC Compressor failed and has been leaking refrigerant. I went to Honda of Chantilly to get it fixed. They contacted American Honda who stated that on my Carfax I have a branded title. I called the Maryland MVA who confirmed that my Title for my car is clean. American Honda has a recall on The Ac Shaft compressor and is refusing to replace it. I ended up passing out because it is 105 degrees here and the AC system is failing. When calling Honda of America multiple times I was told that they cannot do anything because that they believe that the title is branded. I offered to show them proof and they are refusing. They still will not service my car and they will not fix the safety issue.

When driving on the highway (over 40mph) the steering wheel sticks making small corrections difficult. It feels like once the steering wheel is left in an orientation for more than 1 second something grabs the steering column and holds it. I’m sure it’s supposed to be a “feature” but it causes me to have to put in effort to make the small driving corrections and they end up looking like I’m swerving inside my lane.

Continued to drive to a safe location roughly a mile down the road and while enroute all the error lights illuminated and proceeded to state "Tire Pressure Monitor Problem" "Brake System Problem" "Brake Hold System Problem" "Power Steering Problem" and a couple others I don't recall. I lost my power steering while driving and my wipers proceeded to stop working, in a downpour. Contacted AAA who came and ran diagnostics which showed the alternator was dead. I then had to have my vehicle towed instead of driving it to work.

Jerking/sticky steering issue. I have heard many other drivers discuss the same with 2016-2023 Civics. Essentially anytime when I am driving, my car may jerk any direction and I have to re-adjust. This makes driving EXTREMELY dangerous. I have noticed similarly to other drivers that whenever my steering jerks in one direction when I turn it back, it makes a knocking noise (like knocking on wood). Very concerned about this issue as I don’t have any money to fix it.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the steering wheel seized while turning. There was an abnormal creaking sound coming tfrom he steering and the steering wheel was loose. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was like the failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the electric steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 57,219.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated that whenever the steering wheel was turned to the left or right there was a clicking sound coming from the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who stated that the steering wheel was sticking and referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the steering rack had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 71,900.

The steering rack has failed due to a manufacturing defect. This is also an issue with the newer civics as Honda has admitted. This problem was confirmed by an independent service center. It can be dangerous at higher speeds, the steering wheel is difficult to turn and I have to jerk it to regain control of the vehicle. Going around bends is also difficult to maintain control since it is very difficult to make precise movements of the steering. No warning lamps or messages at the time of failure.

Steering wheel is “ sticky “ at highway speeds and causes over correction. Honda is aware of the issue with other year models ( and has issued recalls ). Dealer has diagnosed and quoted $6,000 to repair. This is ridiculous, to rob customers on the repair of an obvious issue. Recall is needed for all models with this same steering system. Serious safety issue !

I can’t recall the exact mileage or the date, but I started having this issues but I’d say around 40-45K miles I started having what I’ve heard been called “sticky steering” when driving down the road the steering wheel almost gets a stuck feeling and I have to try and correct it back center, it mostly will try to pull towards the left side and I have to pull it back to the center. It does seem like it is stuck sometimes but I am able to correct it. It does this when I am driving at higher speeds probably anything above 45 mph. It can be scary driving long distances because I’m always having to use both hands on the wheel to try and control the wheel. I’ve also heard that it makes a “popping” sound when Turing the wheel all the way to one side mostly when backing up. I have reached out to a dealership before and they said they had no idea what I was talking about. I did not feel comfortable taking it to the dealership to spend all this money on something they did not know about. I’ve seen where there actually is a recall for this exact issue I’m having but it’s only for 22-23 models. I’m asking that this becomes one for the 19 or any other civic because this seems to be a serious issue. I fear that one day it will get bad enough to where I am not able to control my wheel and get into a crash. It has gotten worse as the miles go on.

Honda corporation refuses to cover the 2k repair cost eventho they extended the warranty on the AC condenser and AC compressor to 10years due to faulty parts causing premature failure. Those faulty parts caused my AC evaporator to leaking I believe Honda corporation is conducting unfair business practices by making their customers flip the bill for that shady business practices.

Unknown. Steering seems to stick when making small adjustments while driving straight causing the car to slightly jerk and oversteer the wanted adjustment. The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and then stalled. The contact stated that her husband had observed several unknown warning lights illuminated on the instrument cluster. The contact stated that her husband had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the High-Pressure Fuel Pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V763000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

The damage was to my rear windshield on my 2019 Honda Civic LX. The incident happened on March 19th 2025 at 5:30 PM while at a stop light. I heard a big bang or pop and initially thought that a big rock had been thrown at my car and assumed it smashed into the body. I immediately got out of my car and inspected the body quickly on my side only, fearing the light would turn green soon and I would need to resume my drive. I saw no damage. The left turn light became green and I proceeded to turn left. As I checked my rear view mirror, I noticed that my rear windshield was shattered, being held in place by the tint film. I was confused and did not know what happened. When I arrived at my destination, I inspected the glass and found no signs of an object striking the glass and causing damage. I went to the internet and looked for any incidents similar to what I experienced. I found that other Hondas have "Popped" and "Shattered" rear windshields in the past. The temperature on the date of the incident was a mild 72 degrees and sunny. The last time I used my rear defroster was a week ago. I did not use my AC/Heater on the date of the incident. I plan to see my Honda dealership and make arrangements with Honda or Safelite to get the damage repaired.

Received a recall letter that the part was finally available for repair back in October 2024 and every time I contact my local Honda dealer, they generally give me the answer to call back next month to schedule when it’s in their physical stock. Called today, now March and the Service rep said they’ll call me when the part becomes available. It’s been well over 60 days and haven’t been able to drive my car distance for safety concerns since most travel is on the NJ parkway.

Steering sticks in certain position to the left and has to be forcefully reentered (there's also a clunking noise that the steering makes when this problem occurs). Problem began about a year ago and I have taken vehicle in to be repaired multiple times. I believed it was a tire issue at first, however, after a few weeks ago I was assured that the tires was not the problem. This feature is incredibly dangerous as when wheel is forcefully recentered sometimes you haev to overadjust and you might almost hit someone near you. Extremely dangerous and I hope you guys take this issue seriously. I have visited many other threads and I see that in the state of florida alone theres about 10 other people who have the SAME EXACT issue.

The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel to the left or the right, the steering wheel required excessive force to turn. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with rack and pinion failure. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where the rack and pinion failure was confirmed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinon needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed of an unknown recall however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 56,064.

Sometimes whenI go to brake the brake pedal goes all the way up and I can’t press it down to stop the vehicle. This only lasts a few seconds then the brakes return to normal. I believe this may be due to a previous recall. “A common brake issue reported with the 2019 Honda Civic is a potential problem with the brake system due to a faulty tie rod fastener connecting the brake master cylinder and brake booster, which could result in improper braking and is currently subject to a recall by Honda” Not sure why my vehicle is showing 0 recalls under the VIN.

While driving highway speeds the vehicles steering becomes sticky or gets momentarily hard to move. Have to use force to correct while moving lanes and or going around a bend.

The fuel injector on my 2019 honda civic si went bad at 58,000 miles, which is over a $2,000 repair. Not only is this a widespread problem with Honda,..they KNOW about the fuel injectors being faulty and have discontinued the part, instead they have chosen another supplier to manufacturer the injectors without issuing a recall. This is blatantly a known defected part and Honda should immediately compensate/replace affected models. While driving, my car slows down and just stops. I’ve been lucky to pull over and get out of ongoing traffic but then it won’t turn on to the point where I’ve had to get it towed. This has happened 3 times already. It’s a safety hazard.

A issue Honda has with many of there civics but will do nothing about tell someone is serious injured. I called honda and told them about problem. but the will do nothing. So when I’m driving some would call it sticky steering where I have to correct the steering constantly this happens at slow speeds and way more noticeable and scary at fast speeds like I don’t even want to take it on freeway I have gotten a couple alignments done like 6 to many they say it’s spot on so why does my steering still have an issue.i don’t even have to move the wheel I can slightly move it left or right and it’s swinging that way bumps and bad roads are also the same i basically can’t drive straight and I don’t know why it’s never had the issue before I say till bout 70 or 80 k miles I’ve took it to Honda and they said there’s no way to fix it unless the whole camber or rack was replaced probably both I have kids and have to commute on a busy road I’ve almost hit people because the car can’t stay straight also when pressing on the breaks it will steer in either direction and have to fix that as well

I took my car in this morning for a recall. For the fuel pump. It took the dealership very little time to get my car out which was strange for me because originally they told me it would take 4-5 hours. Following the recall I needed gas since I was told to have a little under half a tank. I was on empty following the procedure. While I was pumping gas I had my hand help on the pump. There was not automatic pump enabled. My car keep taking the gas which was weird and then suddenly I saw gas leaking from my fuel point. I stopped the pump instantly. I soon called Honda but there was no pick up for a long time so I began driving a 3 mile trip from my gas station to the dealer. I started with 365 miles of gas remaining. Once I got to the dealer I had 355 miles remaining. Never in the years I have had that car have I seen my car consume so much gas especially on such little trip. Arrived at Honda. They are very nonchalant about the issue and I do not want them to rush the fix and create more damage and a bigger issue
