The infomatic system. It seems as if it has a mind of its own. It consistently randomly changes on its own. I have several videos of this happening. When this happens as its random its very distracting as it makes noises everytime it changes to a different screen. This also effects the GPS system. It randomly turns off and on. The navigation system is able to be used as its not reliable. I have tried to have 2 dealerships look at it but they need to take time to dedicate to finding a solution. They only turn the car on for a few min then off. They have copies of my videos. Yes the honda dealer made a very little attempt at looking at it. But stated Honda does not have reports of this problem. There is no warning when the problem happens.

Vehicle displayed numerous warning lights and messages like Emission system problem and other messages on the cluster gauge. Traveling on the interstate, the vehicle would not accelerate or maintain proper speed. Turned on the emergency flashers to warn other drivers to avoid an accident. Brought it to the dealership and found code P0087 Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low and informed me that the low pressure fuel pump is bad and needs to be replaced. The vehicle is out of warranty as it has ~85k miles.

The infotainment touchscreen/head unit in my 2022 Honda Accord Touring repeatedly registers random “ghost touches” without being touched. This defect primarily affects Apple CarPlay Maps, where the screen zooms, jumps, or changes routes on its own. On multiple occasions, it has caused me to miss turns and created distractions while driving, putting my safety and others at risk. The problem began around may 2025 and occurs frequently. There are no warning lamps or error codes. The dealer was informed but stated that there is no recall or service bulletin, and replacement would only be at the owner’s expense. This issue is widespread among Honda Accord owners, with many reporting identical ghost touch malfunctions online. Because the infotainment screen also controls navigation, climate, and audio functions, the defect interferes with essential driving controls and creates a significant safety hazard.

My touch screen glitches to the point where it changes stations, changes my navigation and it doesn’t fix itself at all even when I touch the screen. It’s a driving hazard especially when you are using the navigation. It just started and has been happening every time I’m driving, regardless if my phone is attached via Bluetooth or usb or not even at all now it just glitches.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The infotainment touchscreen is malfunctioning. It registers false inputs “ghost touches” without any user interaction. Yes, the vehicle and affected screen are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The ghost touches cause the screen to randomly change menus, activate or deactivate features, and make it difficult to use navigation, audio, and android auto with maps. This creates distraction while driving, as I have to focus on regaining control of the screen instead of the road, putting myself and others at risk. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The issue has not yet been officially confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but it is recurring and can be demonstrated on demand. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The infotainment system has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or others. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lamps or messages were displayed. The issue first appeared recently (8/2025) and has recurred intermittently since then.

the infotainment system frequently experiences phantom touches on the touch screen interface. This puts my safety at risk because it can make unwanted changes to the navigation system, audio source, or even make unwanted phone calls. Imagine driving on the road and suddenly you're calling emergency services. This problem has been reproduced by other Honda Accord owners and documented online. The only "fix" has been to have the infotainment system replaced, but it sometimes still persists even after a replacement. https://www.reddit.com/r/accord/comments/1fn6iwh/accord_is_useless_ghost_touch/ Honda has no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms. For the last 4–6 months, the infotainment display touchscreen on my car has been malfunctioning on nearly every drive. The screen registers phantom touches (as if multiple buttons are being pressed) when no one is touching it. Typical behavior: the audio switches from Bluetooth to AM/FM on its own, opens random menus, and then the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive for several minutes or until I turn the car off and back on. During a freeze I cannot change audio sources or select functions. This began as an occasional issue but has become more and more frequent. I have tried cleaning the screen and removed items from the rearview mirror to rule out reflections/obstructions with no improvement. Safety concerns: the malfunction is distracting and forces me to use my phone for navigation when the screen freezes and I can’t access maps through the car reliably when needed. My state has a hands-free law prohibiting touching/holding a phone while driving, so this defect creates both a crash risk due to distractions caused by the radio malfunctioning and a risk of citations for something outside my control. I contacted my local Honda service department on August 5, 2025. They stated they’ve performed software updates and even radio replacements for other owners with the same issue, but customers return with the problem, and they are not offering an effective repair at this time. I also filed a complaint with Honda today, August 14, 2025. I personally know another Accord owner with identical symptoms, and I’ve found numerous similar reports online dating back to at least one year ago. No crash, fire, or injuries to date, but the issue occurs almost every time I drive.

The radio/screen consistently glitches and acts like someone is pressing buttons on it when you are not. This includes turning the station, changing volume up or down, and becoming non responsive all together. If you do a simple internet search for honda accord radio glitching you will see hundreds of people with same issue; dealership has no fix to offer. This is a safety issue and should be fixed via recall.

The infotainment screen glitches out and selects options on the screen without human interaction. Whenever it starts doing this screen input disables making the screen extremely distracting while driving. During one of my trip, while I was driving on the highway, the screen started going crazy on it's own. First it cancelled my directions from google maps and kept switching out the screen to different apps by clicking on it's own. It was so distracting I had to pull over and turn off the car to reset the screen. It happens randomly so it's nearly impossible to reproduce to get it repaired under warranty.

I have to take my eyes off the road to address it. It’s extremely dangerous as it occurs so often now. Touchscreen glitches in its own. Taps all over the screen nonstop. Cannot safely put in directions to get to a location. Have to unplug my phone and use my phone screen for directions, which as a driver I’m not supposed to be on my phone. Also when it glitches it can go to my phone and call people while I’m driving, constantly have to take my attention off of driving to hang the phone up and exit the phone screen. When screen is turned off it will also turn itself back on. There is not fix to this for us only problems. I am reporting two safety-related issues with my 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid. 1. Head Gasket Failure At approximately 93,500 miles, the head gasket failed without any prior warning signs. The vehicle had been regularly maintained at Honda dealerships, with one service done by a third-party mechanic around 87,000 miles. There were no engine warning lights or coolant leak warnings before the incident. The engine temperature warning suddenly appeared while driving, and I immediately stopped the car. A Honda dealership confirmed the head gasket failure and quoted over $4,000 for repairs. This kind of major engine failure is highly unusual for such a new vehicle and raises serious concerns about long-term engine durability or possible design flaws in the cooling system or head gasket components. 2. False Activation of Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) The vehicle’s automatic emergency braking system frequently activates or issues a warning while driving, even when there are no obstacles or vehicles nearby. This has happened multiple times and creates a sudden sense of panic, increasing the risk of being rear-ended or losing control of the vehicle. Both issues suggest potential safety defects in this model. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate whether similar complaints have been reported for the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid, as these failures could pose significant safety risks.

I purchased the Accord new and bought an extended warranty from Honda (Honda Care). My car started having intermittent glitches with the infotainment system about 8 or 9 months ago. The system experiences ghost touches, freezes up, disconnects from my phone, randomly makes calls, hangs up on calls I actually make, will not turn off. Basically, this thing controls the car's brain. I have taken the car to 2 different dealerships and gotten the same response: there is no known fix at this time. Keep in mind, Honda has know about this problem since 2019. I contacted Honda Corporation. I have spoken to them several times. The second to last time I spoke with them (7/31/25), I requested Honda buy the car back. Today Honda called and told me that my car does not qualify for repurchase because I haven't had an inordinate amount of issues with the car. They further said, as we as we have a fix they will contact me and there was nothing else they could do. Remember, they have know about this issue for better than 6 years and, according to information I gathered from the internet, it has been prevalent issue with many people. Not only is this issue a nuisance, it is a safety issue as well.

The faulty touch screen infotainment system creates an environment that is not conducive to safe driving. This specific issue is referred to as the "ghost touch" across the industry which involves the system randomly rapidly pressing buttons autonomously and producing an audible beep with every press of the button. Not only is every random beep a distraction but this issue causes drivers to attempt to regain control of the infotainment system while driving due to the fact that most drivers now rely on these systems for navigation and to abide by hands-free traffic laws. You may ask "Why don't you simply turn the infotainment system off?". Well I tried and the system turns itself back on. This creates a scenario that is equivalent to the dangers presented by texting and driving. A simple google search of 'Honda Accord Ghost Touch' will yield a myriad of results with consumers experiencing this issue and sharing the same concerns. I have audio-video recording of this issue and have spoken to the service advisor at Pearson Honda located in Mildothian, VA and they are requesting that customers pay $180 for a diagnosis of this well known issue but they do not know the exact cause or solution. Customers have had their systems reset and even had the screen replaced and the issue still occurs. This issue has been present in my vehicle for at least 3 months but has progressively gotten worse overtime to the point that driving the vehicle is intolerable as it distracts me while I'm driving and causes a great amount of frustration which also effects my driving behavior.

I am writing to formally report a serious issue with the infotainment system in my 2022 Honda Accord. The touchscreen consistently exhibits “phantom touch” behavior — screens change on their own, controls do not respond properly, and essential features like navigation and audio become difficult or impossible to use. This issue has persisted since at least July 2025 and creates a significant distraction while driving, compromising safety. I have not yet taken the vehicle to a Honda dealership because I was informed there would be a $190 diagnostic fee just to assess the issue. Before proceeding, I conducted extensive research and discovered that this is a well-documented and widespread defect affecting many 2021–2022 Honda Accord models. Numerous owners have reported identical issues online and through NHTSA complaints. From what I’ve found, even when the screen is replaced, the problem often recurs — and Honda has reportedly advised some customers that no effective fix is available at this time. As a customer, I find this deeply concerning. This is clearly a known issue, yet no formal recall or technical service bulletin appears to have been issued. More importantly, it directly affects driver safety — particularly when it impairs the ability to use built-in navigation, manage phone calls, or adjust vehicle settings without distraction

My 2022 Honda Accord has a serious infotainment system malfunction, which has persisted since at least September 2023. The touch screen exhibits "phantom touch" issues — screens change erratically, and touch controls do not respond properly. This makes in-car navigation unreliable and forces me to use my phone for directions, which is unsafe and distracting. The dealership and Honda have acknowledged the problem and indicated it is a known defect affecting 2021–2022 Accord models. However, after nearly two years, no remedy or replacement has been provided, and all parts available are apparently affected. Honda has advised against replacing the display panels at this time. I believe this issue constitutes a safety concern due to the distraction and lack of dependable navigation, and I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate and prompt Honda to provide an effective fix.

Digital display (screen) is glitching by unexpectedly changing screens and performing operations by itself such as changing driving direction settings (GPS), and making phone calls while driving. The issue is not consistent, sometimes no issues are experienced for entire drive time, while other times it keeps glitching from start to finish of the drive time. There is no way to turn display off, and when glitching the display does not respond to any commands (touch screen). This sudden change of screens or performed operations take driver's attention away. The issue almost cost me an accident while driving on a highway. My wife afraid to drive the car since she does not trust its electronics now. Honda refuses to fix the issue and asks to replace the entire display unit without providing any diagnostic details on the issue also failing to provide explanation on why it is so inconsistent. If display is broken then it should be consistent...

While driving down the interstate the car lost power. The engine would continue to rev, but the car was not receiving power and was unable to accelerate. As this happened on the interstate where vehicles travel at high rates of speed, this was a safety concern because the car suddenly lost power. No lights lit up on the dash indicating a problem. Once the vehicle was towed to a Honda dealership, the mechanic stated that the belt in the CVT transmission had "disintegrated". He said this was not something that we could have prevented or foreseen beforehand.

steering feels tighter turning left than right. when turning left the wheel centers back up but when turning right it dosnt center. my alignment is fine when my wheel is straight it goes straight. it also likes to center up a little to the right. no one could fix this issue. i took it to a mechanic after multiple honda visists and they said it might be the steering rack. i took it back to honda after a clicking noise started happening when i turn at slow speeds or stopped and they said it was the steering rack but there was nothing they could do untill the investogstion for it was done

Woke up and started my car, all the lights were on including engine light. no adapter cruise, steering light was on. Screen also was saying avoid speeding. Every notification was telling me go to the dealer ship. I took it Howdy Honda in Texas and they said we will need to do a diagnostic and it was for 255 for to see what the problem was. They looked and said I had code for po172(rich) and misfire on p0301 told me I need to replace fuel injectors. Which cost 1933$. Which is way too much and fuel injectors a labor should be covered under Federal Emissions Warranty but they said no. So I am filing a recall for fuel injectors for my 2022 Honda accord sports se. I am unable to drive because it’s in limp mode. I also have documentation from howdy for quote.

While driving on the interstate, the car in front of my stepped on their brakes hard and immediately let off. I was several car lengths behind the car, but my emergency braking activated. The brake pedal went out of reach and I tried to step on the gas but the car would not accelerate. Two cars passed me on both sides, but luckily there was no one behind me or they would have hit me. The car went down to approximately 20 mph before I could again accelerate. The car in front of me was nearly 1/4-mile away at that point

Component: Infotainment system / touchscreen panel (Display Audio Unit) Description of Issue and Safety Concern: The infotainment touchscreen panel on my 2022 Honda Accord malfunctions intermittently and unpredictably. It rapidly and repeatedly switches between modes (e.g., FM, AM, Bluetooth, phone) in a spastic pattern, similar to Morse code. This behavior often renders the touchscreen non-responsive. Even when powered off manually, it will turn itself back on and continue cycling through modes uncontrollably. This poses a safety risk by: •Creating driver distraction due to constant flashing, sound changes, and alerts. •Interrupting navigation, Bluetooth phone calls, and backup camera use. •Making it difficult to adjust settings or audio without taking eyes off the road. •Forcing the driver to troubleshoot or disable the screen while driving. The issue has been confirmed and documented by an authorized Honda dealership, and the vehicle is still under warranty. However, the part needed for repair has been unavailable, on backorder, since 9/2024. Despite multiple attempts, the manufacturer has not resolved the issue. No warning lamps or diagnostic codes are present, but the defect remains ongoing and persistent. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. ________________________________________

I purchased my 2022 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 T in December 2021. Around 20k miles, I began experiencing issues with the steering. There was a sticky sensation that required exerting force. I took into the dealership on numerous occasions only to be told "there was nothing wrong" or that "the issue could not be duplicated". It eventually began to get worse around 52k miles, so around October of 2023, I began going back to the dealership, only for the same answers of "can not be duplicated". At 60k miles, the unfindable issue become discoverable (Not sure if they were being honest or they were waiting until my warranty expired to properly diagnose the issue). The service advisor informed me that I would need a steering rack replacement. I asked would Honda assist with the repair as I had began complaining about the issue well before my warranty expired. The advisor informed me that Honda would not assist. Fast forward, a week later, I reached out to Honda myself and they gave me a green light for assistance with the repair. They agreed to cover $2200 for the part itself and I was responsible for the labor, which left me with a balance of $1400. In December of 2023, I had the repair done and the vehicle was driving a little better at first, but still a little off. Of course the service department ensured that nothing was wrong and they could not do anything unless something breaks or the computer throws a code. Fast forward to around June of 2024, I began having the same issues with the steering wheel sticking, but was out of warranty as the dealership stated that the warranty was a 2 year/12k mile warranty. This is ridiculous to pay all this money for vehicles, have it repaired and have to deal with the same issue again. Honda is well aware of this issue, but instead of doing the right and ethical thing and issuing a recall on the steering racks, they'd rather sit and act clueless and oblivious to the issue.
