A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.

Risk: An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Risk: If the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Accord Sedan, Accord Hybrid, and 2019-2020 Insight vehicles. A software error may cause intermittent or continuous disruptions in communication between the Body Control Module (BCM) and other components. This may result in malfunctions of various systems such as the windshield wipers and defroster, rearview camera, exterior lights, audible warning of a stopped vehicle, and power window operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems" and number 111, "Rear Visibility" as well as FMVSS numbers 104, 108, 114, 118, and 305.

Risk: Various system malfunctions such as inoperative windshield wipers, defroster, rearview camera, or exterior lighting can increase the risk of a crash.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Backup camera has purple and green distortion that makes it hard to see what’s behind the vehicle when trying to backup. This is a permanent problem that can be inspected upon request. It involves a risk to myself and others by possibly causing injury or property damage. Asked dealership about it and they said it’s common issue and I would need a new camera. Not sure what caused it. It just happened one day and has been like that ever since for about 1 month. Contacted Honda Headquarters and they said they couldn’t do anything since there’s no recall with my VIN associated with it. Even a google search shows that there are too many others experiencing the same issue that this should be covered by a recall. It’s very dangerous to allow it to stay like this.

ENGINE

I attempted to start my vehicle's engine normally and the engine made a rough cranking sounded and then finally started. The dashboard displayed multiple warning messages immediately after: Emission system problem/avoid heavy acceleration and high speed/see your dealer, tire pressure monitor system problem/check tire pressure/see your dealer, brake system problem/brake performance may be reduced/see your dealer, brake hold system problem/apply brake when stopped/see your dealer, electric power steering system problem/steering assist reduced/see your dealer, vehicle stability assist system problem/reduced traction and handling/see your dealer, hill start assist problem/vehicle may roll upon brake release/see your dealer, adaptive cruise control system problem/see your dealer, collision mitigation braking system problem/see your dealer, road departure mitigation system problem/see your dealer. I was able to carefully drive and drop off the vehicle at the dealership. The dealership conducted an inspection and found "the check engine light was illuminated due to a misfire in cylinder two. The diagnosis has revealed that this is caused by a bad head gasket, which is allowing a small coolant leak into the cylinder. To address this issue, the technician is recommending the replacement of the cylinder head gasket and spark plugs. Additionally, the technician has noted that the fuel injectors are a known failure point and suggest replacing them as well while the work is being performed." Also, the service employee told me verbally that this is a common issue with the Honda 1.5 turbo engines and they see this all the time. I authorized the replacement of the cylinder head gasket and spark plus since the cost was covered under my existing powertrain warranty with Honda. After a week, the vehicle was released to me and working fine. My safety and the safety of others with a similar engine was put at risk due to no prior warning and the impairment of critical safety systems.

ENGINE

On August 25th 2025 we were driving the vehicle on the freeway at 55 MPH and upon acceleration the vehicle started to decelerate and the check engine light came on. The vehicle would not go over 10 MPH at this point. We took it to the dealership to have the issue addressed. They told us that the issue was a misfire in cylinder #3. They told us the vehicle will need to relearn the firing order and for the next 2 weeks the vehicle was rough idling upon startup. We called the dealership to make an appointment to have that issue addressed and took the vehicle back to the dealership. On September 10 we were told by the dealership the head gasket is blown. We were told that they are seeing that this is becoming a more common issue with the engine of this year model vehicle.

Had the failure occurred at a high rate of speed, on an expressway, loss of life could have occurred and no one would know what caused the accident since cars are usually towed away and declared “totaled.” Fortunately, I was on a road of 35mph but in just a few more minutes would have been at a speed of 65mph. There is a further safety concern that the dealer admits that there is a known problem with the OEM component but plans to continue to replace with the same product. Note: this car has a superior care record and only 110,000 miles which means the failure is likely to occur again with the same parts. Internet searches are confirming this is a known product failure with no recall.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, various warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the Lane Departure, Lane Keep Assist, ACC, and Blind Spot Detection warning lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the malfunction or warning lights were a result of the camera being faulty and that the camera needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

The paint on our 2018 Honda Accord is fading and the clear coat is no longer on the car on the areas of the hood, trunk and roof at this point. The roof is having issues with the paint peeling and rusting in all four corners. We have reached out to our Honda dealership and did not receive any help with this issue. This car is great shape inside and out except the paint issue. The paint should last longer and it should not be rusting. We do not want the rust to continue as it will soon damage our car.

ENGINE

Car has 60,675 miles with a blown head gasket. Prior to blown head gasket vehicle was brought to Honda in April 2025 for overheating, rough start and leaking coolant and was told fuel pump had a recall so it was changed, Honda did the recall repairs, performed oil change and checked everything else and released the car in working order but a week later after adding 175 miles more to the car it started overheating and had a rough start, the car was immediately brought back to Honda and they said it was a blown head gasket, the car was driven home that same day and left in the driveway undriven until September 3rd 2025 when it was towed to a different Honda dealership where it was confirmed to be blown head gasket and the cost is estimated at $6800 to repair. The car has had all recall issues addressed as well as all service and oil changes done to the vehicle, the car is driven for leisure and never in an unsafe or harmful way that could damage a head gasket.

On 8/19/25 the car went into limp mode again in a busy highway. Took it to a Honda/Acura repair shop. They again found the same misfire codes, replaced 1 spark plug, and the car was driving okay. This Honda/Acura shop found low coolant in the engine and believed I had a leaking head gasket as they have been seeing a high number of Honda 1.5L engines, similar years, with this issue. The shop suggested I contact Honda as it is a known issue. On 8/19, the Honda dealer service department told me they are seeing a lot of that issue but Honda has no current plan to extend warranties or issue a recall, despite the widespread, known issue. The dealership’s service department instructed me to call Honda corporate to discuss the issue and potential coverage. Corporate did open a case for a potential Good Faith repair. I was told that I would have to take it to a Honda dealership for official diagnostics, pay that fee out of pocket, then submit documents and info for coverage review. The car was driving okay for about 1 week and on 8/27/25, began having the same problems. I was able to get an appointment on 9/2/25 at the dealership. On 9/2/25, the dealership confirmed the head gasket is bad and the car requires head gasket, head bolt, belts, fuel injector, and coolant replacement, and oil change. On 9/2/25, the dealership confirmed the head gasket is bad and the car requires head gasket, head bolt, belts, fuel injector, and coolant replacement, and oil change. The dealership again acknowledged this is a known issue with the vehicle. These vehicles are stopping on busy highways (with speed limit of 50mph) and interstates or going into limp mode, not going over 20mph.

I was merging onto the freeway and my car went into limp mode. I was lucky enough to pull over to the side because I was on the far right lane. I have a 2018 Honda Accord EX with 104,000 miles. Head gasket blew and coolant is leaking. Upon further research this is a common problem that is now being discovered once the car drives past 60,000 miles. There is an internal memo asking dealers to let them know if they are seeing this too online. Honda has several class action law suits regarding this being a design flaw of the 2018 with the 1.5 liter engine. I spoke with Honda and they offered no assitance, stating out of warranty and no recall. This is their design issue and in my opinion responsible for repairing this. Otherwise out of pocket its a 5k plus repair.

While driving my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T, I experienced sudden coolant loss and engine overheating. Upon inspection by a mechanic, it was confirmed that the cylinder head is cracked, which is a known issue on the 2.0T engine. This creates a serious safety hazard because it can cause engine failure while driving, loss of power, or even fire risk if coolant mixes with oil. Honda has not issued a recall, but multiple owners have reported this same problem, and I believe it is a manufacturer defect. The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the steering wheel was extremely firm, with the power steering assist disabled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the steering gearbox and the rack and pinion were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

While driving, a warning message appeared on the dashboard stating: “Supplemental Restraint System Problem. See Your Dealer.” The airbag warning light also illuminated. At this time, it is UNKNOWN what specific component of the SRS failed or malfunctioned. and this issue first appeared 2 moths after purchase but its been coming on and half i don't know how serious this is. This malfunction places my safety and the safety of passengers at risk because the airbags or other restraint features may not function properly in the event of a collision. The problem has not yet been confirmed or repaired by a dealer, and no inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives has been completed as of this report. Car went into Limp mode, immediately brought to a Honda dealership. Planet Honda in NJ. Misfire in cylinder 3. Causation of misfire was a defect head gasket allowing coolant to flow into cylinder 3 causing a vehicle shut down and $3625 in repair costs. Warranty covered it but I have heard many other cases with this have not.

Paint at the center top of the vehicles roof is slowly starting to fade and chip away. I've always hand washed my car since I bought the vehicle in 2019. Noticed the paint at the top of the roof has been the only area where this is happening.

I forced me to move rapidly over to the right lane on a busy highway almost getting hit by a semi truck. Luckily I was able move to the shoulder and park the vehicle. I shut the vehicle off and tried to start it back up which it did but struggled to turn over. Using my OBDII scanner I found that multiple codes had appeared which included P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure to low and P0299 Turbocharger Underboost. Vehicle was towed to my residence where it currently sits until I am able to repair it. Prior to this happening there were No warning lamps or messages or symptoms. The failures first appeared while driving up hill. It was not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. The problem was not taken to dealer or independent service center to confirm since the car is out of warranty and cost to diagnose is ridiculously high. I myself diagnosed the failures and found that the mechanical fuel pump Part# 16790-5PC-H02 seized up and was not providing enough fuel to engine. And diagnosed that the waste gate actuator arm was to loose due to worn out bushings. (Poor engineering in my opinion since there is no way to replace just the bushings on the actuator causing customers to replace the entire turbo.) After replacing the mechanical fuel pump the vehicle was able to start up without issue and drives perfectly fine. I currently still have the fuel pump and the turbo is still in the vehicle if needed for inspection.

I was on speakerphone with Honda when this occurred. Had I not acted swiftly, a potential high speed rear end collision was likely to have occurred. I immediately took the car to Concord Honda. The team at Concord Honda performed a diagnosis and advised me that my head gasket was leaking water into the combustion chamber which resulted in the sudden loss of power. I was and continue to be dissatisfied with the handling of this issue by Honda as my car has never been handled by another mechanic. My car has a perfect or near perfect maintenance record and should not have a blown head gasket at 80k miles especially since my car is meticulously maintained and serviced by Concord Honda. The team at Concord Honda performed a diagnosis and advised me that my head gasket was leaking water into the combustion chamber which resulted in the sudden loss of power. I was and continue to be dissatisfied with the handling of this issue by Honda as my car has never been handled by another mechanic. My car has a perfect or near perfect maintenance record and should not have a blown head gasket at 80k miles especially since my car is meticulously maintained and serviced by Concord Honda. I was traveling at 55mph when the car lost power on the freeway. I had to make my way to the shoulder. I could only travel 10mph. I had the car inspected by an independent mechanic and Honda Dealership. I was told it was the head gasket. I am told by Honda it will cost $5500 to fix. I did some research on this issue and found it to be a design flaw due to the channels that are put in the engine block to pass coolant. I found this is a prevalent and Honda did confirm it. Honda denied helping to fix the car and even though they know about the issue. We purchased this car brand new in 2018 and we thought we had a reliable vehicle with Honda's reputation. Honda's good will program did not accept the case either.

On the morning of July 26, 2025, while returning home from a grocery shopping trip, my vehicle experienced a sudden and severe loss of power while traveling on an interstate highway with a posted speed limit of 65 mph. Without warning, the car ceased to accelerate and began to decelerate rapidly. I immediately activated my hazard lights and attempted to locate a safe area to stop. Vehicles traveling behind and alongside me were forced to brake abruptly to avoid a collision. Fortunately, no accident occurred, though the situation clearly presented a significant risk of one. After pulling onto the shoulder, I turned the vehicle off and restarted it. It initially appeared to operate normally, allowing me to resume driving. However, within a few minutes, the loss-of-power incident occurred again. I managed to pull over a second time, restart the vehicle, and continue the approximately 10-minute drive home without further incident. Upon taking the car to my mechanic, I was informed that coolant was present in one of the cylinders, indicating a failed head gasket. The mechanic advised that I bring the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership for repair. The Honda service department performed diagnostics and confirmed the head gasket failure. The repair cost was $3,758, which I paid in full. Subsequent research revealed that this appears to be a widespread issue affecting certain Honda models manufactured between 2018 and 2022. I discovered numerous consumer complaints online and learned that a class action lawsuit has been filed regarding this exact defect. Based on my understanding, head gasket failures are uncommon—particularly in vehicles with relatively low mileage. My vehicle has approximately 83,000 miles on it. While I am dissatisfied with the substantial financial burden of this repair, my greater concern lies with the serious safety risk posed by the sudden loss of power at highway speeds. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed.

Vehicle had a sudden loss of power. Pulled over on highway had to restart. Engine warning said Emission system problem. Had diagnostic done several codes PO300,PO301,PO302,PO303,PO304,PO172. Problem seems to be similar to the service bulletin 22-002 dated Feb 18,22 for the Honda Accord 2015-2016. It seems to be a known issue with this engine. Honda should take care of this safety issue.

07/30/25 - Over the course of 1 week, I have received three dashboard warnings "Supplemental Restraint System Problem. See Your Dealer" It goes away once car turns off. Honda of Katy states to bring in when alert still on dashboard (which will disappear when car turned off) but quoted will be required to sign a $215 diagnostic fee. No charge if it is just an error code. But $215 can be used toward repair. This is a SAFETY ISSUE and should be a SAFETY RECALL as owners should not need to pay for manufacturer DEFECTS. I can not afford to fix since still paying off the known issue of fuel injectors failing but not yet SAFETY RECALLED. Please help.

This is regarding TSB 21-087, Warranty Extension for 2018 Accord Paint B-757P Still Night Pearl. I was not informed in writing as per required customer notification in 2001. The extended warranty was for 7 years from date of purchase with no mileage limit. When I noticed the paint peel on the roof seams on the left side and right side of the roof, I asked the local dealership today on 7/25/2025. They said I was a few weeks past the expiration date and I had to contact American Honda. While at the dealership getting maintenance performed, I contacted them via chat and they directed me to call instead. I called Honda and they said once the expiration date has passed, there was nothing to be done. I asked for good will and she declined. They will not provide email of incident, as per my request, from discussion but did open case and assigned a case number. Honda stated my only recourse was to pay for damage out of my pocket or wait to see if Honda will possibly extend the warranty and that it was my responsibility to contact them since they will not provide any notification again. So, my vehicle will continue to rust from the paint peel on the roof on a daily basis in the Florida sun. Or I have the option to pay out of pocket now and, if warranty extension approved request reimbursement.

While attempting to pass a slower vehicle in my 2018 Honda Accord with a 1.5L engine, the suddenly lost power and stalled down to 20 mph while I was alongside the other vehicle. 2/24/2025 Safety Recall work performed at Honda Marin; change Fuel Pump per recall. 4/28/2025 I reported vehicle stalling/misfiring, decelerating on its own and all lights keep coming on as a result of Fuel Pump change. Marin Honda performed cleaning of battery cables; technician claims nothing is wrong with the car. [XXX] car stalled at intersection, I went back to Honda Marin and reported vehicle is still having the same previous issues and complained that this is dangerous to have the car automatically decelerated on its own. This time I requested only for a diagnostic from Honda Marin. They spoke to my mom, who was not authorized to approve any work on my car, stated no blown head gaskets but mis-firing on cylinder 3, fixed the issue, passed pressure test(s), no leaks; and car was up to factory specks costs $2812.77 charged to my mom. 6/03/2025 brought car back to Honda Marin, same issues; service dept. road tested for 4 miles and stated the car was working as normal. 6/11/2025 told Honda Marin that the car is stalling and misfiring again; car shut down while on freeway; Honda Marin claimed problem was a punctured hose, charged $10.34 car up to factory specks. 6/12/2025 Brought car back to Honda Marin; still misfiring, stalling and dash lights coming on. Car will not accelerate past 3000rpm.; car shut down while in far left land on the [XXX] going to Marin County. Honda Marin performed leaked down test failed cylinder #4; blown head gasket; verbal quote approximately $5500.00 to fix. In addition to engine failures I had battery issues as well. The car would periodically start to slow on its own while foot was still on the gas pedal which was dangerous in the middle of traffic or going 65 to 70 miles per hour on a highway. December 31, 2024 my car got towed to the Honda Dealership because the car stalled and wouldn't go past 15 miles per hour. Again the dash lit up. It was my understanding that it was because of the latest recall of the fuel pump issue that took over a year to be completed. The recall of the fuel pump was done January 6, 2025which took a week to complete and a week of work I missed with no available loaner car available to me. Once I got the car back the lights were not on the dash anymore but within 5 minutes of driving the car the lights came back on but the car did not stall and was able to go past the 15 miles per hour that was the original problem. Since January 2025 I have been dealing with these warning indicator lights and being the lights were on when Honda received the car to perform the recall I would assume a diagnosis would have been done but once I got the receipt there was no other issues recorded that was wrong with the car. There are absolutely too many Honda Accords with this problem. I've read everything from moisture in the tail lights triggering the lights, faulty battery, head gaskets, injectors to spark plugs. My car is no longer under a warranty and I have no means of paying for a guessing game when it comes to diagnosing the real problem with these cars. I went to enter the highway and the car would not accelerate and the check engine light was flashing and went into a limp mode. I got it looked at it it was giving me the misfire code for cylinder 2. I paid over $1k and had all the spark plugs replaced and coils. It was fine and then 6 days later it happened again. The mechanic looked at it pressurized with the bore scope and saw coolant. Then we knew it was the head gasket. This is crazy especially with Hondas being known for reliability. I’m at 87k miles and have been seeing that this happening to many others.

I took vehicle in because of all the sensors were going off. Honda ran a systems check and said fuel injectors needed to be replaced. It is all over the internet that this is a known issue and a recall was not issued. I spent $1500 on the replacement. These should not need replacing on an 18 accord with 80,000 miles. I begin having problems last year as I was leaving work and my vehicle wouldn't start. I had a 30 minute drive home and as I was driving home the vehicle didn't want to pick up speed to the speed limit of 65. I drove slowly home. I had already made an appt with the Honda Dealership where I get my car serviced for an oil change a couple days before. The next day I had a family member to follow me 30 minutes away to the dealership to drop my car off. When I dropped the car off I told the service technician about the problem. Later that day the dealership's service department called to tell me that I my head gasket had blown and it would be around $4500.00 to repair. I began to ask questions as to how this could happen I had kept up with regular maintenance. The service technician begin to tell me different reasons, and I asked how when I had regular maintenance and some suggested maintenance required as well. I had my vehicle towed from the dealership to get a second opinion. The technician I took my vehicle to was authorized to work on Honda vehicles, and he asked me if I was aware of the complaints customers were having about their Honda 2018 (same model) was having about leaking coolant, cracked or blown head gaskets on cylinder 3. I told him I was not aware so I went and did research and found there were numerous complaints about the same problem I am having and Honda was not acknowledging the problem or people had the repair done which cost a couple thousand dollars only to have their cars still not working properly or getting the same malfunction lights. Now I have to look for another car. Honda's are supposed to last.

The Head Gasket is leaking at 135k miles after changing oil and filter every 5k miles and flushing coolant every 50k. Just a cursory internet search will show you how obvious the design defect is in the head bolts of the 1.5 liter turbo engine and they should be recalled.

On 2025-06-12 at about 3:50 PM EST I triggered a remote start command from my phone via the HondaLink app to cool down the car before leaving work. When I went out to the car it had not started. I assumed the command had simply failed, so I returned home and parked in our attached 2-car garage at around 5:10 PM. At about 6:30 PM I opened the door between the house and the garage and heard an engine running. The car was found to have spontaneously started itself. I do not know precisely how long it had been running. It took me a couple seconds to recognize the situation and the danger, and once I realized what had happened I immediately closed the door to prevent carbon monoxide from entering our house. I tried accessing HondaLink to shut down the vehicle remotely but the app gave a message "Services Currently Unavailable". In order to safely shut it down, I opened the garage doors, waited a couple minutes for the garage to ventilate, then quickly moved in and shut down the engine while avoiding breathing in. We noticed a smell of fumes in our house near the connecting door. Both keys were in static locations (not in pockets, etc. where the buttons could have been accidentally pressed). They had been that way since I got home. I believe that HondaLink's servers sent the remote command to my vehicle *significantly later* than the command was requested. This is a major problem and safety checks should prevent a delayed command from having an effect on the vehicle, especially when dealing with engine start commands. The carbon monoxide buildup fortunately seemed to be minimal, although I am again unclear exactly how long the engine had been running. The vehicle will normally shut itself off 10 minutes after a remote start. However, the most dangerous situation would have been if the car shut itself off and then someone entered the garage shortly afterward without realizing that the vehicle had been running.

Hello, the fuel pump which is recalled on my vehicle failed and was replaced with an aftermarket pump so I could take it to the dealership. Various 2018-2022 Honda Accord owners had fuel injector failures caused by the faulty factory fuel pump molding. The fuel pump has been recalled; however, not before the fuel injectors fail. My Accord recently got an array of warning lights pop up on the dash while driving on the highway. I read the code and it was a cylinder 3 misfire. A diagnosis has led to the discovery that the fuel injectors are failing, most likely because of the bad fuel pump molding affecting the pressure of the fuel lines. Not only could this have led to my car stalling on the highway, it led to a complete disabling of my safety features while driving. Honda should be held responsible for the fuel injectors failing caused directly by their fuel pump molding deviation.

I would let up on the gas pedal then slowly resume pressure, which sometimes worked or sometimes didnt. I need a full head resurfacing job with new gaskets all around. New injectors and new valve cover gasket and everything around. This car has a design flaw and needs to be recalled for mediocre heads life. It almost caused me to get crashed from the back from a semi truck because the car decided to lose complete power while on the road. The cars recalls have been addressed but this whole issue with the faulty heads needs to be addressed. My vehicle is in the shop now and I will have to pay a little over $4,000 now. It's a hazard on the road when you get near to 90,000 miles.

Took in my vehicle to Rock Honda in Fontana at 125,000 miles for a second fuel pump recall. Two years ago my car stalled on me as I was driving on the freeway, it immediately decelerated from 65 MPH to 40 MPH, this happened before I had the first fuel pump recall fixed. Did the second fuel pump recall, and days later my car again began to decelerate from 50 MPH to 5 MPH. Brought it into the dealer and they told me my head gasket was blown.

I received initial notification of a safety recall for my Honda vehicle in February of 2024 and it stated the safety issues of a possible faulty fuel pump modular. The letter expressed that they have no available parts but were working on getting them. I then received a 2nd letter regarding the fuel pump in May of 2024 and that parts were limited so they were focusing on customers who were experiencing side effect/safety issues with their car. I then received a 3rd letter in November of 2024 stating parts were ready and I just needed to contact my local Honda dealership to have my fuel pump modular replaced free of charge. I have called my dealership on at least two different occasions and have also taken my car in to Honda since then for general maintenance (oil change) and I keep being told they do not have the parts. The last time I spoke with them, I keep getting told that they do not have the parts. I am also always told they will probably call me in a couple weeks when they have the part but I never received that phone call from them. I can never seem to get a straight answer from them and am always told another excuse as to why my car and my family's safety is not important enough for them. I've even been told some of those replacement fuel pumps are needed for their newer cars.

STEERING

I recently experienced a power steering failure on my 2018 Honda accord 1.5t sport. When going to pull into a parking spot when turning my wheel to the left the power steering failed leaving me on the road. With all the lights coming onto the dash unable to pinpoint a specific issue. Upon taking it to the dealer I was informed that I needed a new “gearbox, steering”. More specifically the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. They sent me a quote for $6,233.73. As I was unable to afford this I looked Into this issue. As this has been a problem for Hondas my car wasn’t qualified for a recall upon looking at the nhtsa website. I am able to provide proof and documentation of the quote with price parts and labor.

I am reporting an issue with the fuel injectors on my 2018 Honda Accord. It is a known issue but has no recall. Honda has no replaced the fuel pump on my vehicle yet. I have read of multiple issues with the fuel injectors and/or the head gasket going bad on the Accords. I noticed a knocking sound in my engine and a loss of acceleration power. I took my vehicle to the dealership and they reported an injector failure but it was not covered by Honda. My vehicle has less than 70,000 miles on it at this time. Car has 164352 miles and has had a transmission replaced and a head gasket replaced. The head gasket is a known issue from what I have seen and there needs to be a recall. I have read time and time again about these cars needing a head gasket. Please add this to your list. Total repair for transmission, $3600. Total repair today for head gasket, $2913.

As my car falls under this law suit and no legal action has been taken for it, I'm reporting that the Head gaskets for the 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5L are not properly designed for the wear and tear on a 1.5L turbo. I'm not great with describing car and there internal functions, so please refer to the active court case (3:24-cv-02286). This is an on going issue with the 1.5L Accords and is well known by the company. This issue typically comes with a ~$4500 replacement of the Head Gasket. In my case, I also head to replace 2 injectors that the dealer ship was saying were read as feeding rich. A common diagnostic that can also be caused by Coolant Leaks. These problems causes my car to flare every warning light available. I have no heat from the heater. My car sometimes won't shift or go into gear. I've yet to get this fixed as the mechanic is still awaiting word from me to proceed, so I don't have a invoice for the Head gasket repairs.

For the past four months, my check engine light has been turning on and off. One morning in traffic, my car suddenly went into limp mode. Fortunately, I was able to make it slowly yet safely to the nearest parking lot, but I had to get the car towed to different mechanics. Each one diagnosed a cylinder 4 misfire after running the computer diagnostics and checking multiple possible causes under the hood. A retired Honda mechanic mentioned he had seen this issue before and identified the fuel injector as the cause. When I researched my car on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, I found two different recalls. One related to fuel injector module failure and another for the fuel injector assembly. However, when I contacted Honda with this information, I was told that my VIN does not currently fall under the recall, despite experiencing the same exact issues. I was advised to get a diagnostic at a Honda dealership, which would cost a few hundred dollars, and then to submit a Goodwill request online, which is an unnecessarily lengthy process. I am requesting that Honda inspect this issue and add my VIN number to the recall, so I do not have to continue spending more money on a problem that appears to be a known defect.

Given the safety risks involved and the growing number of similar reports, I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue and hold Honda accountable for addressing the problem.

STRUCTURE:BODY

The actuator on the Drivers door would not allow the door to open. In the case of an accident the inability to exit the vehicle in case the passenger door was damaged or the damage was to the passenger side this would be a safety issue. The dealer repaired the issue by removing the drivers seat thru the passenger door then removing the door panel and replacing the actuator at the cost of $700 and 16 days. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle or the actuator. There was no warning before the problem occurred. I have checked the Honda Accord Forums and found this problem has been happening since the 1990’s so obviously the manufacturer should be aware.

Thus causing near accidents with my children in the vehicle. After getting the fuel pump module recall fixed I asked and had to pay for a diagnostics test to see what was causing the car to do this. We were told it was the fuel injectors and were quoted $2000 to replace those. That was done 4 days ago at the dealer, and it happened again yesterday! We took the car back to the dealer today and they have just informed us we need to replace the head gasket & turbo and had a coolant leak causing these issues?! Why that was never seen in the original diagnostics test nor a problem 4 days ago, but after spending $2000 we did not have to keep our family and others safe, we are now being told it will cost over $5000 to fix these now issues. We can’t afford that and now I don’t know what I am going to do! Honda needs to step up to the plate and take some culpability here and be responsible for what clearly appears to be a much needed recall for 2018 Accords! This is ridiculous. And for the service advisor to tell us this happens all of the time to these, if not daily, should speak volumes!

We were told it was the fuel injectors and were quoted $2000 to replace those. That was done 4 days ago at the dealer, and it happened again yesterday! We took the car back to the dealer today and they have just informed us we need to replace the head gasket & turbo and had a coolant leak causing these issues?! Why that was never seen in the original diagnostics test nor a problem 4 days ago, but after spending $2000 we did not have to keep our family and others safe, we are now being told it will cost over $5000 to fix these now issues. We can’t afford that and now I don’t know what I am going to do! Honda needs to step up to the plate and take some culpability here and be responsible for what clearly appears to be a much needed recall for 2018 Accords! This is ridiculous. And for the service advisor to tell us this happens all of the time to these, if not daily, should speak volumes!

My vehicle was under a recall for about 9months waiting for parts for Fuel pump to be available ( recall # 23v-858) to be available. While driving my vehicle went into LIMP mode in the middle of the highway causing me to swerve and have to off-ramp quickly to avoid high speed traffic. After my recall was completed January/25 my fuel injectors are starting to fail and same situation as before Limo mode in the middle of the high way. This is a domino effect from the fuel pump. Since the vehicle had a faulty fuel pump it caused an issue in the pressure and function of the fuel injectors. I find it outrageous for the consumer to have to pay for a safety issue that was cause by the company’s faulty part and lack of agility to react and fix the issue before it effected other parts. This has been a none issue in this vehicle but yet the consumer is the one have to pay 6k out of pocket to get it fixed.

February 2025 All the warning light on in my car came on. I took it Honda where they had me pay $250 for a diagnostics. At 85K miles, that's when I found out a had a blown head gasket and need a replacement.They also suggested a new fuel injector. They quoted me $7,000. My warranty just expired. This was my car and I didn't know anything about warranties and renewals. I always go to go Honda for my services and I had just visited a few weeks prior and they didn't see anything wrong my car. I received a Honda Safety Recall saying that fuel pump module may have been improperly moldered and could make it inoperable. On several occasions I have attempted to make service appointments with Piazza Honda of Limerick, which they have refused to help. They kept saying they didn't have the parts and when they did, they would let me know. I called 5-6 times and they kept saying the same thing. They were also the same dealership that when my car experienced a lot of the issues that were related to the fuel pump earlier in 2024, they fixed for me for around $2000. This is the only service center local to me and they're blatant disregard to repair a known safety issues after multiple attempts to schedule an appointment with them has led to this complaint.

They kept pushing me off telling me they did not have the parts and to call back in October. I took it to Branford dealership Honda, where I always do and they told me it was a battery issues and made me pay almost $300 for that. I have called Honda Dealer, John Eagle of Houston ( address: 18787 Northwest Freeway, Houston TX 77085 . phone number: 2815281165) for more than 60 days ago about the recal letter that I have received about my 2018 Honda Accord about replacing fuel pump. They informed me that the part is not available at that time and will call me when it will be available and till now I havent receeived any call from them.

OPEN RECALL ISSUES I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the unresolved recall issue with my 2018 Honda Accord. I am a resident of Columbus, Georgia, and have made multiple attempts to have this recall addressed by the local Honda dealership in Columbus, Georgia, but have encountered persistent difficulties. I have visited the dealership several times inquiring about when my recall can be fixed. On one occasion, I was informed that the manager stated the recall could not be addressed unless my car was experiencing visible issues. Despite explaining that I was already experiencing some of the issues outlined in the recall, I was denied service. A few months later, when I visited again, I was told that no parts were available for the recall. When I called a few weeks after that, my calls went unanswered. Most recently, after the birth of my child, I visited the dealership once again and was told that all parts for the recall were out of stock. I requested to be put on a list to be contacted once the parts became available, as I am concerned about the safety of my vehicle and the need to have the recall honored. Despite these repeated efforts, I have not received a resolution, and I believe my consumer rights are being disregarded. As per Georgia’s consumer protection laws, including those concerning automobile safety and recall procedures, manufacturers are required to honor recalls and ensure that necessary parts are available in a timely manner. The continued lack of response and failure to address this issue is concerning, especially given the potential safety risks involved. Please do note and keep in mind that I have came to the Honda business about 3 times . I am undecided of the actual dates but the year was 2024 . I know I went before I had my baby in September and after I had my baby I received a minor inspection due to me complaining.

The lettering of the gear shift and signal light/ wiper switches run off easily making it hard to see in dark places and at night. Bring that those switches are the most crucial when operating the vehicle the white lettering should be sustainable and durable making the visibility great whether driving during the day or night.

STEERING

The steering wheel "sticks" at dead center when on a smooth straight road. When I try to make a micro adjustment due to road crown, wind, etc., the wheel won't move without considerable force, then will suddenly give way and jump off center the direction I'm pushing. Then I have to correct back.

My Accord HG Issue Well my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5t that I’ve owned for not even 2yrs and | bought it with 54k and now has only 59k on it and has started acting up the last few weeks!!! It went into limp mode once a few weeks ago outta nowhere and just shut my car off and so I then turned it off and back on and it reset. Well fast forward a week later and limp mode again and so l hooked it up to a OBD scanner and said misfire cylinder 3 so l replaced the spark plugs and at that point. I then noticed the oil was low and due for a change and it smelled like straight gas. So drove a lil bit and limp mode again and again it said misfire cylinder 3!!! So then I decided to swap the coil pack and checked the spark plug again and seemed normal, also I noticed my coolant was below minimum so I filled it hoping that was my issue and cruised later and no limp mode so l thought I that fixed it, but one thing I noticed was at higher rpm’s in Ist gear the exhaust would backfire a lil but no limp mode. Well the next day I went cruising for a few hours and it was good all night but then on my way home it went into limp mode again!!! So Saturday was when I filled my coolant and Sunday after cruising I checked my coolant and it was still at full, well l checked it again on Monday night and it’s now in the middle of full and minimum and the new fresh oil smells like straight gas and also went down a lil!!! So then I had a buddy who’s a mechanic with borescope look at the cylinders and cylinder 3 was not great 4 had a lot of carbon build up and liquid in which looked like antifreeze and I also did another test that confirmed it was the head gasket!!! This is VERY DANGEROUS and a SAFETY issue BIG TIME because I was on the highway and all of a sudden I lost power at 70mph and couldn’t accelerate and had to pull over on the highway which was even more dangerous and had to shut it down and then it would reset and I was able to drive until it happened again!!!

My 2018 Accord Sport 1.5 blew the head gasket at 118,000 miles. I've always taken good care of the car—it's never been damaged or abused, and I’ve used the highest quality engine oil for every oil change at 10k miles, even though Mobile claims it can last up to 25k miles. One morning, on my way to work, I started experiencing a misfire as I pressed the gas when the light turned green. Suddenly, the car lost all power, and I had to turn on my hazards and coast to the shoulder. After turning off the engine and waiting a few minutes, I was able to start it again and barely make it to work. I initially suspected a bad spark plug or coil pack, so I replaced all four plugs and coil packs. The fix worked for a day, but then the misfiring returned. The code was reading “cylinder 4 misfire,” so I decided to take it to Honda for a diagnostic. They called me after the test and informed me that the head gasket for that cylinder had blown, quoting me $5,000 for the repair. I refused to pay that and decided to tackle the job myself instead. The dealership wanted to drop the engine and disconnect everything, even suggesting a transmission fluid change, despite the fact that I’d had it serviced just 15 to 20 thousand miles ago. After doing some research, I found a replacement head gasket for only $35 and went ahead with the repair. Everything was going smoothly until I hit a snag with the crankshaft pulley nut, also known as the harmonic balancer nut. Despite numerous attempts, it just wouldn't budge. I tried using a 1,200 ft-lbs 1/2” pneumatic impact, then switched to a 1,600 ft-lbs 1/2” Milwaukee battery impact, and even got a pulley lock to secure it in place with a breaker bar. Unfortunately, the pulley is poorly made! When we over-torqued it, we ended up breaking the pulley even more. We also tried a torque multiplier, which only made things worse. Now, the only way to get that stubborn nut off is with a 2,000 ft-lbs impact, but I still haven't managed to break it free.

PARKING BRAKE:ELECTRICAL

In addition, on several occasions, the contact stated that the vehicle was repaired before for the brake circuit and a parking sensor prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed with a possible sensor failure; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. Check Engine light came on along with several warning messages. The dealer ran diagnostic that showed error code P0304 recommending replacement of failing Fuel Injectors. The service estimate noted "no sign of leaking head, other cylinders also showing periodic misfire, fuel trims dropping below 0.9, indicating failure". This was very surprising as the car has mileage of less than 57,000 with regular maintenance done. The realization with safety came with recent episode on 1/7/2025 when the engine did not pick up speed after pressing accelerator and I had to pull back into parking lot. A call to Honda did not help as the representative said there is no recall for this model of car fuel injector but it appears there is know issue with the 1.5T engines from 2018. As the dealer did not help any further and gave estimate of $1600, I had no choice but to have the fuel injectors replaced with a car repair shop spending $1265. I believe firmly that Honda should acknowledge the issue with the fuel injectors and recall/ cover them under extended warranty. This would improve the safety of 2018 accord 1.5T.

My vehicle has 101,000 miles and the head gasket has failed and I could provide the vehicle for inspection upon request. The problem has been confirmed by a Honda Master Mechanic that the head gasket has failed. The failure of the gasket caused the vehicle to cut power of the vehicle while driving on the freeway. A warning on the dash came up that stated, that the vehicle is limiting power to the engine.

UNKNOWN This morning I started my car and nine code were thrown, my car was just serviced and inspected at a Honda dealership about a week ago and nothing indicated a catastrophic issue that is presenting itself now. Nine separate codes have been thrown an emissions system, two brake system, electric power steering, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, and road departure mitigation. After researching my car, 2018 Honda accord, there appears to be a trend of owners experiencing the same phenomenon occur, along with power loss that is triggered by cold weather. I live in Texas where it is usually hot and it is 20 degrees today. I am concerned that the failure of these systems puts me in danger while driving, I am also concerned why it was undetected only a week ago and seems to have totally malfunctioned now.

Intermittently flash warning lights on panel- all warnings at once. The vehicle maintenance log does not indicate the issues showing on the panel are relevant. It comes and goes, sometimes for weeks. Without any indication or warning, the car stalled/had loss of power for about 1-2 seconds and recovered and then about 1-2 minutes later stalled again and recovered. No dashboard lights ever came on. I thought maybe the clutch was failing again. I immediately got off the freeway to find a safe place to call for tow. As I drove to parking lot, my motor made a loud, uncoordinated, rattling noise which is towards the left side and near the engine cover. I thought it might be the serpentine tensioner because only the belt only had been replaced in May 2024. The rattle gets louder with high RPMs. After reviewing service records, oil change on 04/18/24 is the first mention of valve cover leak, and oil change 12/23/24 indicates possible rear main seal leak, residue around rear main cover which made me suspect gasket failure. The dealership denied the fault lies with tensioner or clutch and said the knocking sound is from the lower portion of the motor - possibly a faulty knock sensor - and the engine would not be disassembled to provide a more specific diagnosis. The dealership said a replacement engine is needed. No diagnostic codes or other specifics were provided. Dealership replaced fuel pump module per recall protocol. My and my grandchild's safety were jeopardized because my malfunctioning vehicle could have created a deadly traffic hazard among NYE celebrants who may have been driving distracted or with impaired cognitive function. In the past when my vehicle had stalled, it would lose power and I would have to coast off the freeway or to the side of the road. In those instances, my car created a traffic hazard & congestion for the vehicles behind me and toward the side that I was trying to exit.

I paid $200 to have them diagnose and tell me the issue. I drove my vehicle to the dealership thinking that this could have been a sensor issue. Had I known that this was the problem, I would have had it towed there. The vehicle is now at my home parked. I researched this issue and from what I've seen, there are several consumers that are experiencing the issue. I own a 2014 KIA Soul that experienced a similar issue. Hyundai/KIA performed the repair FREE of charge and also provided me with a rental. I am currently still financing this Honda Accord and I think that it is completely unfair to the consumer to pay upwards of $4K for something that is clearly a manufactures issue. Aside from replacing the gasket, they also included replacing the spark plugs, timing chain, etc. This was my dream car but has since been a nightmare knowing that not only do I have to continue to pay the note but to pay $4K for repairs that aren't my fault. I maintain the oil changes for the vehicle and any other recommended services. Someone needs to hold them accountable to stand by their product.

POWER TRAIN

I was on the highway with moderate traffic. My car would no longer accelerate due to a blown head gasket out of nowhere, I was on the far left lane and had to traverse over 5 lanes in moderate traffic while other drivers on the highway were going 60+ mph. This is a common issue among Honda Accords with the 1.5 engines.
