Hankook Tire America Corp. (Hankook) is recalling certain Kinergy GT tires, size 235/60R18H H436. The tires contain a tire identification number (TIN) that is missing the 4-digit week and year code mark. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 574, "Tire Identification & Recordkeeping."
Risk: Missing TIN information can make it difficult for tire owners to identify a tire involved in a recall. Owners may continue to drive on recalled tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

Hankook Tire America Corp. (Hankook) is recalling certain Kinergy GT (H436) tires, size 235/50R19H with DOT code 0521. The tires may have been manufactured with an insufficient amount of curative agent, which could cause tread separation.
Risk: Tread separation can result in tire failure and a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox equipped with Hankook Tires, Tire Line: Kinergy GT, Tire Size: 235/50/R19, DOT Number 00T231BH03623. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was vibration coming from the vehicle, and the contact became aware that the stopping distance was extended while coming to a stop on wet roads. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local tire shop, where it was determined that all four tires needed to be replaced due to premature wear. The contact stated that the wear marker was visible on all the tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer and was referred to the tire manufacturer, who advised the contact that the tires were manufactured as requested by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 25,316.

My new car Honda Accord purchased less than a month ago, had a front passenger sidewall fail while driving about 40 mph. No potholes, smooth road. The interior sidewall failed, leading to a flat tire, damaged rim and my low tire pressure gauge never went off. I replaced the damaged tire with the spare and after driving home, the tire gauge finally went off (8 miles later).
