2013 GOSHEN GCII Complaints and Recall Information

The 2013 GOSHEN GCII has 0 complaints and 5 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to safety equipment and mobility systems, as reflected in the recall data.

There are five recalls that affect components such as air conditioning appliance mounts, seat belts, and wheelchair lifts. The recalls mainly target safety and equipment reliability concerns.

Recalls
  • Air conditioner compressor mount. Recall 15V328000 affects 5 vehicles due to improperly reconnected power distribution terminal strips on certain Trans-Air add-on compressor mount kits. This may cause arcing or overheating, increasing fire risk. Dealers inspect and correct connections free of charge.
  • Front seat belt webbing. Recall 15V413000 covers 2432 vehicles with seat belts that may fray from rubbing against metal seat frames. Frayed belts might fail to restrain occupants in crashes. Dealers install protective sleeves and replace affected belts at no cost.
  • Wheelchair lift link arms. Recall 15V748000 involves 1442 vehicles equipped with Ricon wheelchair lifts that have oversized pivot holes, allowing bearings to shift. This can cause the lift platform to move excessively and potentially fall out when doors open, risking injury. Inspections and part replacements are provided free of charge.
  • Wheelchair lift platform side plates. Recall 14V637000 impacts 1330 vehicles with lifts prone to cracking platform side plates. Cracks may cause the platform to separate and fall when doors open, creating injury hazards. Owners receive supplemental bumpers or platform replacements at no charge.
  • Wheelchair lift positioning cam. Recall 19V102000 covers 73 vehicles where the lift input cam may fail, allowing the platform to rise above vehicle floor height. This defect increases the risk of wheelchair users tipping when exiting. Dealers replace the input cam free of charge.

Owners facing repeated repairs related to these safety defects or unresolved recall issues may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting with a qualified attorney could help determine available options.

EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY

Eldorado National- Kansas (Eldorado) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Goshen Impulse, GCII, and Pacer shuttle buses equipped with Ricon S-Series and K-Series Wheelchair lifts, models K200, K201, K550, K551, S200, S550, S551. The wheelchair lift positioning input cam may fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to travel higher than the vehicle's floor height. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 403, "Platform Lift Systems."

Risk: If the wheelchair lift platform stops above the vehicle floor, the wheelchair user can tip inwards toward the vehicle when exiting the lift, increasing their risk of injury.

EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY

Goshen Coach (Goshen) is recalling certain modle year 2006-2015 Pacer, Pacer LS, Pacer LTD, GCII, Impulse, Connection, Commander, G-Force, G-Force Access, G-Force LTD, Sentinel, Sentinel UC, and Mainstream Low Floor buses manufactured January 1, 2006, to October 19, 2015, and equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts manufactured by Ricon. The affected lifts are equipped with folding link arms that may have pivot holes that are too big, allowing the bearings to move out of position.

Risk: If the bearings move out of position, the stowed platform may have excessive movement resulting in failure of the platform mounting. This failure could cause the wheel chair lift platform to fall out of the vehicle when the doors are opened, increasing the risk of injury for the lift operator.
