GM IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006-2009 BUICK, LUCERNE; CADILLAC DTS; HUMMER H2; MODEL YEAR 2008-2009 BUICK ENCLAVE; CADILLAC CTS; MODEL YEAR 2007-2009 CADILLAC ESCALADE, ESCALADE ESV, ESCALADE EXT; CHEVROLET AVALANCHE, SILVERADO, SUBURBAN, TAHOE; GMC ACADIA, SIERRA, YUKON, YUKON XL; SATURN OUTLOOK; AND MODEL YEAR 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A HEATED WASHER FLUID SYSTEM (HWFS). HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN NEW REPORTS OF THERMAL INCIDENTS ON HWFS MODULES AFTER THIS IMPROVEMENT WAS INSTALLED. THESE INCIDENTS RESULTED FROM A NEW FAILURE MODE ATTRIBUTED TO THE DEVICE'S THERMAL PROTECTION FEATURE. THE SIGNIFICANCE VARIES FROM MINOR DISTORTION TO CONSIDERABLE MELTING OF THE PLASTIC AROUND THE HWFS FLUID CHAMBER.

Risk: IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE HEATED WASHER MODULE TO IGNITE AND A FIRE MAY OCCUR.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon XL. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 MPH, all the air bags were independently deployed, except the driver's steering wheel air bag. The contact pulled over and had to cut all the side curtain air bags and the passenger’s side front air bag which were blocking the view of the road. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000.

SEATS

I have a 2007 GMC Yukon. This car has been converted from the inside into a small limousine. Bench to bench with drinks bar in the middle. I would like to ask you, if I give you the chassis number, can you check if this car was converted at your factory? Can I receive a letter from you documenting this change? Attached are pictures of the car

POWER TRAIN

In June 2021 at approximately 168,000 miles the engine suffered catastrophic engine failure while driving. I was forced to replace the engine at my cost as it was out of the original warranty. I was told the cause of the engine failure was due to low oil pressure over an extended prior of time from worn engine bearings which resulted in a dropped value in cylinder #7 and #8.
