No traffic collision. Preemptive report. Headrest positioned so far forward that head is forced into a downward position. Unable to comfortably maintain eye contact with the road in this position (photo attached). Only remedy is to have headrest positioned so far down that it would cause decapitation in a collision. I was not aware of the decapitation risk when purchasing the vehicle. GM initially stated the dealership should have remedies in the form of alternate parts to be installed at the dealership. Dealership stated that is not the case and they do not have any resolution available.

when backing up brakes abruptly apply themselves for no reason at all. This happens all the time the dealer says there is no problem with my vehicle, but the rear breaking abruptly keeps on applying.

While 2 hours from home driving down the interstate with a full vehicle, the vehicle alarmed and the screen notified "No Oil Pressure, Turn Car Off Now". I pulled over immediately and we had to sit on the edge of the interstate for 45 minutes - a safety hazard for us and the surrounding traffic. The vehicle was towed to the nearest GM dealer, where they assessed the vehicle and advised that this is a known issue for 2024 and 2025 GMC Acadias and Traverses. The vehicle failed to move oil and the engine was seized - a significant safety hazard. After a month, GM has informed us that zero replacement engines are available in the world and there is no timeline for replacement or repair and the vehicle is unusable.

When backing up and nothing behind car abruptly applies brakes no alerts. This has occurred on multiple occasions and is very scary. This started first week of ownership took to the dealer and was told GM is aware of the issue but no repair available at the time. the car is a year old now and problem is still present I have had to disable the braking feature. The backing emergency braking is a safety feature so pedestrians / children don’t get run over.

Rear driver's side brake light/turn signal is out. This is the second time in under a year. Local GMC dealer is not able to replace it within a reasonable amount of time causing a safety issue. This is a well known issue to GMC which is why the part is on back order. No other dealers in my area have the part in stock.

Leaking transmission fluid- transmission fluid all over the underbody of my car. No reason to be leaking. Can’t find where it’s coming from. Every time I park than move to leave there is a puddle of transmission fluid.

I am filing a complaint about my 2024 GMC Acadia AT4, leased brand new from Frank's GMC in August 2024, now with a little over 8,000 miles. The brake pads are worn to 35% life, far below the expected 30,000-70,000 miles, with loud squealing, fluid leakage, and odors. This poses a severe safety risk to my family and others, as compromised brakes could fail. In October 2024, before my 3,000-mile oil change, I reported brake concerns to Frank’s GMC service manager, Javier, who advised waiting. After the November 2024 oil change and tire rotation, only three months after obtaining my vehicle, Javier claimed no issues, despite my prior warnings. The problems worsened, with squealing, leakage, and odors persisting. My March 19, 2025, service appointment was delayed, calls ignored, and follow-ups never occurred. Sales manager Khaled stated that owner Frank confronted Javier about avoiding service issues, yet no action was taken. I contacted ten GMC service departments in PA, CT, and MD; they reported similar AT4 brake issues, some citing total brake failure. I spoke with GM corporate supervisors, who referred me back to the dealer. Frank’s GMC inspections overlooked my concerns. A local police department safety inspection unit confirmed the issues, but no manufacturer or insurance inspections occurred. The vehicle is available for inspection. I urge NHTSA to investigate this premature brake failure and ensure the 2024 Acadia AT4’s safety. The email screenshot I included was sent in April. I contacted the same GMC dealerships that previously reported no issues to check for updates, and they confirmed a change. All of them now report the same problem with brake pads and/or brake failure. This issue is covered under warranty and should be replaced without issue, but dealers are not complying. If overlooked, this could become a national concern

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Acadia. The contact stated there was an abnormal squeaking sound coming from the vehicle while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the brake pads were replaced; however, the failure returned several days later after the repair. In addition, the contact stated that transmission fluid was leaking from the vehicle. The contact also stated that both taillights had failed to operate as needed and the message "Check Left Rear Turn Lamp" and "Check Right Rear Turn Lamp" messages were displayed a day apart. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the mechanic confirmed that there was a transmission fluid leak due to defective bolts. The dealer also replaced the rear taillights. The contact was also informed that there were no issues with the brakes, even though there was a noise coming from the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

The Vehicles engine siezed at 6,400 miles leaving us stranded on the side of the freeway for 3 hours and GMC is trying to PIN the blame elsewhere. Car has been in the shop for 3 weeks and they are unsure if it will be covered by warranty. The only thing done to the car was an oil change performed at a GMC dealer.

My vehicle is 3 months old with 4650 miles. I was driving on the turnpike and without notice a warning on the dash advised that there was no oil pressure and to pull over. I had the vehicle towed to a dealer out of state since we were 3 hours from home. The dealer called today to advised the car needed a new engine. I asked what was the route cause and they advise the GM did not require the engine to be stripped to find one.

When pressing brakes to start the car the pedal goes all the way to the floor with little or no resistance. It has happened three times in 3 months. Took it to GM dealer after the first two incidents and they did a software update. Took it in again after the third incident and they did nothing.

ID: 2061511FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
While using the super cruise system I am experiencing unexpected braking of the car as it thinks it is about to rear end the vehicle in the right lane it is passing in the left lane. This happened multiple times on a recent highway drive. I am worried I am going to be rear ended by cars following me or the victim of road rage as it appears to other drivers I am brake checking them while in the passing lane. Additionally the adaptive cruise control and super cruise seem to fail to detect the vehicle immediately in front of me and fails to slow down with adaptive cruise control or attempt to change lanes when using super cruise. In both instances I have to manually brake and or change lanes to avoid a rear end collision. While manually driving the vehicle I am also receiving collision alerts when overtaking cars in the right lane while I am passing them in the left. The super cruise was able to identify cars entering the highway from on ramps multiple times and would auto lane change correctly. This leads me to believe the sensors are working but software may not be utilizing correct distance analysis when slamming on brakes as it passes a vehicle. I am scheduling a dealer service call, but feel like they will tell me there are no computer errors. There are no recalls on file. The on-star monitoring is reporting no errors. Seems like a design flaw, logic error that will require a software update.
