2025 GENESIS GV60 Complaints and Recall Information

The 2025 GENESIS GV60 has 2 complaints and 8 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with the 12-volt battery failing to hold a charge, causing the car to become completely inoperable and requiring manual intervention to jump start. One complaint notes an unresolved problem with the battery that persisted after a recall in 2024.

Eight recalls affect various electrical and safety systems on the vehicle. These recalls address software errors in the instrument panel, rearview camera malfunction, and problems with the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) that impact the 12-volt battery and drive power. Repairs typically involve software updates or replacement of faulty components and are provided free of charge.

Common Issues
  • 12-volt battery failure. Battery stops recharging, causing the vehicle to go completely dead and disabling all instruments, sometimes requiring jump starts or recharging.
  • Battery charging defect. The Integrated Charging Control Unit may become damaged, stopping the charging of the 12-volt battery and leading to loss of drive power.
  • Car inoperable post recall. At least one owner reports unresolved battery charging problems after prior recall work, with the vehicle remaining nonfunctional while at the dealer.
Recalls
  • Instrument panel display. (NHTSA Recall 25V474000) A software error can cause the instrument cluster to fail, hiding critical safety information such as the speedometer and warning lights. Affects 4,754 vehicles. The display software will be updated over-the-air or by a dealer at no charge.
  • Rearview camera. (NHTSA Recall 24V584000) The rearview camera may shut off when reversing, reducing driver visibility and increasing crash risk. Affects 1,488 vehicles. Dealers will update the camera software free of charge.
  • Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). (NHTSA Recall 24V868000) The ICCU may be damaged and cease charging the 12-volt battery, causing loss of drive power with increased crash risk. Affects 145,642 vehicles. Repairs include inspection, ICCU and fuse replacement as needed, and software updates, all free of charge. This recall expands and replaces recall 24V-204, requiring even previously repaired vehicles to receive the updated remedy.

Owners facing repeated battery failures, unresolved recall repairs, or safety system malfunctions may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting with a consumer protection attorney specializing in lemon law could provide guidance on potential remedies.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The 12 volt battery does not recharge resulting in the car going dead. All instruments are blank. The car has been in the dealer's service department since April 28 and they not been able to fix the problem.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The 12 volt battery on the EV car has gone dead twice since I took delivery on the new car in January 2025. When that happens the car is completely dead and must be manually accessed to open the hood and jump start the car. The first time the car would function once jump started. The second time the car would not stay "running" and the battery had to be recharged for the car to function. This problem seems to be the same as the issue that prompted the recall of this car and others in the fall of 2024. It appears that the problem was not corrected in new cars produced.
