2022 GENESIS G70 Complaints and Recall Information

The 2022 GENESIS G70 has 6 complaints and 4 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with headlight condensation and cracks leading to replacements, as well as inconsistent operation of forward collision warning, blind spot, and parking collision warning systems.

  • Headlight condensation and cracks. Multiple owners report water or condensation inside headlight assemblies, leading to cracks and repeated replacements. Some experienced these problems after washing the vehicle or with mileage around 14,000 to 32,000 miles.
  • Forward collision warning inconsistency. The system sometimes functions at long distances but often fails at short distances, impairing its reliability.
  • Blind spot and parking collision warning malfunction. The system does not always detect objects, especially pedestrians, resulting in multiple collisions. Manufacturer contact did not resolve the problem within months.

There are four recalls affecting engine components, fuel system, and ignition systems that involve tens of thousands of vehicles. These recalls address risks including fire and loss of drive power.

  • Turbocharger oil feed pipe leak. (NHTSA 24V191000) About 28,439 vehicles are affected by deterioration and oil leaks in the left turbocharger oil feed pipe. The defect raises fire risk from oil contacting hot engine parts. Dealers will replace the pipe free of charge. Owner notification was sent in May 2024. Previous repairs under recall 19V-538 must be redone with this remedy.
  • Fuel pump failure risk. (NHTSA 24V528000) 54,647 vehicles have a fuel pump defect that may cause loss of drive power and increase crash risk. Dealers will update the engine control module software and inspect or replace the fuel pump assembly as needed at no cost. Notifications began in September 2024.

Owners facing repeated repairs, unresolved safety defects, or outstanding recall work may have rights under state lemon laws. They should consider consulting an attorney for guidance on next steps.
