There are five recalls associated with this vehicle affecting multiple systems including the engine and engine cooling, fuel system, and exterior lighting. These recalls address risks such as unexpected engine shutdown, potential fire hazards from electrical short circuits, fuel leaks, and reduced rear visibility.

  • Engine shutdown risk. Recall 10V112000 affects 16 vehicles due to engine shutdown when a diesel particulate filter overheats, which could hinder emergency response operations. The fix is reprogramming engine control logic to avoid shutdowns.
  • Grid heater short circuit. Recall 10V341000 covers 5,743 trucks where the intake air grid heater may short circuit and cause fires. Repairs include replacement or modification by authorized dealers free of charge.
  • Grid heater failure follow-up. Recall 11V146000 affects 2,073 vehicles with the same grid heater defect as recall 10V341000. Notification and repair are scheduled to eliminate fire risk.
  • Fuel line leak. Recall 11V478000 involves 73,500 vehicles with plastic low pressure fuel lines that may leak diesel fuel, posing fire and crash hazards. A steel fuel line replacement is provided at no cost.
  • Rear reflective tape obstruction. Recall 20V214000 concerns 63,175 trucks where mudflap hanger brackets partially cover rear reflective tape, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk. Dealers will reposition the tape free of charge.

Owners dealing with repeated repairs or unresolved recall issues involving safety or engine system defects may have rights under their state’s lemon law.
