Recalls
  • Engine software defect. Recall 10V472000 affects 58 vehicles equipped with EPA 2007 MBE 900 Detroit Diesel engines. The engine software may improperly react to aftermarket treatment device fault codes, causing unnecessary shutdown or failing to shut down on over-temp faults. This can increase crash or fire risk. Repairs are performed free of charge by Daimler Trucks and began December 30, 2010.
  • Plastic fuel line leak. Recall 11V478000 affects 73,500 vehicles with EPA04 MBE4000 engines having plastic low pressure fuel lines near the engine’s left side. The plastic line may leak diesel fuel, creating road hazards and fire risk. The plastic line will be replaced with steel free of charge by authorized facilities. Recall began February 21, 2012.
  • High pressure fuel line support. Recall 12V074000 includes 103,437 vehicles with certain Detroit Diesel engines made between 2006 and 2013. The pump to rail high pressure fuel line support can loosen from assembly torque sensitivity, possibly causing fuel line cracking and leaks. Fuel leaks increase crash and fire risk. Affected components will be replaced free of charge, with recall starting April 27, 2012.
  • Brake light switch fault. Recall 10V178000 affects 8,971 vehicles from 2005 through 2011. The stop lamps may operate intermittently during light brake applications, reducing braking signal visibility and increasing crash risk. Daimler will repair the fault free of charge beginning May 27, 2011.
  • Rear reflective tape coverage. Recall 20V214000 covers 63,175 vehicles from model years 2006 to 2021. Mudflap hanger brackets may partially cover rear reflective tape, decreasing vehicle visibility and increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and reposition the tape free of charge. Recall started May 29, 2020.
