TIRES:MARKINGS
Prinx Chengshan Tire North America, Inc. (PCTNA) is recalling certain Fortune Tormenta and Prinx Hicountry sold as replacements tires. Please refer to the 573 Safety Report for specific sizes. The tires are labeled as snow tires, but do not have sufficient traction to perform in all snow weather conditions. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."
Risk: Tires that do not provide sufficient traction in snow can increase the risk of a crash.

The tread on all 4 tires wore down faster than it should have, traction in the rain and snow was terrible, tire rotations were done at home, balancing was done at my local shop in town. I had the LT285/70r17 and replaced them as soon as the recall came out. I had the tires replaced at Moffits Ford in Boone, Iowa. They disposed of them there. I would like to know how to go about reimbursement for these tires I spent so much money on.

LT265/70R17, I received a recall notice from Amazon where I purchased a set of 4 tires. I only use these tires for winter driving and the notice states I should remove them immediately. They do not say for me to purchase new ones at the same time or if I will be reimbursed for any (all) cost. I still have around 70% of wear on them and am in the mid-winter season of McCall ID. I can't see any fault at this time and will keep trying to contact Prinx Chengshan Tire North America, INC. Notice: NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 24T014000.
