ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

There was a fire in our Aquahot system that melted a relay, burned through wires, and has led to ongoing problems with the Aquahot for the past 4 years. The first repair facility indicated that the Aquahot was installed with the hot water connection directly over one of the relays. When this connection leaked, it leaked directly onto the relay, which was unshielded in any way. This problem was both predictable and preventable and represents a very serious, and potentially deadly, design flaw. At some point, after purchasing the RV, it was determined that the second electrical line was improperly wired in such a way that the system was constantly overheating, at one point rupturing the hot water line and causing diffuse damage to the Aquahot unit that continues to malfunction to this day. Please see accompanying work orders and pictures. Please contact me if you are unable to view the work orders as they document the issues previously described in this report.
