2025 FOREST RIVER CAMPSITE RESERVE Complaints and Recall Information

The 2025 FOREST RIVER CAMPSITE RESERVE has 2 complaints and 3 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues with multiple leaks from slide-outs and air conditioning vents, as well as structural problems like screws detaching from the floor and doors failing to latch securely. Problems with defective window caulking and separated drainpipes are also reported.

Common Issues
  • Slide-out leaks. Living room and bedroom slide-outs leak water into the respective interior areas, including the kitchen and bedroom.
  • Air conditioner leaks. AC vents leak water inside the camper while operating, including leaks onto the sliding door area.
  • Structural hardware failures. Screws detach from floors and entertainment center doors, causing components to fall and nearly injure occupants.
  • Door latch failure. Sliding doors do not latch or lock securely, compromising closure and safety.
  • Fractured flooring. Floors in the dinette area have fractures that affect structural integrity.
  • Defective window caulking. Caulking around windows fails, allowing air to enter through the sides of windows.
  • Separated drainpipes. Bottom drainpipes appear separated and need re-gluing to prevent leaks.
  • Door safety issue. A door opened into a glass window without a door stop, which required dealer intervention to install a door stop.

There are three recalls affecting the 2025 FOREST RIVER CAMPSITE RESERVE. These recalls cover step assembly components, electrical wiring for the solar controller, and a separate issue affecting fifth wheel and travel trailer models under the same brand. The affected systems include structural components and electrical circuits.

Recalls
  • Step assembly. (NHTSA Recall 25V245000) The clip-on bracket mounting bolts on the removable step assembly may come loose on 4,179 vehicles. This can cause the steps to detach unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury. Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the bracket at no cost. Owner notifications were mailed April 28, 2025.
  • Solar controller wiring. (NHTSA Recall 25V287000) 1,167 travel trailers have solar controller wiring without over current circuit protection. This defect increases the risk of damaged wiring that can short circuit and potentially cause a fire. Dealers will rewire the solar power wire free of charge. Owner notifications were mailed May 15, 2025.

Owners dealing with repeated repairs, unresolved recall defects, or safety hazards may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting a legal professional familiar with consumer protection and lemon law claims may provide guidance on available remedies.
