CV axles failed at 30,000 miles, repaired under warranty. Replaced axles have failed again at 60,000 miles, no warranty. No hard driving, simply highway miles. This seems to be common in these vehicles and need to be recalled for defective parts. This has caused me poor fuel mileage, damage to new tires, instability while driving, and possible unknown damage to transaxle.

The 12-volt battery loses charge and issues a warning that remote features have been disabled. This issue has been going on since January 2025. To date, I have recharged the battery 15 times, plus taken it to 2-different Ford dealerships for warranty service. Both were unable to resolve the problem. Beginning with the 2025 model year, Ford commenced installing AGM 12-volt batteries which resolved the problem. The vehicle is still under warranty but the dealerships simply recharge the battery and return the vehicle. My vehicle is not part of the Ford recall for this problem. The root cause appears to be poor quality Chinese batteries used in the early model years.

At approximately 37,000 miles, the CV axles on my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid required replacement due to premature wear. Now, at around 62,200 miles, the vehicle is experiencing excessive vibration and shaking during acceleration, particularly noticeable at moderate to high speeds. This issue appears to be related to the powertrain or suspension system and may indicate a recurring or unresolved problem with the CV axles or associated components. The vibrations are severe enough to affect vehicle control, especially during lane changes or merging onto highways. When accelerating to merge into highway traffic, the vehicle shakes and vibrates so profusely that it feels like the car is going to shake apart. This makes it difficult to accelerate normally and safely, putting both the driver and surrounding vehicles at risk. The shaking could lead to loss of traction or steering instability, increasing the likelihood of an accident. This issue has been widely reported by other Ford Maverick owners and has been a frequently discussed problem in forums and owner communities for over a year. Despite its prevalence, there appears to be no long-term fix other than replacing the CV axle assembly with the same OEM part, which may be the root cause of the problem. That is why I feel it is important to bring this to your attention — it is a known issue with no real correction, and it continues to affect vehicle safety. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the onset of the problem. The component is available for inspection upon request.

2023 Maverik Hybrid at around 30,000 miles Vehicle would start shaking while accelerating. I took it to the dealership and they had to replace all the components in the front end of the truck. I know have about 60,000 miles on the vehicle and I'm having the same shaking problem while accelerating. It looks like this is a common occurrence with this vehicle. It is no longer under warranty and is going to cost a lot to get fixed. Not excited about having a major repair every 30,000 miles.

Cv axles went out at 55k causing shaking at highway speeds while accelerating. Frequently when starting the car the steering wont activate right away even after the car begins to move for 5-10 feet. Dealer cant replicate because it doesnt happen every time. But it is still doing it and may cause a crash in the future....

I purchased the 2023 ford maverick xlt with about 12,000 miles in may, right from the start I started having problems with the steering freezing up, almost hit a wall exiting the freeway, a few times it happened close to my house, it happens without warning, the warning "steering assist fault service required"comes up on dashboard , I have gone to the dealer a few times, the first time they said they had taken care of it, but I drove the truck after and later the steering froze up again, I took it in again and they said it was the steering column, it had a internal fault, so I left the vehicle there and next day they called me that the vehicle was ready, so I drove it home which is about eight miles from the dealer, no sooner had I was about to turn in the driveway that the steering froze on me, I borrowed my wife's car and went to the dealer told them what happened and the manager said to take it in again so they could check it , but I told the manager that I couldn't because iam afraid to drive the truck for my safety and other innocent people, so my truck sits in my driveway unable to drive it.

While driving on the highway at normal speed in normal conditions, I suddenly lost ABS, traction control, downhill assist, hold assist, AdvanceTrac, Cruise control, and a severe reduction of power. The engine went into limp mode and would not rev past 3k RPM. This made driving on the highway very dangerous as I could not keep up speed and risked getting rear-ended. The wrench icon came on, as well as ABS and traction control. Cruise control would not work. Messages appeared stating "Service engine soon", "Service AdvanceTrac", "Downhill assist issue", "Hold assist issue", and a few more I can't recall. Sometimes they go away on its own and the vehicle works fine, sometimes restarting the vehicle clears the issue. The issues will appear randomly, sometimes very soon after starting the car and driving, sometimes 100 miles later.

While traveling at speed there was a severe malfunction of the vehicle's stereo system. While driving the stereo was initially silent but later began to produce extremely loud noise/static. The volume of the noise was so extreme I had to take my hands off the steering wheel to cover my ears. The stereo did not respond to any power or volume input to stop the sound and I was forced to quickly pull over to the side of the road to turn off and exit the vehicle. The sound only stopped after exiting the vehicle and locking with the key fob. There were no warning signals prior to this failure. I have experienced this problem several times in the past while the vehicle was parked, when first starting the vehicle. This was the first instance of experiencing the problem while driving, within the first 1 minute after starting the vehicle. The stereo was initially on and set to a reasonable volume level, but was malfunctioning and completely silent. After driving for ~45 seconds the stereo began producing this extremely loud noise. I have found several reports of similar stereo issues with the Ford Maverick and also F150 trucks that are equipped with a similar B&O sound system.  This malfunction could potentially lead to an extremely dangerous situation, inability to safely operate the vehicle, and loss of situational awareness. I have dash cam footage of the incident, which I can provide upon request.

I bought a pre-owned "Gold Certified" 2023 Ford Maverick from a Ford dealer. The vehicle had around 32,000 or so miles at purchase. Soon after purchase, discovered that while accelerating from around 50-60 mph, the front end of the vehicle started heavily shaking without warning. The vehicle was taken to the Ford dealer who informed us that both front axles needed to be replaced. They informed us that they have seen this issue with other Ford Mavericks. The repairs were covered under warranty, and nobody was injured. This is an unsettling, since I have seen on this website numerous complaints about this same issue. Yet there has not been a TSB or recall to my knowledge.

When I shifted the transmission into Drive the vehicle would take off on its own. I drove the remaining 30 miles just letting the vehicle accelerate on its own because the pedal did not work. It wouldn't accelerate over 35 MPH. The vehicle would still pull when I applied the brakes. Once home, I turned the vehicle off for an hour. When I turned it on the warning lights no longer illuminated and the vehicle drove normal.

I was feeling a shaking throughout while driving. I took it into the dealership to have it looked at as it is a fairly new vehicle with less than 25k miles on it. They informed me that both of the CV Axles had gone out and were replaced. I was so shocked as those are supposed to last a fairly long time on a vehicle. I researched and it appears several Maverick owners have experienced the same thing, with some stating they be gone out twice before 34k miles and some as early as 10k miles. When I asked if it was a good thing I brought it in, the advisor told me absolutely it was as it is a huge safety issue if left unfixed. There were no warning lights for it nor any recall for it. I most certainly believe there needs to be something done about this.

I had the recall work done for the back up camera that freezes while I am reversing. After the recall has been completed, it still freezes/glitches while I'm backing up. Nothing changed after they performed the recall work. I do believe that the technician performed the work he was told to, but it hasn't accomplished anything. The rear view camera still takes a few seconds to engage once I put the car in reverse, and while I am in reverse, actively backing up the car, the camera feed freezes repeatedly on-screen.

The cv joint axles are failing. No axles on a new car or truck should EVER fail under 100k miles. Ford maverick axles are failing at under 50k miles. And mine failed at 22k miles. And Ford will only replace 1 at a time. Not only is this a manufacturer defect that can cause accidents or injury but Ford needs to yet again be held accountable. No one pays good money for a factory faulty vehicle.

Both the Blind Spot and Cross Traffic warning systems work erratically or not at all. Even after software update and reset. Cross traffic will sense a small car then ignore the bus next? Same with Blind Spot very inconsistent or not functional! Dealer is less than helpful. Any trip to the dealer means leaving your vehicle with them all day so they can put off working on it until the last minute.

First time i noticed an issue was [XXX] felt vibration and took to Freeport Ford, Freeport, IL 61030. They took for a test drive and noticed nothing. I returned to Freeport Ford on 01/30/25 for the same issue, violent shaking when accelerating worse on an incline..They told me it was tires and that the 2 fronts had to be replaced 4/32 tread at this point they placed the 2 good rear tires on the front which didn't change a thing, I ordered 2 new tires, and on 01/31/25 took to a Chevrolet dealer in Freeport (friend of mine), they diagnosed that i had 2 faulty CV axles, i let Freeport Ford know of this diagnosis. New tires were installed 02/04/25 on the rear, still didn't change a thing, i told them I had checked the Maverick Forums and found out several complaints about faulty CV axles prematurely failing, at this point they stated they have ordered me a new set of axles, and let me drive out of the dealership on those faulty axles..Now playing the waiting game to see if axles come in first or if a catastrophic axles failure occurs first. Definitely not happy with Ford at this point and believe this needs to be a recall at this time due to all the complaints. Two problems 1. Auto Start/Stop feature 2. Pre-Collision Assist (1) Auto Start/Stop feature- unpredictable.. 1. My engine turns off at busy intersection for red light with a vehicle coming in fast from behind, I hit gas to move forward . My truck revs hard from starting with foot on gas and darts forward. Almost went into cross traffic. 2. There is a current recall on Maverick batteries. Numerous complaints on the Facebook Ford Maverick of vehicle shutting off for auto-stop, but not starting in traffic conditions due to the battery. Fact - any electrical or computer problem and your vehicle is now stranded in an intersection. The Maverick has several electrical recalls. 3. I have timed my Vehicle Restart response on camera. It takes approx 1 more second for my vehicle engine to re-start and advance forward. For many accidents 1 second is the difference of life and death. 4. When I stop to put the vehicle in reverse, it will auto-stop while I am shifting. My vehicle is now sitting in the road, until I hit reverse and no brake, then "jumps" backwards in reverse. 5. The feature cannot be turned off permanently- it must be turned off manually for every trip. Summary - I have sent these concerns to Ford. They will not provide a way to turn off this feature. Only option is to pay a mechanic to disable it with an aftermarket product, which could of course, damage something else. (2) Front Collision Warning System - Has gone off three times for no valid reason. One time simply passing an oncoming vehicle 2 times passing police vehicles on the side of the road with flashing lights. I have lowered it's alert level to low and seems to help. But clearly, Emergency lights setting off a system that takes some control of stirring and braking is a concern.

23,450 miles today for an oil change. Both CV are bad. Drivers side is terrible with no parts eta. Passages is leaking grease and about to go as well per the tech. That is not the first I’ve heard of this but at 23,000 miles is insane. This could cause an accident if failing while turning.
