On Tuesday, [XXX], my wife and I were driving her, new to her, 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT, that we purchased from Stuckey Ford in Bellefonte, PA on [XXX]. She was behind the wheel. We were heading west on [XXX] and had just passed into Pennsylvania by crossing the Delaware River. The check engine light and battery lights went on suddenly & we immediately lost power. The power steering was no longer working, but the brakes were. As we were in the passing lane going 65 mph & there was an 18-wheeler in the right lane, we could not cross two lanes to reach the Matamoras exit ramp. She steered into the median between lanes to our left. The Maverick would not start. We were about 6" off the left hand white line of the west bound passing lane. I called 911 who sent a PA State Trooper to park behind us with his flashers on. We were towed off the [XXX] exit ramp to a garage. We tried to start the truck five times, it would not start. The sixth time it did start but when the tow truck operator tried it, the truck only started intermittently. We called the nearest Ford Dealer, Healy in Goshen, NY. We were towed to Healy the same afternoon. They said their diagnostics could find no problems. Their invoice is attached. Since the event on [XXX], the Maverick has not turned on when the key is turned & brake pedal depressed multiple times. When this happens the same two lights (check engine & battery) stay on. ID: 2083268BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING
On [XXX], I was involved in a backing accident that was significantly caused by the subject of this recall (Manufacturer Recall Number24S59, NHTSA Recall Number24V684). When I put my vehicle in reverse, the rear view camera came on. However, what I didn't realize was that the image displayed on it froze shortly after the camera turned on making it appear that it was clear behind me and safe to back. But another vehicle had pulled off of the street and stopped right behind me immediately after I put it in reverse and was looking at the frozen image that it was clear and safe to back. The car behind me was shorter than my vehicle and had pulled in behind me in the drive-thru line at somewhat of an angle, so only the front of their vehicle was directly behind me and the rest of out of view of my rear view mirror. I was trying to back, because the drive-thru was two lanes and the right lane I was in was backed up due to a delay and an employee was waving me to come to the left lane since it was open and available. Because the other customer had just pulled in behind my vehicle from the street while my rear view camera was displaying a frozen image of when it was clear behind my vehicle, when I backed slowly, my rear bumper cracked the other car's front bumper. Because of Ford's safety issue, I have incurred an expensive liability claim for damages to the other party's vehicle. Claim details: Claim #: [XXX] ($3,563.81 in repairs + $581.06 rental car = $4144.87 total) StateFarmClaims@statefarm.com Ph: [XXX] Fax: [XXX] A fix for the recall has since been issued and I need to get my truck in for recall repairs. However, I am filing this complaint to NHTSA to document the damage caused by this issue and will also be seeking recourse from Ford. I was driving normally at speed. The truck suddenly lost power. The gas pedal was unresponsive. It took a moment to realize what had happened since the truck showed no indication of an issue. No warnings showed on the dash, the radio was playing as normal. Pressing the gas pedal did nothing. Brakes worked. I was on a road where was I luckily was able to coast into a parking lot and stop safely. I shut off the vehicle and immediately turned it back on. Everything started normally and the vehicle drove normally from that point.

I am experiencing a serious safety issue with my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid, which involves powertrain malfunction and sudden loss of power while driving. The issue first appeared on [XXX], when I received a Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power warning in the FordPass app and noticed that the vehicle was losing power intermittently. Since then, I have taken my vehicle to the dealership three times for diagnostics and repairs, but the issue persists. Service history and failed repair attempts: [XXX] – I visited Folsom Lake Ford to address this issue, but the dealer claimed the vehicle was “operating normally.” [XXX] – I took my car to Future Ford of Sacramento, requesting diagnostics and repairs for the transmission. The dealership replaced the CV axles but did not acknowledge or resolve the powertrain issue. [XXX] – The same error occurred again, and I returned to Future Ford of Sacramento. The dealer once again failed to find or fix the problem. [XXX] – Hours after picking up the car, the Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power error reappeared in FordPass. Possible Link to Known Ford Maverick Issues: Ford has already issued recalls for similar problems affecting Ford Maverick (2022–2023) and Bronco Sport models related to 12V battery failures that cause power loss. However, my VIN is not included in any official recall, despite showing the same symptoms. This issue is extremely dangerous, as the vehicle unexpectedly loses power while driving, creating a serious risk of an accident, especially on highways. Suspected Fraud by the Dealer: Despite multiple service visits, the dealership has not provided a detailed diagnostic report. I suspect the dealer is simply resetting the error codes instead of fixing the problem. Investigate whether this is a widespread issue among 2023 Ford Maverick models. Determine if Ford should issue a recall for this powertrain problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This morning while driving to work, I lost acceleration power. I was driving to work at the speed limit of 65 mph. The car started to slow down and I could not get any acceleration when stepping on the gas pedal. I was very lucky that traffic was light and able to coast over to a shoulder of the highway. I called roadside assistance and had it towed to local dealer. Awaiting to hear what the problem is. Feel very uncomfortable at this point.

Cracked seam on the crossmember supporting the driver seat. While investigating a squeaking seat. I discovered a hairline crack in the metal that is under the cloth driver seat. Upon further investigation, I discovered that when pressure is applied to the seat, a bigger crack appears where a cross member is joined under the seat. This is causing the seat to flex more than usual putting more friction on the plastic mounts causing the squeaking sound.

Possibly software. Vehicle door latch will not release on any of 4 doors. Tried fob and manual key. I am locked out of vehicle. A serious safety issue would arise if I were locked in the vehicle, especially in an accident.

Car was shuddering and vibrating on acceleration brought to dealership and was told I needed front axles with 16k on odometer . It took over a month to get parts and the dealership was kind enough to give me a car while Parts came in. These new parts are Likely also faulty as the vibrations are starting again under acceleration .The car now has 29k I will be bringing the car in again soon for other recalls and repair but this shouldn’t be happening . Heaven knows what other damage is being done . We need a part redesign and a recall asap . Thanks

The 12 volt battery keeps going dead or puts the car in to sleep mode. Ive been to the dealers 7 times and they have replaced the battery twice . I only have 14000 miles on it. this has been going on for most of the time i have had it. there is no safety issue at this time, it just wont start.

The 12v battery keeps draining when the vehicle is not in use. It goes into “Deep Sleep” mode. Every time it goes into deep sleep mode I have to jump start it. I’ve taken it to the dealership and had the battery replaced just to have to go into deep sleep mode a three days later.j
