While driving around 50MPH my vehicle started to lose engine power going down to 40, then 30, then 20MPH. I had to pull into a break down lane and at the next exit I managed to make it to a Ford Dealership called Flood Ford in Narragansett, R. I. This may be related to NHTSA safety recall number: 24S24 from May 2024. This happened yesterday [XXX] around [XXX]. This is the 2nd time it has happened as it happened another time on [XXX] in North Carolina and it ended up at Huntersville Ford. The dealership in Rhode Island won’t be able to put a diagnostic tool on my truck until Monday August 25th so I’ll be without a car for 6 days. A real inconvenience INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

1)After sitting for 2 days the battery was drained or dead. The truck would not start. I jumped the truck and it started up. Every time I park the truck i get a warning that the battery is low and I should drive it to recharge the battery. I drive the truck but it will not recharge. 2) The check engine light comes on. I went to the auto parts and scanned for diagnostics. The scan came back as a fuel tank pressure sensor failure. 3) When I drive the truck it smells as if something is burning. 4) The fuel gage is not showing accurate reading. 5)The fuel door wont open unless I have the truck turned on and then it takes several minutes. 6) After driving on the freeway I came to a stop on the off rap before entering a main street and the truck died.

Harsh vibrations under acceleration. CV joint defective in design. Apparently this is endemic to Mavericks yet there has been no recall!

My vehicle failed to start due to a now corrected recall issue. When it did not start I attempted to jump start the engine and found that the car is missing its positive jump terminal on the engine so it is impossible to jump the car. It was sent to a dealership for repair but they never corrected the issue. It is still missing.

Transmission sensors/Software. My wife stopped at a intersection, light turned green and she went to proceed, the truck went in reverse instead of forward! She stopped it before it hit another car. This is the second time this truck has gone behaved in a dangerous way. Last time it lurched forward almost hitting a car, and then the car went into a safety mode (they 'fixed' that in a previous recall). It seems like another sensor/software malfunction

The battery (new) needs to be jumped several times a week. This happens when it goes into sleep mode. Also, the vehicle stalled twice while turning left (in electric mode). My dealership could not fix the problem, but gave me a print out in mechanic terms. I have had so many issues with this hybrid. Ford did say it qualified for the “lemon law”, but then they said no. I have only put on 5000 miles and there’s been several updates and recalls

On 5/20/2024 - At 39,254 miles, both my CV axles lost stability, and were replaced. Less than a year later on 3/3/2025 - At 59780 miles both the CV axles started wobbling and were replaced. In doing a little research online, found many Ford Maverick Hybrid vehicles were having the same issue from poor quality parts. I would request for the NHTSA to take this issue up with Ford and address it as a recall on the poor-quality parts or have an extended warranty provision from Ford on them, as the warranty on these axles expires at 60,000 miles.

The vehicle started to shake and in the span of 1 month started shaking violently. Only happens when accelerating. Upon googling it looks to be a axle, cv axle, or some axle joint issue.. called ford and they do not want to change it due to salvage.. consistent issue with tons of people having this problem. Would like them to acknowledge and change everyone who is having issue without being a problem..

Vehicle shakes and vibrates at speeds 55 to 65 or under rapid acceleration. Took it into Ford dealership and charged with a wheel alignment. Didn’t change the situation. Noticed on Facebook Maverick group about cv axles wearing. Told this was the issue. Ford does not have replacements and still waiting since October 2024 for repairs to be made. Still not repaired and not sure if what to do if I’m still driving the vehicle.

Brakes grab hard at 4 MPH. I've had to software updates from a Ford dealer. It helps for about 100 miles then comes back. Initially, the software was put in because the brakes were grabbing dangerously at a fast speed and I would often hear a loud bang. But the software got rid of that issue and now left me with the current brake issue at 4 MPH. It sometimes causes a "hard stop". I have recently brought it into two different Ford dealerships to be checked out. One said, "cannot duplicate the issue" and the other one said, "it seems find. It's typical for a Ford Maverick". I did my own research and there's plenty of others with the same issue. It can be dangerous in some situations.

The entire electrical system failed in my truck while DRIVING IN A SNOWSTORM. New engine light saying “the PCM detected the power relay de-energized earlier than expected”. The most alarming thing is that this truck runs like there is nothing wrong with it. No warnings or alerts. Then all of a sudden it dies. Total loss of power in the vehicle. I’ve tried to have the dealership replace these issues but they have either canceled on me or have told me that the “part isn’t in”. Meanwhile, my truck is not safe to drive. I’ve read numerous reports of this same thing happening to other owners of this truck, with most of the consensus saying that the OEM factory wiring harness for the battery is bad.

After performing a panic stop where the Pre-Collision activation message and chime activated, nothing happened until a few miles down the road. At that time, The "Service AdvanceTrac," "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" and "Hill Start Assist" warning messages scrolled on the cluster with a chime to go with them. Additionally, the amber tell tale warning lights for the ABS system, electric park brake system, stability control system and pre-collision assist were illuminated. The lights turned themselves off one by one approximately five 5-6 miles after that, then all came back on with the same three warning messages about 2-3 miles after they had gone off. All remained illuminated even at the start of the next key cycle but promptly went away before leaving the parking lot. It should be noted that while the warning lights were on, the vehicle did not have electronic power steering assist though no warnings or lights told of this failure. I could just tell from the increased effort in low speed, parking lot maneuvers.

Both times this occurred on a busy road and could have led to a potential collision with another vehicle.
