Recalls
  • Exhaust sensor failure. NHTSA recall 13V535000 affects 2,951 ambulances with 6.7L diesel engines. An exhaust gas temperature sensor defect may cause loss of power followed by engine stall, increasing crash risk and potential injury during patient transport. Ford replaces the sensor free of charge.
  • PTO pressure switch oil leak (PJ’s recall). Recall 14V498000 covers 3 vehicles modified by PJ’s with Muncie PTO assemblies. Oil leaking from the PTO pressure switch can soak a thermal blanket near the exhaust, raising fire risk. PJ’s installs a new pressure switch kit relocating the switch at no charge.
  • PTO pressure switch oil leak (J.C. Madigan recall). Recall 14V411000 involves 2 Ford chassis with 6.8L gasoline engines using certain PTO assembly pressure switches. Oil leaking onto the exhaust thermal blanket may cause fire hazards. J.C. Madigan replaces the pressure switch kit free of charge.
  • CNG fuel tank bracket failure. Recall 14V040000 includes 18 transit buses altered for compressed natural gas with brackets that may break, risking tank separation, crash, or fire. Almared has fixed all affected vehicles free of charge.
  • PTO pressure switch oil leak (All Wheel recall). Recall 15V052000 applies to 1 Ford F-550 with a 6.8L gasoline engine. The PTO switch may leak oil onto the exhaust thermal blanket, increasing fire risk. All Wheel installs a new pressure switch kit free of charge.
