POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019 F-250 and F-350, single rear wheel and dual rear wheel, 4X4 vehicles. The front axles may contain a wheel end yoke that was not properly welded to the axle tube end.

Risk: An improperly welded axle may affect vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:RECLINER

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2020 F-150 and 2019-2020 F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty pickup trucks, and 2018-2019 Ford Explorer, 2019-2020 Expedition, and 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with driver and/or passenger's manual front seat back recliner mechanisms. Also included are certain 2020 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with rear outboard seats and manual seat back recliner mechanisms. The recliner mechanisms may be missing the third pawl required for seat back strength, resulting in a loose seat back. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 202, "Head Restraints" and 207, "Seating Systems."

Risk: A seat back with an improperly assembled recliner mechanism may have reduced strength and may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:AXLE SHAFT

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019 F-250 and F-350 vehicles equipped with electronically locking rear differentials. The passenger side rear axle shaft may fail prematurely due to a material issue.

Risk: A broken passenger side rear axle could result in a loss of drive power and the inability to hold the vehicle still when in Park. If the parking brake is not applied, unintended vehicle movement can occur, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera failed to display a rearview image. The contact stated that the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V442000 (Back Over Prevention), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 40,000.

The contact related the issue to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, neither the VIN nor the model year vehicle was included in the recall. No warning lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool showed no open recall.

ENGINE

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal burning odor and white smoke coming from under the hood. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact diagnosed the vehicle with an upper oil pan leak. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with the same failure and remained at the dealer for further repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.

STEERING

I was driving at freeway speeds on the interstate when I hit a divot in the pavement. My truck started shaking violently and I could barely control the steering and/or hold onto the steering wheel. When I applied the brakes, the issue worsened. I was finally able to find a spot to pull off. The shaking stopped and I was able to re-enter the freeway. This issue has occurred on three separate occasions. The first incident occurred on or about March 31, 2025, as described above. The second and third incident occurred yesterday, May 11th, mirroring the conditions of March 31st.

FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The low fuel pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was started. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the vehicle had been to the dealer several times for the failure. In addition, the low-pressure fuel pump was replaced in 2024; however, the failure reoccurred. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer more than fourteen times regarding the failure. The contact stated that the failure occurred while the vehicle was driven above 50 MPH. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:FUEL FILTER

The fuel filter housing cracked and started pouring diesel out the top and back of the engine. No warning lights going to dealer for replacement. This can be very dangerous for vehicle occupants and another motorist.

Brake lights stay on won’t go off. Replaced brake module, fuse etc. Can put key in and turn to accessories and put gear selector in drive,neutral, reverse WITHOUT PUTTING FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL… CANNOT FIGURE THIS PROBLEM OUT…

The water leaked into the fuse box and short-circuited the fuse box. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was determined that the seal around the windshield needed to be resealed and the fuse box replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle abruptly came to a complete stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred 2 additional times. The dealer diagnosed that the clutch plate failed and gear 1 and gear 2 were heat-welded together. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated that the driver's side front door latch failed to lock and securely close the door. The contact stated that the failure only occurred during cold weather. The failure had occurred 4 times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that there was an undisclosed Customer Satisfaction Program for the door latch freezing and the door lock actuator failing to operate as designed; however, the contact was not provided the CSP number. The contact stated while routine maintenance was being completed on the vehicle by a certified mechanic, the contact was informed that there were metal shavings inside the fuel pump. The mechanic informed the contact that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. I was traveling at 60mph. no modifications to the truck, everything stock. a car pulled along side me pointing to the front of the truck yelling your on fire. immediately got off on an exit ramp, the truck engine died and i lost all power . i tried to put it in park nothing happened. the truck and trailer started to roll backwards off an embankment. i got the emergency brake on. my wife and i exited the truck the whole front end was on fire 50 ft + flames . we got the horses out and away .according to parkhills mo. fire dept truck burned to the ground in less than 15 minutes. they stated it was a fuel fed fire. all the fire crew and responding police officers stated it was a common occurrence for that model ford to catch fire . this truck had 19,967 miles no modifications. no warnings ,no fuel smells .nothing to indicate any problems. truck went from running perfect to burned up in less than 15 minutes. total loss of the truck along with all my personal belongings. we were lucky ourselves and our horses escaped.
