2010 FORD F-350 SD Complaints and Recall Information

The 2010 FORD F-350 SD has 0 complaints and 11 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to equipment modifications involving power take-off (PTO) assemblies. These concerns generally center on potential oil leaks and associated fire risks.

There are 11 recalls that affect various equipment and steering components. The recalls mostly involve oil leaks from PTO pressure switches onto thermal blankets near the exhaust, increasing the risk of fire. Other recalls address steering lockup risk due to defective stabilizer kits.

  • Oil leak from PTO switch. Several recalls covering modified vehicles report oil leaking from the PTO pressure switch onto a thermal blanket covering the exhaust system. The leak may soak the thermal blanket, posing a fire risk when exposed to exhaust heat.
  • Fire risk from oil leaks. The oil leak soaking the thermal blanket combined with exhaust heat significantly raises the chance of a vehicle fire in affected trucks.
  • Modified vehicle scope. Recalls apply only to 2010 F-350s modified by Tactical, Stahl, Palfleet, Utility Truck, Somerset Welding, and Iowa Mold Tooling with certain Muncie PTO assemblies or pressure switches installed.
  • Recalls cover affected dealerships. Owners of affected vehicles are to be notified by the modifying companies, who will provide a free replacement or repositioning of the PTO pressure switch and thermal insulation to reduce fire risk.
  • Steering lock risk. One recall involves 2005-2021 F-350 4X4 pickup trucks equipped with Icon Vehicle Dynamics 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits. The foam ring inside these kits may block piston ports, causing the steering to lock up.
  • Crash risk from steering lock. Steering lock can increase crash risk. The remedy involves installing a revised shock assembly with an improved foam ring and steel support disc free of charge.
  • Recall notifications and remedies. Owners can contact the modifying companies or Icon customer service to schedule repairs. Dealers perform the fixes at no cost to owners.
  • No Do Not Drive warnings. None of the recalls include Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisories.
