Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator, Mustang, F-150, and 2022 Expedition vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump may fail, which can result in an engine stall while driving.

Risk: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.

A software error may cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display when the vehicle is in reverse.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023-2024 F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles. Water may enter the Tailgate Park Assist Sensor Interface Module (TPASIM) and cause the rearview camera image to display intermittently or appear blue or black.

Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:AXLE SHAFT

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 Super Duty F250 and F350 vehicles equipped with single rear wheels and a 10.5-inch rear axle shaft. The left rear axle shaft may have been improperly heat-treated during manufacturing and may break.

Risk: A broken rear axle shaft can result in a loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is placed in park. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with third-row seating; and 2019-2023 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 SuperCab vehicles. The owner's manual does not include instructions for adjusting or removing certain head restraints. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 202, "Head Restraints."

Risk: Without instructions, the head restraints may be improperly adjusted, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

If the driver and front passenger door module experiences a low power condition and resets while the window is moving, the anti-pinch function may not detect an obstacle near the top edge and may not automatically reverse direction.

Risk: A window that does not automatically reverse when an obstruction is encountered increases the risk of injury.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 Escape, Super Duty F-250, Super Duty F-350, Super Duty F-450, and Super Duty F-550 vehicles equipped with a digital instrument panel cluster. The module may have been improperly soldered, preventing the instrument panel from illuminating. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Risk: An inoperable instrument panel cannot show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Bronco, 2023 Super Duty F-250, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles. The Tire and Loading Information (TREAD) label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Risk: An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash.

STEERING:COLUMN

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2023 Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles. The steering column upper shaft bolts may be missing or improperly tightened, resulting in possible separation of the steering column from the adjoining components.

Risk: A disconnected steering column can result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-250 SD. The contact stated that while attempting to roll up the front driver's side window, the window partially rolled up. The contact stated that the front passenger's side window had experienced the same failure. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the infotainment system had defaulted to a factory setting independently, causing the Forward Collision Avoidance system and several other safety features to be deactivated. The contact stated that the failures were intermittent. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however, the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the window failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V507000 (Structure); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

The contact stated that the instrument cluster failed to properly illuminate, and it was difficult to see the information on the instrument cluster. The contact also stated that the front passenger’s side window failed to roll up in one motion. The contact stated that the window would stop halfway up and had to be rolled back down first and then another attempt had to be made to roll the window up for the window to operate as needed. Additionally, the back over prevention and trailer park assists system functions failed to operate as needed. The contact also stated that the back over prevention software failure of the TPASIN module caused the screen to intermittently display a distorted image, a blue screen, or displayed a solid black screen. The contact also stated that the powertrain axle assembly shaft was improperly heat treated during the manufacturing process. Additionally, the vehicle experienced failures with steering column, and the tailgate release function occasionally failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions and remained with dealer often, for two to three weeks each time. POWER TRAIN

When shifting into drive from reverse it will shift very hard into drive. This happens about 4 times a month and it is very forceful. Suspension is very ruff. Very different from other Ford trucks I driven. Rear suspension makes a noise going over bumps and dips.

As I was driving, the truck stopped running and then under the engine compartment it started on fire and fully engulfed the engine compartment in front half of the truck

The contact stated that while the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle lunged forward and failed to stop intermittently. There were unknown warning lights illuminated, with a smell of smoke coming from the vehicle. On a separate occasion, the vehicle pointed to the left and accelerated independently. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, but a diagnostic test was pending; however, the contact was informed that the drive line and the engine were rusty. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure was not the same. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,500.

AIR BAGS

I have a safety concern on my 2023 Ford 250 SuperDuty Pickup. The front passenger seatbelt indicator does not engage when a person sits in the seat.   The other 4 seats (front driver & 3 back seats) in the vehicle engage as soon as a person sits in the seat showing the seat red in the on the dash until the seatbelt is engaged and then turns green with a check mark on it.   When a person sits in the front passenger seat the seat does not light up on the dashboard like there is no one sitting in the seat.  Once the seatbelt is clicked in, the seat then turns to green with a check mark and then if the seatbelt is unclicked the seat will turn red. I took the vehicle in to be looked at.  The Ford Dealership put in a new part and it reacted the same way.  They then said that they checked and the seat was working as designed and there was no issue.  I asked them to confirm that the airbags would still engage.  They would not confirm that.  I then called Ford's Hotline with my concerns, they said based on what they could see, the airbags would still engage. I feel that all the seats should react the same way and if a person is sitting in that front seat and doesn't use the seatbelt, the vehicle doesn't recognize that a person is in the seat.  And if so, possibly the airbags do not work.
