WHEELS

Recall # 23V896 was sent to me on January 2024 and 14 months later still no parts available for the repair. Risk are the vehicle may roll in park and lose power while driving. I have already had one of the bolts break and it was replaced with a new defective bolt because replacements ( non - defective ) bolts were not yet available. Why is this taking over a year to resolve?

After driving home from work on 12/20/24 the truck was parked at ~10pm. At ~1AM on 12/21/24, I was alerted that the truck was on fire. I found the vehicle fully engulfed in the hood and cab area. There was no prior indication of a problem or issue. The truck was fully destroyed and my home and Jeep were damaged. My home was damaged and only saved because I brought my garden hose out and sprayed the house until the local FD arrived. The local Fire Investigator and the Insurance Fire investigator could it definitively identify how/why the truck caught fire and burned up.

today is March 13, 2025. Ford Motor Co promised to make parts available to repair this truck's axle as part of Manufacturer Recall 23S65 (NHTSA Recall Number23V896) by this month, March 2025. With 17 days left in the month, I have received no information regarding any possible future repair. Please push Ford to make good on their promise.

The manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety recall for my F-150 vehicle in a timely manner. Ford initially identified the axle bolt fault as Customer Satisfaction Program 22B34 on Feb. 14, 2023 to a limited range of vehicles but then expanded the action as a recall notification 23S65 on Dec. 22, 2023 covering all 2021-2023 trucks with their "Trailer Tow Max Duty package". Based on these dates, Ford has had over 2 years to engineer a solution to this safety recall but has not done so.

As of to date there is still an open recall on my truck and Ford has stated the recall is incomplete due to no remedy yet available. This recall has been in place since 12/22/23. 1. Transmission. Auxiliary transmission fluid pump. 2. Yes. 3. No. 4. No. 5. No. Stopped at a traffic light, first inline near crosswalk. For no apparent reason, the vehicle jumped forward without any input from myself. Thought I was rear ended by someone behind me. Luckily, I always have my left foot on the brake pedal when stopped and was able to apply additional pressure to keep the vehicle from moving forward. This is a new to me, used vehicle. After doing research I see that this is an ongoing problem for the 2021 to present Ford F 150 PowerBoost, hybrid, trucks. Hopefully a safety recall will be issued.

The navigation, information, and control screen in this vehicle randomly shuts down and reboots. often when using the reverse and 360 camera system. Ford has said they will not work on these systems as they are faulty, and has promised a software revision for over 6 months. The dealers report that they are not allowed to work on this until the new software comes from Ford. At least one time the instrument cluster also went blank during driving. this is a safety concern that the ntsb should be aware of, in addition to the faulty/dangerous bluecruise and advance self driving features that put folks in peril.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal sound coming from the rear end of the vehicle. The contact stated that upon inspection, the contact became aware of fluid leaking from a crack in the exhaust system caused by rust. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the exhaust leak was a result of corrosion and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

There is a problem with the heating controls. The temperature will be set at 72 and is stable for awhile, even days, then will spontaneously heat until it's unbearably hot. This is a huge distraction while driving to having to keep messing with the controls. Safety issue! After numerous complaints to Ford's service department with no results as the technicians cannot duplicate issue and there are no codes. Purchased a thermal imaging camera: 97.8 dash vents, 55.1 at knees and 80 degrees at feet (driver's side). This is not a situation where the heating system is just trying to bring the cab up to temperature as this occurs when the truck has already been on the road for over an hour at a comfortable temperature and then it just erratically starts spewing out unbearable temperatures. I have thermal imaging pictures as high as 153 degrees Fahrenheit while the set temperature is 70. Something definitely wrong. I am submitting this complaint as I am tired of turning the truck in for repairs. Maybe if enough people say something, Ford will do something.

Driving down the highway and all of a sudden the speakers made a sound like a gun going of then they all started popping at a deafening level. Was unable to focus or hear anything and almost was hit by another car before I could get safely pulled over, sat for nearly 2 hours turning on ignition periodically to see if it would stop finally it did. Looked online and there are numerous posts about this issue. This vehicle is not safe to drive as problem happens without any notice.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear axle bolt was faulty, and the rear axles needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. While driving this past weekend 24-26 January 2025, my vehicle's tailgate dropped on its own while driving. The first two instances I discovered the tailgate down when I arrived at my destination. While I only had a few light items in my truck bed, this could have been catastrophic as I was traveling at highway speeds and do typically carry heavier loads. On the third instance, I was sitting in my idling vehicle and felt and observed when the tailgate opened on its own. I have an appointment scheduled with my local Ford dealership for Friday 31 January 2025. The dealership advised me that because I am at 40000 miles and outside the 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty that I will likely have to pay out of pocket. I also called Ford Customer Service today to make them aware of this issue. They indicated they were aware of a similar issue affecting vehicles from my model year, but that that coverage only applied for vehicles built through April 2022, whereas mine was built in November 2022. They provided me with a case number (CXH-03471789) and stated they would assist with the repair and based on other reports may take further action.

The vehicle was then taken to the dealer for tire replacement and the contact was informed that the axle bolts on the driver’s and passenger’s side of the vehicle had fractured. The contact was informed that the axle bolts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. on January 20, 2024 I serviced my F-150 due to a malfunction. The DTC code came back as P0A1E-00. This is for the Starter/Generator Control Module. The belt and starter were reaplaced. The code appeared again on 12/21/24 2 times, 12/25/24, 12/26/24 2 times. I brought this back to the dealer on 12/19/2024. 12/26/2024, 12/27/2024. Somehow there was a TSB which I cannot acces that information, but this mentioned to test the battery. My battery failed. I paid for the diagnostics and battery. Then 3 hours later on 12/26 my Tuck went into a powersave mode. This time I brought it back on 12/27/2024, and got a call form the dealer on 12/31 that the replacement battery was defective. This was replaced. I am trying to find out why my battery died after only 2 years. Also since my DTC is related to the charging system, this could ptentially damage my battery. And they also replaced it with a defective battery. Ironically, there is a current recall of over 20,000 batteries being defective from Ford. I mentioned all of this to dealer and Ford directly, and no one can give me a straight answer of what it says to fix my issue.
