The vehicle has not been inspected by anybody so the problem is not been reproduced. It just happened this morning. There have not been any check engine lights or anything related pop up on the dash. I was leaving my house I just reached highway speeds 50 to 60 miles per hour I was in 5th or 6th Gear. The transmission suddenly downshifted on its own to first gear it downshifted so hard and so fast that it barked the tires really hard the RPMs went up to 5 to 6,000 I thought that it had somehow been hit into reverse or park or something I am the only one in the vehicle. I shift the vehicle into neutral and then I went back down to manual and cycled up and down a gear and then put it back in Drive.

My wife was driving the vehicle. While attempting to stop, the brakes failed. The brake warning light came on and alarmed. She was not able to stop safely without using the parking brake. Brake fluid was gone and completely drained into the brake booster. My family was completely at risk. Thankfully there were no injuries or damage. The vehicle was towed to a Ford dealership. The dealership diagnosed it as brake fluid pumping from brake cylinder into brake booster.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition EL. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V236000 (Service Brake Hydraulic); however, the part required for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, an alarm sounded in the cabin, and the “Brake Failure” warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal, and the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The vehicle coasted to a parking lot where the vehicle came to a stop. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed there was no brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir. A person nearby assisted with adding brake fluid to the reservoir. The vehicle was driven to an Auto Repair Shop and coast to a stop. The certified mechanic noticed that the brake fluid reservoir was empty again. The contact stated that the brake reservoir was empty within 2 to 4 minutes. The mechanic confirmed that the brake master cylinder was leaking brake fluid into the brake booster. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, whose diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed that the failure was linked to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The manufacturer opened a case; however, the case was closed due to no updates on the availability of the parts. The manufacturer informed the contact that the part could be replaced; however, the parts would be the same parts on the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 227,000.

Dealer diagnosed 6r80 transmission with molded lead frame assembly failure. This has been subject of a recall or customer satisfaction program for earlier year models but not beyond 2013.

The rear-view camera on my 2017 Ford Expedition is malfunctioning. When I shift into reverse, the rear-view image appears, but once I finish reversing and shift into Drive, the image does not go away. The reverse camera feed remains frozen on the screen, even while driving forward. To clear it, I have to manually put the vehicle into Park and then back into Drive. This has to be done nearly every time I reverse, which is a distraction and a potential safety risk while operating the vehicle. I’ve read that Ford recently issued a recall involving over 200,000 vehicles for a similar issue caused by a fault in the SYNC infotainment system. My vehicle has experienced this exact problem for years, but my VIN does not appear to be part of that recall. The issue occurs almost every time I use reverse - causing the camera to stay on the screen of the Rear-view camera system / SYNC infotainment system Please investigate whether this issue is broader than currently recalled. This malfunction compromises safe operation of the vehicle and should be addressed by Ford.

We have four small children and this is a huge issue and has been happening since we purchased the vehicle.

For 1.5+ years, the transmission will unexpectedly and suddenly downshift into 1st gear without warning. Which causes a sudden deceleration. No warning lights before it happens. It occurs randomly and at different speeds. It has happened over 20 times. I've experienced it happening at speed ranging from 35mph to 65mph. The gear shifter was in the drive position each time this issue occurred. The suv is the 2017 ford expedition EL with the 3.5L ecoboost engine with 6 speed automatic transmission. No check engine light before or after the issue (so no OBD2 code to read) a big yellow warning appears during/after saying "see manual". Sometimes the issue will resolve in a few seconds. The suv has not been to the dealership yet for this issue. But i will be contacting ford today.

Took vehicle in for recall work of replacing the HVAC Front Blower Motor Assembly. Vehicle was returned and blower motor stopped working 3 days later. Now being told that the fan blower motor controller and connector have to be replaced becasue they have gone bad and that it is not covered under the current recall. There should be no reason that those parts aren't covered under the recall. if the blower motor hadn't overheated, then the controller and conector should not have been damaged. A quick google search over complaints for this same issue lets me know that other people have had the exact same issue. Ford said to file the complaint with you.

2024 Front A/C blower cutting in and out without warning. Called Dealership and had Fords recall #22S56, item affected: electrical system, wiring, interior/ under dash. This involved the front A/C blower failing. Only thing replaced during Mobile visit then was the blower motor. Now March 2025 had the same issue again with front A/C blower cutting off/on without warning. Called same Dealership again and was told I had to bring the vehicle in to have diagnostic check to further check the Recall issue. After diagnostic completed, was informed that the blower motor resistor and the connector were melted. Had the repairs completed same day at $802.74.

Driving vehicle on road and car lost all acceleration power. The check engine light appeared and the problem was diagnosed as a faulty throttle body. This exact same issue has been identified as a recall item with an extended warranty (ten years or 150,000 miles) on other Ford vehicles but for some unknown reason the 2017 expedition is not covered. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE... I did speak to Ford and they offered no assistance.

My engine in my expedition overheated on dec 14,2024. It is being repaired now. I was left Stranded on a busy highway for 2hrs waiting on a wrecker. The whole engine is bad. Everything is full of oil. Itis being replaced right now at a total of 11,000$,by an independent ford mechanic . I know of three other people with this engine in my area that the same thing has happened to. There were no lights or warning signs ofany trouble. I have a receipt for the engine but the replacement cost wont be ready until next week. Ive contacted Ford and had a feedback case sent to them and plan to write a letter to Ford consumers affairs .
