Sunshade on sun roof is sagging and now blocking visibility through rear window. This is a safety hazard and concerning.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Have reported this incident before but we now know what caused the issue. Sunroof on the vehicle malfunctioned causing horrendous loud noise along with inability to retract or open the cover. A large heavy peice was then found sliding around between the cover and the sunroof itself. The peice was in fact the sunrood shade molding design between the front and back sunroof at the top of the car. The peice is quiet weighty so had the cover not been closed could have easily fallen on passengers. From service department that had to basically rebuild my whole sunroof, that peice is only held up by two adhesives, no screws or bolts. Here in the south it gets hot so anything with adhesives will melt and its surprising that there havent been more incidences. Quick Google search will show this is alot more common that I even realized. Sunroof has been fixed but at the cost $3600 and now have a complete bear spot where that molding should be. I will not replace it as I cannot risk it falling again and this time falling on someone in my back seats. I have included the diagrams from the manufacturer and can see how its only held by 2 square adhesives. Image of the car isnt my ford escape (mines having more seevice done) but can see how it sits right over back seat passengers and again this one is also missing the shade molding due to failed adhesives.

There are many thousands of Ford Escape owners with this same issue. The shifter knob will not shift out of park in hot weather, sometimes taking 20 to 30 minutes for the vehicle's interior to cool sufficiently to shift into drive. Ford is ignoring this problem. I don't understand why they are looking the other way and not fixing this well-known issue.

My Ford currently has 80K miles on it with no accidents and all recalls fixed by the dealer. This morning when I was driving my kids to school, a light I've never seen appeared on the bottom right hand side of the drivers screen. The light was a red triangle with an exclamation point inside of it. Not long after I noticed the light, we started to smell something burning and our car began loosing power. I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. I googled the meaning of the light. Apparently, it was a "Stop Safely Now" light. The various reasons online could not pinpoint any reason I could come up with. I popped the hood, checked the oil, coolant, and I checked that the hybrid battery located in the trunk had a good connection. Everything was fine, as far as I could tell. When I restarted the car, after about 15 mins of investigations and online research, the light was gone and so was the smell. However, now I am super nervous to drive this car on the highway. What if that light comes on again and I loose power when all the cars around me are driving 70 mph? The chances of getting rear ended and seriously hurt are a very real possibility. What if my kids are in the car? I'm scared.

SHORTLY after my warrenty expired, and would not fix it with out cost.. even though i could show... by the alerts in my app that this had been an issue long before the warrenty expired. the car was a demo sold as new and i had my first notification within the first few months of having it. 2) Door Recall- i was told would take months to fix due to not having parts. my window currently does not work due to issues that caused the recall. 3) car stalls after fueling most of the time. 4) RPMS jump high randomly 5) plastic sunroof piece fell off.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Around the 38,000 mile mark on our 2020 Ford Escape we received many different errors (AWD Fault, ABS, AdvanceTrac Service, Hill assist, etc). I found out via NHTSA and other forums that this is a common issue in the vehicle from the AWD module, and although it is AWD related, it is not eligible for the Powertrain warranty per Ford because it is an electrical component. I declined the $1200 repair at the dealership so I could first call Ford Customer Service, at the recommendation of the dealership, though the Service Tech did mention it is a safety concern because the ABS is apparently also controlled by the AWD. After a couple different calls to Ford, they have refused to acknowledge that it is a manufacturer defect, or pay for the repair. With no help from Ford, I have no other option than to file a complaint here. Based on other resources online, the issue seems to stem from improper grounding of the wiring on the AWD module.

2020 Ford Escape SEL was taken into Ford Service Center for oil change and to address acceleration issue that started two days prior, (check engine light had come on the day before drop off). One week after dropping my vehicle off to be assessed, I was told I needed a small part and it would be complete in 3 days. Another week went by, so I reached out and was told that I need a new engine because of a known Ford issue. Unknown to me, coolant was leaking into the engine and destroyed it. I was assured by the Ford technician that this was a known issue and the problem did not arise from something I did/did not do. I was quoted over $9k and weeks worth of work. I easily drove the vehicle to the Service Center, but was told it is now no longer drivable. I drive a LOT for work and had only had the vehicle for 15 months, still owing over $16k on my auto loan. I had no choice but to purchase a new (NOT FORD) vehicle and am now stuck with two vehicle payments. Vehicle is still sitting at the Ford Service Center while I pay on it monthly.

It seems to be a typical pattern for Ford to avoid warranty procedures by denying TSBs. I have records of the calls. I cannnot upload it from this page

All kinds of warning lights come in and stay on, which a lot of people are having the same issue which is due to a faulty sensor module.. I almost hit a truck who pulled out of a parking lot once I was on top of him ( was trucks fault) and no warning lights were functioning properly. There's also a recall for a fuel injector issue that ford is taking their sweet time to remedy, but technically I'm driving a time bomb that st any moment this fuel injection issue could crack and leak and cause a fire. And I'm not about to lose my life because of it. I've contacted ford for a lemon law buyback and they are taking their sweet time in that. No warning lights are functioning properly causing a danger for me to drive it. But I have to have a reliable care to get to dr appts and to shop for groceries. Something has got to be done about this. And further more when I purchased this car used I questioned the salesperson at the used car lot about this recall paper that was in the glove compartment about the recall on the fuel injection. He told me it was nothing. Bull!!! Why have that paper in the car if there wasn't a recall for the fuel injection when I bought it back in July 2023. No dealership should have the right to sell any car with a recall already in place. I want to sue the used car dealership for selling me this lemon. The car dealership was key auto of Somersworth nh but now they have a new place in Rochester nh...they should be held accountable for selling me the vehicle with a recall already in place. Ford said recall didn't go into effect till 2025, but why have a document in the car about it when I purchased car in 2023. Makes no sense.

Called Ford dealership in Springfield and they could not fit us in their schedule, so we took it to a Goodyear certified service center and they said it was the wiper motor. we fixed and eventually drove back to Michigan. About1 week later, the windshield wipers again, stopped working, I called the shop in Springfield and they told me to take it to a shop in Westland Michigan (Redford Auto/Goodyear Certified) because the part was under warranty. I did that, they replaced the part (motor). Now a year later and my wipers are not working again. They stop midstream and get stuck. They are inoperable again. Never in my lifetime of driving (I am [XXX] ) have I ever repaired a wiper motor, let alone 2 x and the problem is still not fixed. I do believe this is faulty by manufacturer and needs to be looked into. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The sunroof trim fell down while I was driving. This caused the sunshade to retract completely. It is available for inspection upon request. The safety concern is that this was startling to the driver and caused me to swerve. Luckily there were not any other cars around. If I had a passenger in the back seat, they could have been harmed. The problem was reported to the dealer where I bought the car and also to another dealer where I had some recall work done. I also did a live chat with someone from Ford within in the Ford app. I was told this is not covered under warranty and if I needed to have it looked at, I would have to the diagnosis fee. Component: Powertrain / Transmission Vehicle: 2020 Ford Escape Mileage at failure: 53,500 Transmission began violently jerking, hesitating, and mis-shifting around 53,000 miles. Brought to Ford of Sunnyvale on May 2, 2025 where the dealership diagnosed complete transmission failure. Instead of replacing, they installed a software update that masked the problem for a few weeks before it returned worse. Vehicle is now unsafe to drive — surging, delayed shifting, unpredictable acceleration — especially dangerous for highway merging or family use. This is a known issue with Ford’s 8F35 transmission. Ford TSB 22-2281 documents widespread failures and need for planetary gear replacement. What’s more concerning is that this failure occurred within what should have been the 5-year/60k powertrain warranty. Ford denied full coverage based on a hidden warranty start date from demo use. I was never informed at lease that the warranty had started 6 months earlier. My wife drives our two small children in this car, and it is now unsafe and undrivable. Ford should be held accountable not only for the mechanical failure, but for masking the problem and compromising customer safety.

I started experiencing transmission issues with my vehicle around 80,000 miles. When I initially brought it to a Ford dealership for inspection, I was told there was nothing wrong—despite also reporting other concerns with the vehicle. The jerking and shifting issues continued over the following months and became more frequent. Once the vehicle reached just over 100,000 miles, I returned to the dealership and was then informed that the transmission had failed. This was frustrating, as I had been reporting symptoms for a long time with no resolution. To this day, no warning lights or dashboard messages have appeared to indicate any transmission issues. No warning lights, messages, or diagnostic codes appeared before or during the progression of this issue. The only symptom has been the physical jerking and irregular shifting, which first appeared around 80,000 miles. I have a case number with Ford.

ENGINE

I am the owner of a 2020 Ford escape. My vehicle falls under the recall dealing with defective fuel injectors. The dealership preformed the suggested service or installing the drain tube and updating the software. I’ve been noticing that my vehicle has a slight hesitation while accelerating in speed and I would periodically smell the strong scent of gasoline, but no check engine or warning lights ever come on. Here recently while driving, my car started slowing down unexpectedly by itself and started idling extremely rough, almost like a tractor and the check engine light came on. I pulled over in the nearest parking lot, turned the car off and looked under the hood but didn’t see anything out of the norm except a small wet spot on the engine cover and there was the slight smell of gasoline. I didn’t think anything of it because I had recently had my oil changed and thought it was probably just a slight spill from there they and refilled the engine oil. I was able to restart my car and everything seemed to have went back to normal. I was able to drive my car to the nearest auto part store where they were able to run a diagnostic scan to see why my check engine light was on. The scan pulled two error codes: the first one being P0302 which is a cylinder 2 misfire, and the second one being P3402 which is a Cylinder 1 Deactivation/Intake Valve Control Circuit Performance. I called ford to see what could be done and they informed me that there was currently no fix for my vehicle. And when asked what i should do the person on the phone told me to “drive the car until it was inoperable”. Which is absolutely crazy to me!

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

My vehicle had been driving great up till about three or four months ago. It started losing speed, stalling and would not accelerate unless i pressed the pedal to the floor which I had to do in order to avoid an accident. All while this was happening the service light with the 🔧 would comes on, but once I cut the car off and started it up again the next day or after running multiple errands the service light would be gone and my car would drive normal so I thought it was just a fluke and I didn’t worry about it again. Until now!!! Just today my car would not start and at the same time I would also get a warning saying, start the car or cut the engine off as I was trying to start the car so that was crazy. And in order to get it started I had to get the battery jumped, after that it would start right up. But later if I tried starting the car up again it would barley start up without multiple attempts of me pressing the push start, and pressing down hard on the brake pedal and to top it all off my car is losing speed and stalling again.. So because of this I had the battery, terminals, starter, and alternator tested and they said everything is fine so none of that is causing my car not to start up. While trying to find a solution and get a estimate on repairs, I found out my car model has three recalls on it but from what I can see non of these recalls should cause any of these issues. Still I made a appointment to drop it off tomorrow so they can fix the recalls and hopefully figure out what the problem is and fix these other issues. Any who, I thought I should share this just in case others are having these problems and maybe Ford will correct these hazards. Thank you.

Underneath the transmission is a part that once damaged could emit steel into the transmission which causes damage to the transmission. Small pieces of steel. My technician said it happens to all the Ford vehicles mainly the Ford Escape and Ford has not provided a recall for this and it cost $3,500.00 to be replaced. I am disgusted that this damaged part that puts pieces of steel into the transmission could not be noted by Ford as a legitimate recall. Please see what you can do. It's been reported constantly. Subject: Safety Complaint – TPMS & Trunk System Failure on 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid I’m reporting two ongoing issues with my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid that I believe are connected to a recall I’ve seen issued for other vehicles of the same make and model year. 1. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): My dashboard only displays pressure readings for two of the four tires. The other two do not register at all, which makes it difficult to monitor tire safety. 2. Trunk Release Button Failure: The button to electronically open my trunk no longer works. I have to manually open the liftgate each time, which is not how the vehicle was designed to function. The last time I took my vehicle in for a recall-related service, I was told I would need to return to complete additional recall work. I never received follow-up communication, and my VIN currently does not show any active recalls, despite these ongoing issues and my earlier service visit. I have since discovered that other 2020 Ford Escape models have been recalled for failures related to the Body Control Module or related systems—which seem directly tied to my problems. I’m requesting a review of my case, as these failures could compromise vehicle safety. I’d also appreciate consideration for repair assistance or further investigation into whether my VIN should be included in the relevant recalls. Thank you for your time and attention.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

I am the owner of a 2020 Ford Escape experiencing two serious issues: 1.My vehicle is exhibiting the exact symptoms outlined in Ford CSP 23B56—specifically, the failure of the driver-side door check-arm welds. The door produces loud popping noises, feels unstable when opening/closing, and has visible signs of structural stress. Despite this, my VIN has been deemed ineligible for the program. Given that the issue matches the failure described in CSP 23B56, I am requesting a re-evaluation of my VIN’s coverage and a formal inspection under this program. 2.My vehicle is also subject to NHTSA Recall 25V467 / Ford Recall 25S76, concerning the potential for a cracked fuel injector leading to fuel accumulation on top of the engine—a serious fire hazard. According to NHTSA, there is currently no remedy available. This adds another layer of safety concern, particularly considering the compounding risks and Ford’s delay in delivering a fix. Between the structural door failure and a pending recall involving potential engine fires, I am deeply concerned about the safety and reliability of my vehicle. I am asking that my concerns be formally investigated and that Ford take appropriate responsibility for repairs, reimbursement (if applicable), or an expanded VIN inclusion under the CSP.

When I push the driver window down and when I want to roll it up. The driver window don't go up i have to play with button by pushing it up and down for about 5 to 10 minutes. I have to keep pushing the button up-and-down or turn my car off, open my door it takes a minute for it to go back up. The passenger window goes up and on its on like for example i want to let the window up it comes down by itself. Ford has fixed the driver door panel for the window, but it's doing the same thing. My tire system, it doesn't give me the tire pressure. And when I put gas in my suv, my engine is revving up-and-down, and it cuts off. And when I'm driving, he doesn't want to go I have to push on the gas to make it go. But as far as the window, I have issues with that every single day ever since Ford fixed my suv. And the gas, every time I put gas in My suv make like it wanna shut off, and it do shut off. Sometimes when I put my foot on the gas after pumping gas. This is a ongoing procedure for me. This happens every single day, and every time that I put gas in my suv. This has been going on for about six months or more.

The "check engine" light came on so took in to be checked. Independent mechanic indicates that there is coolant leaking into one of the cylinders as the result of a casting defect and repair requires complete engine replacement. He tells me this is a common problem. I spoke with a local Ford dealership's service person who tells me this is a known defect in other Ford models as well and, in those models, Ford has extended the warranty to cover this repair. Ford is not covering it for this model, however. Since it is the same problem -- a manufacturing defect, Ford should cover/replace since continuing to drive it will result in a complete engine falure

This problem is well documented and many other owners have had the same issue with the Ford Escape for many model years including 2020. When the car is left in the heat which is unavoidable these days and the gear shift knob is in the direct sunlight from the windshield it becomes locked. The knob will not turn out of the park position. So, you are stuck and must wait for it to cool. This last time it was several hours risking life being unable to leave the heat and possibly dangerous location. Once the car/shift knob cool normal operations resume. Obviously a engineering design flaw that the car “can’t stand the heat.” Please issue a recall and have Ford address the issue.

SERVICE BRAKES

For 6 months, after a routine visit and safety recall preformed by ford, I have had an issue with the park brake engaging on its own. When pressing the button to disengage it, the car would not disengage and would remain locked. The only way to disengage it would be to throw the car into reverse, press the button to disengage the park brake and step on the gas pedal as fast as you could. After 6 months of trying to diagnose the issue, ford pittsville came up inconclusive, replacing multiple parts of the e-brake such as the buttons themselves, the wires connecting the brakes, and checking over the brakes. The issue itself was unrecreatable but the only common denominator was remote starting the car via the app. The most recent investigation this past month conducted by ford revealed that the pin for my brake and e brake was loose after they (ford) had replaced it. They fixed the connection and delivered my car to me. I hadnt even driven the car yet, only remote started it due to the heat. When the car was started, it immediately popped up with a new issue. The powertrain had failed, with codes popping up via fords system indicating the: park brake, brake system, gear shift, and 5 other codes that i cannot recall at the moment showing on their system. Ford diagnosed the problem, finding the gear shift itself was not engaging due to a loose pin (code: P0929:77). I was told that the car was safe to drive but there has been zero communication on when the part would be ordered or taken care of. I have tried to follow up multiple times with the dealership in the past two weeks and update them about the cars current state, including now with the error still showing, my steering feels loose and my car feels as if it is drifting while i drive.

The guard plate between the sunroof and the moonroof fell off as it is held in place by double-sided tape tabs, landing on top of the shade which likely caused the issue. Ford will not repair it under my extended warranty even though the vista roof itself is covered they are classifying the sunshade as a trim piece. They are instead, offering to cover 1/2 of the $1800+ dollar repair. There was no warning prior to this happening and had someone been in the rear seat the large panel would have fallen on them potentially injuring them.

While driving my 2020 Ford Escape, the internal guard plate located between the panoramic sunroof and the moonroof suddenly detached. It fell onto the retractable sunroof shade, jamming it and making it completely inoperable. As a result, the sunroof shade can no longer open or close, and the roof does not fully seal shut. This creates a serious safety concern — the falling piece could have injured a passenger if seated underneath, and the inability to close the roof allows in weather, debris, and noise, which can impair driver concentration and visibility. We took the car to a Ford dealership, and they quoted us over $2,000 to fix and replace the affected parts. This is outrageous, especially considering the failure appears to be a design or manufacturing defect — not the result of any misuse. Additionally, there are countless online forums full of Ford Escape owners reporting the exact same issue, especially with 2020 and newer models. This suggests a widespread problem that is affecting many of us, not an isolated case. Ford should be held accountable, and this issue deserves immediate investigation for a possible safety recall.

Promptly shut it didn't think much about it as we were out of state. Over next week or so started to hear a rattling from right hind area, then sounded like something was sliding. On the way to work actually heard something above me from under the shade, felt up and felt a large peice of glass or heavy metal part. Immediately brought to the dealership. On investigation a few pieces had broken causing a panel to come loose, it's still currently at the dealer being fixed but if I hadn't had the sun shade that peice would have hurt. 2020 ford escape in 2023 transmission started slipping amd stuttering around 60,000 miles on it. Ford service said nothing wrong. Problem persisted and now at 103,000 miles they admit need a whole new transmission. Service bulletin released in 2022 did not fix the issue and now that warranty is out they want the customer to replace it. The car is unsafe as you can't count on acceleration as the transmission slips going up inclines and oftent times when accelerating to pass or turn into traffic. Additionally a new class action lawsuit seems to state all of the same issues I have had and am having. Ford knows about the issue and refuses to recall the transmission or help monetarily with the repairs.

the front camera/ adaptive cruise control, pre collision assist, seems to have spontanteoulsy cut out while driving- a large bump in the road seems to have shook less the coaxial cable connections for the front camera in this car. This caused a fast and immediate deceleration that almost got me rear ended by the truck that was behind me. the car is at the dealership for a faulty cable/ IPMA module. this seems to be a very common issue for these cars. there were no messages PRIOR to the failure but the messages i am getting now are the front camera fault, and pre collision assist is no longer working. Adaptive cruise and even regular cruise control are no longer working either. additionally, i am getting a system off to save battery message, even though i just installed a new battery. This faulty camera/ connection to the camera seems to be creating a parasitic draw. This car is not even 5 years old and only has 40,000 miles. While driving my 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid, I heard a rattling noise. I was having a hard time figuring out where it was coming from. Then I heard it again and noticed it was coming from above the sunshade for the sunroof. My sunshade is always closed. When I went to open the sunshade, the sunshade hit the spacer that had fallen off and the sunshade popped off the clips and recoiled into the back roller. The spacer is only held on by 4 pieces of double-sided sticky tape. This is a manufacture defect. This has been a known issue to Ford dealerships. They want $2,700. to fix my car for a sunshade that got knocked off by a spacer that was installed with 4 pieces of double-sided sticky tape. Ford should take responsibility for this and do recalls to fix or repair this problem. Most people will never know about this problem until after it happens and Ford already knows its a problem. Someone should hold them accountable for all the customers that are paying over a $1000. because a 0.15 part failure.

From the day I purchased the car, it has not been able to connect to the Commonwealth of MA's inspection computer system. Ford and the inspection garages i've taken this to said it was a known problem and waived the inspection until Ford remedied their software to make it work. Ford now has a fix, applied via a software update, that remedies the problem but says my car is not part of the list of covered vehicles even though they acknowledge it suffers from the same problem. Ford sent a letter out on Dec 12, 2023 entitled "Customer Satisfaction Program 22N15" which states that they will repair the problem at no cost to the original, or subsequent owners of the car. I've asked Ford to acknowledge that my car should have been included in that program and they refuse to do so, instead, asking me to contact the NTSB. The only way I can have my car inspected now is to use a 'hack' recommended to me by a sympathetic Ford dealership which is to have them turn my car off for an hour after I arrive and then do the inspection. This is clearly a workaround and I want Ford to apply the software fix to my car.

When outdoor temperatures are above 85 degrees, the interior of the vehicle becomes warm enough that the vehicle may not shift out of Park. Our most recent experience was while on vacation in Florida last week. The outdoor temperature was around 90 degrees, though likely warmer in the parking lot. The vehicle was parked on a flat surface facing the sun, wheels facing forward, no reflector in the windshield, windows closed. When starting the engine, vehicle started normally, all functions appeared normal, but could not shift out of Park. Tried rocking the vehicle back and forth, turning the wheel, brake lights functioned, no movement of the shifter- as though the round shifter of the vehicle was electronically locked. This does not seem like a safety issue, but my wife is [XXX] and could have happened in a location where she would not have help available. Forums on the Intrnet have multiple complaints. Ford told me that they do not know of an "issue" but did find that my car was misbuilt - the cable coming off of this switch is a two part cable, at least two different cable sets were used in the manufacture of the 2020 Escape. My vehicle used the A part of one set and the B part of a different set. Ford gave replacement parts for free, I paid $600 for diagnostics and labor. Latest incident happened after the correct cable set was installed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

All contact with my Ford dealer has resulted in "your door is on order, we don't know when it'll arrive". I addition to having a hard to open/close door, I also cannot fully open my drivers window. If I lower the window, it will hit the unsecured bracket that is flopping around inside the door. I'm concerned if I should lower the window, it'll break it. This is a part of this issue. The contact had spoken with the Manufacturer recall service representative where it was diagnosed with a fuel injection failure, that would be repaired by the manufacturer; however, the vehicle would not be repaired for an emissions valve failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

I had ford dealership run a code diagnostics on vehicle and found it needs computer updates and an expensive purge valve after having car for a couple days and hit me with a hefty price estimate I could not or NPP car warranty from ABC Nissan couldn’t cover for engine repairs since it wasn’t an engine issue but can affect the engine. This happened 3 or 4 days before I took it back to the dealership. I researched online and found out there were a lot of complaints about the 2020 Ford Escape 2.0 Titanium which is what my car is. I also seen where people were talking about a class action lawsuit due to the low miles on their cars and this happening. My car only has 31,000 miles. I took my car to the shop I had an appointment and they told me the ADM Module was bad. This is the same thing everyone online complained about. This is costing me $1100.00 to replace. I did not have any AWD traction this was useless. I read that someone said the recall should be expanded. Which tells me there was a recall at one point for this problem.

I reported my 2020 Ford Escape last year. It went into the shop for inspection at Cook ford in Texas City after the ford recall for the doors. I also had reported it here. Kyle at Cook ford did a thorough inspection but advised me that their dealership did not have a paint and body shop and referred me to other dealerships with the ability to fix my car. After going to two dealerships, I ended up at Maik Haik in Pasadena Texas. They said they had two doors in stock and three months later my car was still in the shop and not fixed. They had put me in a rental and said in early December that the rental was not being covered by Ford and they were having to "eat" the expense. So, they returned my car in December with hopes of getting parts for it in the future. It now has been two months and no call from them Now your website says I do not have an open recall on my vin, but it does! My car is still not fixed! I am [XXX] and the windows don't work and the locks also have been effected by the problem with the doors! My [XXX] brother and I got locked out of and In the car several times and I had to use my app to unlock the door or climb in the back to get in! During the time the dealership had my car they wiped off all the history in my app and I am not able to reconstruct the history of my car! Including the recalls! I am very upset! My wife and I bought our 2020 Ford Escape new from a dealer in 2020. We are the first owners of this vehicle. In the time that we have had it, we have experienced the following issues: 1- the forward camera module that provides collision prevention, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, etc has failed. The dealer claims that the unit “overheated”. The module is no longer covered under warranty due to mileage. The result is that our vehicle no longer has the safety features that we paid extra for upon initial purchase. 2- the evaporative canister purge valve failed, causing difficult starts after refueling. This was not covered under warranty, due to mileage. 3- the driver door hinge check arm welds have all broken loose and no longer hold the door when opening, and the loose arm is now preventing the door from closing properly and, when closed, causing the drivers window to not roll down fully. This is not covered under warranty because of mileage AND (while it is a manufacturing defect), it has not been subjected to any recalls, so the dealership will not repair/replace it.

I've heard of peoples doors falling off while driving because of this and we just bought the car at the end of October. We have yet to get it looked at, but it's not a cheap fix. There were no warnings or signs. I opened it normal like every other time.

VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stationary, the window made a popping sound and the front passenger’s side window failed to function as designed. The wrench and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that several unstated maintenance repairs were needed. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,145.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

This 2020 Ford Escape-with less than 67k miles on it-is mostly inoperable, as of this date. This car was financed, from a Fort Lauderdale. FL used car dealership, on or around [XXX]. The check engine light was on. I went to Autozone to see what codes this could be attributed to. I was given printouts, reflecting codes P0171 & P2BF1 [air flow ratio and/or fuel injector related issues]. Additionally, the oil life on the car was at 0%. I then checked to see if there were any open recalls. There were and on 12/3/24, 2 recall repairs were done at Grieco Ford (Oil separator Pan: 22V191; Drain Tube replacement: 22S73). The car was fine. An oil change took place on 12/14/24, where the engine coolant was topped off. There were no issues and the car was driven periodically, since its purchase, to Miami, because my Mother suffered a stroke on 10/21/24 and was in her 2nd intensive rehab. As her only child, I am her POA and advocate. However, on [XXX] serious overheating occurred, when I drove less than 1.5 miles away from home, and no engine coolant was in the reservoir. The car was sputtering and losing power. I had to pull over several times just to make it back home. Additionally, a seemingly oily/milky substance was around the radiator. As of [XXX], the motor mounts are worn causing the engine to violently shake and the original radiator is warped due to potential oil/coolant leaks the vehicle could have experienced, well before these recall repairs were executed. Also, there is another recall on this vehicle regarding fuel injector leaks. Ford has failed at any meaningful strides in fixing the litany of engine malfunctions; electrical system failures; and this car's computers disconnect in diagnosing issues adequately. I found out all of these AFTER financing this car due to limited options had due to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. I already paid $270 for January's-full coverage-insurance payment & have to pay a $410 CAR PAYMENT ON A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
