EXTERIOR LIGHTING

I bought this car used from Honda Dealership. It had 84,000 mileage on it and since then. The headlights are so dim and I can’t see you have to drive with high beam on every time I go at night I’ve changed almost we like 56 different types light bulb, but still nothing still worst. If I used one for the manufacturer one it’s nothing it’s literally dark outside. I can’t see nothing and another problem is as the ball joint since I bought it I took it from my first oil change when they did the inspection on the car they told me one of my passenger side ball joint was loose but that time I didn’t have money to repair it because it was almost $5000 they said and I was like I don’t have the money. I’m a college student so and recently my car wheel is to the left side more. Something if there’s anything I can do is there anything y’all can do to help cause I don’t want to get in an accident because of that thing.

SERVICE BRAKES

A couple months ago, my right rear brake line broke. Yesterday, my left brake line also broke. On the first occasion, a warning lamp appeared on my dash, but it did not alert me this most recent time. On both occasions, my breaks were very spongey and I noticed my car take an extended time to stop, and it never came to a complete stop. I also noticed greasy fluid leaking from the rear. The right side has been repaired by a Ford dealership, but I had to pay for it. I'm still awaiting a repair for this 2nd line and I have brought this recall notice to the dealerships attention. I've requested that the repair the part free of charge but it's not resolved yet

ENGINE

The check engine light turned on. It was diagnosed at Auto Zone as 'cylinder 2 not firing correctly' and the possibility of a bad sparkplug. At the Ford dealership (2 days later), it was diagnosed as a 'coolant intrusion'; leaking coolant into the engine. The engine currently works but the leak will cause engine failure. The Ford dealership service agent told me that this model Edge as well as the Escort with the same engine has had this same issue repeatedly. The engine has less than 70,000 miles and is no longer under warranty. Through researching this issue on my own, many people (especially on Reddit) have identified the same issue with these Ford cars ranging from 60,000-70,000 miles. The dealership is offering $2,000 check/buy back or a replacement of an engine at a value of $8, 350.

SERVICE BRAKES

So I bought my Ford edge in the early spring of 2025. A couple of months after I had this vehicle the brake fluid light started flashing on my dash so my husband checked the brake fluid level and it was low. We filled it up we proceeded to go on with our life, but then we started having to constantly put brake fluid in it about that same time I went and had an oil change done, and Jiffy Lube was doing the walk around of a car of my car and my husband asked him to please check the brakes because we were having to put an usual amount of brake fluid in car so upon inspection they noticed that the left rear brake line had burst and was leaking a considerable amount of brake fluid upon further investigation that my husband did he found that there was a recall done on the front brake lines and the way he read it was that the rear brake lines were also in question as well what he didn’t really realize at the beginning was that the rear tires or though I’m sorry the rear brake lines were under investigation of being recalled, but not recalled at this time so I’ve had $150 to have my brake lines fixed on the left rear side of the car I had them fixed with cell Ford in new Bern, North Carolina, and when I went back this evening to look at their inspection to figure out exactly what was fixed because when we stopped for gas this evening, my husband, after not being able to stop very well at a stop sign on the way to get gas saw that the left rear brake line had burst and if you hit the brake, the brake fluid would go spraying everywhere again. After we noticed, that is when we started looking for my receipt from a Ford to see exactly which side we had had replaced, we couldn’t remember off the top of our heads I didn’t at any rate. When we found the invoice online to the link that they had sent me the day, my car was getting fixed. We discovered that the left brakes were the ones that had come under recall however an investigation has been opened up on the rear brakes that

Answers to specific questions above: *Head gasket, coolant, engine failure *A running engine/coolant/and head gaskets are valuable to a vehicle to operate *Confirmed by an independent service center *Not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. When I got the first notification of a coolant warning, I drove it immediately to the independent service center *The check engine light came on, then the coolant is low light, to which I then took it in for service I purchased this vehicle in December 2024 from a private party with approximately 56,000 miles on it, which is well within what should be considered reasonable, reliable use for a Ford vehicle. To date, there are approximately 61,000 miles on the vehicle. In August 2025, I was forced to replace the motor due to a head gasket and coolant issues. The work was completed at a reputable local auto shop, Auto Aces, at a total cost of $6,649.30. After further research, I discovered there is a current Technical Service Bulletin for this exact make, model, and year, identifying the same issues I experienced. I understand that a TSB is not an official recall; however, it demonstrates that Ford was aware of the defect. I firmly believe Ford bears responsibility for this failure and the financial burden it has caused. Additionally, after only 16 months, the battery inexplicably failed and required replacement. While this was covered under warranty, it further illustrates the unreliability of this vehicle. This expense was not the result of normal wear and tear but of a documented defect that should never have been passed on to consumers.

3 months ago, Engine just stopped while driving. Thankfully traffic was light. Had it been one hour later I would have caused an accident on the freeway. Now just last week, the engine was starting rough and the check engine light came on. Brought it in and found out the coolant was intruding into the cylinders. Engine is ruined. Sounds very common for the failure of head gasket causing coolant leak into cylinders.

ENGINE

Known coolant intrusion issue in 15-18 Ford Edges. Coolant leaks into the cylinders, hard starts, check engine, without a new motor replaced, the engine will explode. This should be a recall since it’s consistent on almost every single edge from the years listed. I had to replace the engine at 88,000 miles. $8,000 of work done for an issue that is known to Ford.

ENGINE

Coolant intrusion into cylinder block requiring engine replacement. (I unfortunately own TWO 2017 Ford Edge Titanium vehicles with the defective 2.0 L EcoBoost engine). I have had to replace the engine in BOTH vehicles which failed withing 10,000 miles of one another. This engine failed at 105,000 miles. The vehicle has been routinely maintained and the failure occured with no warning. The company is aware of the defect and no longer supports customers. There is a TSB issued which identifies the issue (22-2229). A Ford Edge forum on Facebook reveals that a decent percentage of the membership with this era model have experienced the same failure, with the same lack of support from the manufacturer.

ENGINE

The first symptom on my 2017 2.0 L EcoBoost engine with 79,000 miles was a rough start and check engine indicator. The warning light cleared and engine ran better while at operating temp. The symptoms became worse over the next few weeks, when I noticed that there was no heat coming from the heater as the coolant was very low and the engine was overheating. I had difficulty removing the coolant reservoir cap as there was significant vacuum and no coolant showing. When I got the cap off, the coolant boiled up, leaving a small amount in the bottom. I added coolant to make it home and called the local Ford dealer who informed me that there is a service bulletin about coolant leaking into the cylinders and the repair might likely mean an engine replacement. The engine replacement would cost $12000 at the dealer so I brought the car to my mechanic who scoped the cylinders and found damage in the third cylinder. Since he had replaced nine of these engines for the same problem and knowing that the faulty engine design had been corrected in 2020, he recommended long block engine replacement, which has been completed. Had I not noticed the engine overheating, I could have been stranded or worse -- had an engine fire. My mechanic informed me he has now replaced ten 2016-2019 2.0 liter EcoBoost engines for the same issue.

While driving at highway speeds the engine suddenly began knocking, white smoke billowing from the car and it came to a stop. No lamps prior to failure. FORD is aware that 2017 Ford Edge vehicles were made with this defect. The dealer has confirmed code PO304 coolant intrusion into cylinder 4 and also determine that the turbo has failed. Failed turbo is also a known manufacturer defect by Ford. The safety issue is the dramatic loss of speed on the highway without warning while emitting a blinding and distracting smoke screen to other drivers.

My 2017 ford edge, 74,000 miles 2.0 eco boost had a code after hesitating, running rough and having white smoke from exhaust. The check engine light came on and the code was Po302. We replaced the coil pack and the light continued. Brought it to local dealership and they confirmed TSB-22-2229 and needed long block for 12,000$. Issues with 2.0 L EcoBoost engine overheating. A mechanic using a camera to investigate revealed coolant intrusion in engine. Mechanic located Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #22-2133 which indicated it was a known problem by Ford and recommended engine replacement at owner's expense. This had to be performed by a Ford dealership so that the engine could be re-programmed using proprietary software. The out-of-pocket cost to replace the engine was $7,559.08, plus $183.00 for the tow to the dealership. The mechanic's shop charged $32.60 to diagnose the problem. ENGINE

At less than 70,000 miles on the engine, a check engine light came on (July 2025). To this point there had been no lights or warnings, but apparently there was coolant intruding into the engine cylinder. This likely had been an ongoing issue but finally created a warning light around 69,000. This design defect created the potential for immediate engine overheating while traveling at highway speeds. A dealer has yet to look at my vehicle but an independent service center diagnosed a blown gasket due to the intrusion. And others with the same engine 2.0L have suffered similar issues (as evidenced by recent June 2025 class action suit).

ENGINE

I am the owner of a 2017 Ford Edge with only 63k miles on it (VIN: [XXX] ), which I purchased from Depaula Ford in July of 2020. This vehicle has experienced significant engine problems consistent with the symptoms described in TSB 19 2346. Specifically, my vehicle has suffered coolant intrusion into the combustion chamber, leading to white smoke from the exhaust, misfires, and a noticeable loss of coolant. After diagnostic inspection at Depaula Ford in Albany, it was confirmed that the engine requires replacement. STRUCTURE:BODY

My 2017 Ford Edge Sport has the exploding Panoramic moonroof. The first incident - the car was parked and the front movable glass panel was cracked (see picture 1). No objects hit the glass. The second incident occurred while was wife was driving on the interstate at 75mph. It sounded like a gun shot - glass exploded into the passenger compartment - luckily the sunvisor was CLOSED or my wife and her parents in the backseat would have been sprayed with broken glass (see pictures 2 and 3). No objects hit the glass - there were no other vehicles around her at the time of the incident. We have now replaced the movable glass panel twice at a total cost of $2500 -- via insurance with our deducible of $1000. And NOW - the rear non-movable glass panel is cracked! It just won't end! The 1st incident was about Oct. 25, 2024- the 2nd incident was around May 9, 2025.

ENGINE

I am filing this report due to a serious and costly engine failure in my 2017 Ford Edge Titanium with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine. My vehicle has always been properly maintained and I recently experienced pre-mature engine issues at only 93,000 miles. The issue began with rough starts, hovering RPMs, and eventually led to a complete engine failure. My mechanic diagnosed the problem as coolant intrusion into the engine, which I have since learned is a known issue covered by Ford’s Technical Service Bulletin TSB 19-2208. It appears most people begin experiencing this issue at 50,000-90,000 miles. The cost to replace the engine is between $8,000 and $9,000, and my vehicle is no longer under warranty. I am still paying off this car, which makes this financially devastating — and this failure occurred well before the end of a reasonable engine lifespan. I’m concerned this issue poses a safety risk, as coolant loss and engine failure could happen suddenly while driving. Ford has not issued a recall or formal repair program, despite hundreds (if not thousands) of similar complaints online. I respectfully urge the NHTSA to investigate the 2015–2018 Ford Edge with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine for a potential recall or safety action related to premature engine failure due to internal coolant leaks.

Bought this car a couple of years ago. In the past 6 months we have had to have brakes/rotors fixed ($650), spark plugs, etc ($780). It's had issues with not starting after fueling up with gas. It's been riding rough and rattling/vibrating. Took it to mechanic and he told me it was a manufacturer issue with cylinder 3. Coolant has been leaking and causing misfires. Basically needs a engine rebuild. Recommended we call Ford dealership because it has had several reports filed for this reason. We immediately went to dealership and were basically told "not our problem". But we will run a diagnostic exam for $145 but unless it's under warranty it's your problem. We're like no thank you. Literally just had a $80 diagnostic exam done at the other mechanic. Still owe several thousand on this vehicle that's now basically gonna sit and rot away. Mechanic told us it was unsafe to drive.

The rear brake lines completely failed, leaked as I drove down the driveway. Had to have the car towed and had to pay Ford to replace the lines; over $650. The front brake lines had done the same thing a few years ago. These Ford Edges have lots of manufacturing defects. I had to have the entire engine replaced due to fluid leaking into the pistons. Luckily it was under extended warranty, but Ford should have had to replace anyway since it's a well-documented problem. I'd like the rear brake lines to be under recall so I can get reimbursed.

The rear camera started to turn into a blue screen and sometimes it looked like static. We were told to go to Ford to change the camera (2020 or 2021?). After paying over $900 to fix the camera it broke yet again. We were 3 months past the 2 year warranty and was told if we wanted it fixed we would have to pay again. Now sometimes the camera works when backing out and sometimes its just solid blue. It is available for inspection upon request. This is risky because sometimes there are blind spots when turning our heads to ensure we are not going to hit a pedestrian. Also it takes me twice as long to reverse park due to having to use my mirrors to see the lines which causes drivers to honk or appear restless because I'm not fast enough which could cause me to crash into a parked vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership which is why they told us to replace it, but now they want us to replace it yet again. No warning lights. The vehicle no longer detects if objects are nearby. This happened shortly before the camera went out. They quoted us on fixing it and we refused due to cost. The vehicle drivers seat cooling and heating no longer works. It works for the passenger, but not the driver. This happened in 2019.

Engine and Cooling Failure on my 2017 Ford Edge. Transmission operating poorly and check engine light was on. Went to dealer for service, and was told faulty gasket is leading to coolant intrusion into the transmission. Was told needed to replace engine at cost of $10,500. This is a widespread issue on this model yet Ford refuses to recall it and fix it, and this despite the fact that they recalled other models with the same engine. An 8-year old car should not have to be junked. The NHTSA needs to do the right thing and force Ford to recall this model and replace the engine.

ENGINE

I had purchased the 8 year warranty plan for my 2017 Ford Edge. The week before it expired, I took it in for a oil change and final check. The mileage was only 42,542 miles. Brakes were replaced under warranty and all looked good. Literally the next time we drove it after getting home, at about 55 mph the check engine light came on, motive power was lost, and the brakes and gas pedal lost power. After pumping the brake we got it stopped safely and then towed to the dealer. The code they found was P06E9 and after checking, no engine rotation was detected and the engine was seized and had to be replaced. I have a 2.7L EcoBoost engine which I have since learned has had many issues, class action lawsuits, and also a recall for Ford Edge years 2021 - 2022 for the same engine - replaced for free. Since it was 10 days out of warranty, and literally 50 miles driven out of warranty, Ford would not do anything to repair the car even though the engine issue is a known problem. Repair cost was quoted at $14,849.

This last time I was pulling out of the pharmacy and my peddle went straight to the floor and I couldn't stop I was luckily in a empty parking lot. I keep having problems with the brakes and loud squealing noises. I stopped going to the dealership because they said I drive alot and need new breaks every 4 months, when I shouldn't need breaks every couple thousand miles. I'm being tooken advantage of. I can't afford to keep getting brakes and rotors. I'm a single mom on disability. I just got new break pads and rotors and calipers a month ago. I brought my truck into a mechanic to clean the break parts because my rims are so dirty and the squealing is so loud and when I come to a complete stop my truck feels hesitant. The mechanic cleaned & greased my pads and calipers and out some red paste said that should help but it didn't. This is absolutely insanity. Something is wrong. This is the 2nd time my passenger seat belt has stopped working and my air bag light is on. I can't afford to take it back to the dealership and pay 100s of dollars. This has been a repeating problem for years with the breaks. 5 years to be exact. And 8 months ago I fixed the seatbelt.

Appx cost $6000-$7000 Just 2 weeks before while having the oil changed and new brakes installed (because the check brake light came on), they had informed me that the water pump had a tiny leak that I might want to fix but to keep an eye on the temp gauge and carry some coolant until it got fixed. There are approximately 78,000 miles on the car. Recently, a rough start caused the "check engine" light to come on. After taking it to a repair shop, the mechanic discovered there was coolant seeping into the #1 cylinder. Research confirmed that it was a known issue associated with a 'porous block' created during the casting process. Ford has known about this issue with the 2.0 In-line 4 eco-boost engine for over a decade and has not recalled the engine or offered to make any sort of restitution. Coolant Intrusion on EcoBoost 2.0L engine, cylinders #2 and #3 due to head gasket failure. Failure is due to open deck coolant system on engine re-design which was done on 2017- 2019 model years. The engine redesign (to get more horsepower) required more cooling so they "channeled" coolant between the cylinders leaving very little space for head gasket to seal. The only "fix" (see their TSBs) is to replace the entire long block on the vehicle. This replacement long block is not the same design, but a instead is a new one which has been re-engineered specifically because of the faulty design mentioned above. The cost quoted to do this through the Ford dealer that sold the car when it was new is $7,608.12. Ford customer service has been asked for financial assistance and has refused to provide any financial support. The vehicle in question only has 59,652 miles on it. TSBs issued re this are: 19-2346 and 22-2229

Vehicle has the 2.0 EcoBoost Turbo engine. The original engine produced same issues, mechanic found coolant intrusion at around 78,000 mi and replaced it for around $6,000 out of pocket in March of 2023. Logged everything with the local Ford to ensure new engine warranty stayed intact. Now the replaced engine is experiencing the same and also more concerning issues. Starting in Late January early February 2025, engine has 19,000 mi, vehicle has around 97,700 mi. Vehicle issues began with rough idling & white exhaust at cold start. Vehicle began shutting off while driving. It would never show any signs beforehand, would be driving normally, and then suddenly vehicle shut off and losses all power. Happened 5 times to me going speeds averaging from 35-75, including 3 times on a highway. Took vehicle into shop multiple times to rule out issues. Mechanic noticed a leaking gasket (commonly known issue with this engine), knowing the engine had warranty it was towed to the local Ford dealership. Dealership said the engine was experiencing coolant intrusion. However, in order to even request for an engine replacement under warranty they would have to do an engine teardown at around $5,000 in labor out of pocket. This vehicle is unpredictable and has sat undriven since February 2025. Ford is doing everything to get out of fixing their manufacturing issue & to disprove the part warranty that no one will give me a copy of. This issue is also logged on the Service Bulletin 19-2346

The car started burning through coolant. A pressure test was done to determine if there way a leak, and there wasn’t. About a week later it missed when I started the car and the check engine light came on. The light was from code P0304 which is a 4th cylinder misfire. This is posted as a service technical bulletin by Ford. As we drove the car it started to misfire while driving. I was worried it would stop running while I was driving. We took the car to AutoNation Westlake Ford. They determined it is coolant intrusion into the 4th cylinder and it is from a design flaw with the engine. It is a mechanical defect due to poor engine design. The entire engine needs replaced. I have called Ford customer service and they said there is nothing Ford can do to even assist with the $11,000 repair of the car. I am left with a car I cannot drive due to safety concerns for myself and others on the road. I either try to figure out how to pay $11,000 for the repairs or scrap the car and have nothing to show for it. It is in amazing condition. 104,000 miles. I have pictures attached of the bore scope used to see where the leak is happening. The coolant is seen on the mating surface of the engine block and running down into the 4th cylinder. You can see the previous trails of fluid all along the side of the engine as well.

2017 Ford Edge begin overheating. Diagnostic test revealed a cracked block & coolant consumption issues. This vehicle has a 2.0 Ecoboost with open block design. The diagnostic test was performed by Jones Automotive, Germantown TN. Since the vehicle isn't drivable, it has not been taken to a Ford dealership. What I've ended up with in a mixture oil and coolant with a sludge consistency filtering throughout the engine which is now a non-operational vehicle with ~ $5,000 payoff. As far as safety is concerned, this vehicle was in danger of the engine catching fire. The only warning received was the engine overheating which prompted me to take it our ship to determine the problem.

I bought this 2017 Ford Edge SEL with the 2.0L Ecoboost engine as a used vehicle in 2022. It started to have unexplained coolant loss and a check engine light indicating a misfires in cylinders #2 and #3. The car was taken to a local Ford dealer who diagnosed it with "COOLANT INTRUSION CYLINDER #2" and they indicated that it was a known issue with this engine but Ford had not issued a recall. They also indicated that the defect creates a safety risk, because the lack of coolant created by the leaks causes overheating and can result in the cylinder head cracking, total engine failure, and/or engine fires. They said my only option was a complete engine replacement at my own cost.

August 2024 check engine light illuminated and white smoke coming from exhaust. Upon inspection, it was determined coolant was leaking into a cylinder causing corrosion and intrusion of the coolant into the engine. The car had 111,426 miles with no warranty. I had the engine replaced at a cost of $5710. This was a known problem by Ford causing them to issue Technical Safety Bulletin 19-2208, but did not notify the consumers. There are several class action suits for this identical issue. The recent Ford recall of the 2.0 eco boost engine in other models should have also included the 2017 Ford Edge. Started car and heard rattling noise. Took the car to shop and was told it was the flex plate. Called Ford to see if I could get it repaired under CSP 22n12 I was told I COULD NOT because I previously took my car to the Ford dealer because it was driving rough and making a sound so I took it in to see if it was the flex plate (another Ford dealer diagnosed it with the coolant intrusion issue) and because they said they inspected it and despite making no repairs the dealership closed the CSP 22N12 on my car. I called Ford Customer Service and was told I could file a complaint but there is nothing that they can do. First I had to deal with coolant intrusion and now the flex plate! I bought the car used from a Ford Dealer in October 2024. The car had a clean CARFAX and solid maintenance history and just under 40,000 miles at time of purchase. In December 2024, there were several instances of rough idle at time of cold start that quickly cleared. In January 2025, it stopped blowing heat. My local garage found it was low on coolant but could not identify a leak. A few more days of driving showed continued loss of coolant. I brought it back to dealer I bought it from and their service department confirmed there was coolant in the engine cylinders and a full engine replacement was needed - a condition consistent with Ford's Technical Service Briefing issued in 2019. Ford customer service is unwilling to support the cost of that repair due to the age of the vehicle. Ford has admitted that there was a manufacturing defect in some of their engine line across models. They issued a recall for certain models with this issue, but not for my vehicle. It is insane to me that a car manufacturer, who acknowledges a mistake in production of their engines won't stand behind a vehicle with less than 45,000 miles on the engine.

**Incident Summary:** I am reporting an issue with my 2017 Ford Edge with an EcoBoost engine. The vehicle has 39,844 miles on it. The component that failed is the head gasket, which has warped due to coolant intrusion. This issue led to the necessity of a full engine replacement. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. **Safety Concerns:** The malfunction compromised my safety and the safety of others as it led to the car overheating and the check engine light coming on. These symptoms started during the summer. Overheating poses a significant risk, potentially causing engine failure while driving, which could lead to dangerous situations on the road. Moreover, the presence of coolant in the oil and exhaust fumes indicated severe engine damage, which could have resulted in a fire hazard if not addressed promptly. **Problem Reproduction and Confirmation:** The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an authorized Ford dealership. They performed a detailed inspection and diagnosed that the engine needs to be replaced due to the warped head gasket and coolant intrusion. **Inspections:** The vehicle and the failed component have been inspected by the Ford dealership. No inspections have been conducted by police, insurance representatives, or other authorities. **Warning Signs:** There were warning signs prior to the complete failure. The check engine light started coming on intermittently over the summer, and the car began to overheat. These symptoms indicated an underlying issue, which eventually led to the discovery of the warped head gasket and coolant intrusion. **Assessment:** Based on the inspections and symptoms, it is clear that the coolant intrusion into the engine led to the head gasket's failure. This is a known issue with EcoBoost engines, and it caused significant damage, warranting a complete engine replacement.

Coolant Intrusion issue - this is a known issue subject to a class action lawsuit. My vehicle was textbook - check engine light with accompanying code for a misfire on Cylinder 3. Then it would run rough upon starting. Next, the heater was acting up (on and off). Then billowing white smoke that smells sweet. Coolant reservoir was low, but not empty. Vehicle has 75,000 miles on it and is not drivable without a $7000-$9000 long block replacement due to the risk of fire. Called Ford customer service and was told the TSB did not even apply to my vehicle (as though a known design defect is related to a particular manufacturing facility).

I was driving down the highway at highway speeds (60-70mph), and bunch of lights came up on my dashboard. Primarily, the vehicle was indicating a high temperature issue. Due to this high temperature, the vehicle went into “low power mode”, to conserve heat, which caused my gas pedal to respond slowly, and leaving me feeling very unsafe. I have since gotten the car inspected and repaired. The independent service center (Christian Brothers - Fossil Creek), identified that the issue was a coolant intrusion into 2 cylinders that effectively ruined the engine. I had to have a whole engine replacement. Ford is not offering any support, even though the NHTSA has reported it as a known problem with this engine type (bulletin 19-2346)

Coolant intrusion into the engine block due to a manufacturing defect in the cylinder walls. Needs engine replacement. I have had this car since 12/8/2020. No extended warranty. I have 60,000 miles on this 2017 Ford Edge and it needs an $8,000.00 engine. I still owe $11,000.00 on this vehicle. If the engine isn't repaired, it could overheat shutting down the motor and could cause extreme danger to the driver and even resulting in a fatality. We as consumers need your help in creating a recall on these vehicles. There are thousands of us that have lost so much money to repairs that should not be happening due to faulty engine blocks.

2L EcoBoost Engine was diagnosed as having porosity issues (tiny holes throughout engine which causes the coolant to leak into engine). The dealership informed me that it is a manufacturer defect and the only fix is to drop a new engine into the vehicle. My manufacturer warranty has obviously expired, but there are known recalls issued on a large number of their newer vehicles for the exact same issue I'm experiencing, as well as a civil suit filed against them in the state of California for the exact year and model of my car for the same issue. I contacted Ford Consumer Affairs and was told they are unwilling to do anything to fix their error as the warranty has expired. While I understand there is no current warranty, if a recall is issued they are responsible for fixing/replacing the faulty part(s) regardless of an existing warranty. Given that this is solely an issue caused by Ford Motor Company, they should be liable to resolve this issue. This problem causes other issues with the heating/cooling system as the coolant levels go to basically zero when the car is being operated as all the coolant is running throughout the engine block and has been known to cause fires and is a major safety hazard for anyone forced to drive a vehicle in this condition.

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue I have encountered with my Ford vehicle, which I believe may indicate a broader safety concern that warrants investigation. Below is a detailed account of the problem: On November 27, 2024, my vehicle’s check engine light came on. I took it to O’Reilly Auto Parts, where the diagnostic code recommended replacing the spark plugs and coils due to a misfire in cylinder #2. Following their recommendation, I took the vehicle to Deer Valley Car Care, where the spark plugs were replaced. The check engine light turned off afterward. However, just one week later, the check engine light came on again, and the vehicle began to overheat. I had the vehicle towed back to Deer Valley Car Care, where they diagnosed coolant in cylinder #2. They advised me to take the vehicle to Bell Ford, as they informed me that this was a known issue with Ford engines, and Ford recommends replacing the entire engine in such cases. Upon further inspection by Bell Ford, they confirmed the diagnosis and also recommended replacing the long block engine. This issue, as explained by the dealership, is a known defect with the engine, and Ford is recalling newer models for this problem, but not my specific model. My vehicle has only 75,000 miles on it, and I take excellent care of it. To find that a defect in the engine has caused coolant intrusion into the cylinder is troubling. The fact that Ford does not offer a repair solution and instead recommends a full engine replacement further reinforces the seriousness of the issue. I was quoted approximately $9,000 for the repair, which I find unacceptable considering the relatively low mileage on the vehicle and the nature of the defect. Ford has acknowledged that this is a known issue, yet only newer models are included in their recall, leaving vehicles like mine outside the scope of any recourse. I believe Ford should be held accountable for this defect.

My wife was driving the car and had no heat. Once she got home we realized that the car was out of coolant. This has been found to be the known issue with this car. Coolant intrusion into the cylinder. This has the potential to overheat causing someone to pull over and get hit on the highway. Especially with the snow and low visibility conditions I’m glad my wife was able to make it home without being injured. This car is only a 2017 with around 122,000 miles. I’m writing this to hopefully save someone else in the future.

I took my Ford Edge in as the engine was making a loud rattling noise, i was told i had a cracked Flex plate and Ford will only cover half. I was NEVER notified of this recall and now i am in charge of paying 50% of a SAFETY issue because of Ford's mistake. I am now not able to drive my car advised by the mechanic because of this safety issue. This is a program by Ford and should be a recall. I should not be stuck paying 50% for something Ford messed up and am now not able to drive my vehicle as it was deemed unsafe. I also should not be paying 50% of something because Ford never legally notified me.
