Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.

Risk: A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.

Risk: A loss of oil pressure can result in an engine stall and a loss of power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

Despite this known defect, Ford has refused to cover the repair or offer relief, leaving the consumer with a non-functioning vehicle and a significant outstanding loan balance. Details: • Engine failure occurred despite regular maintenance and diligent payment of the auto loan. • Consumer received Ford correspondence acknowledging oil pump failure risks. • Capital City Bank, the lienholder, continues to demand payments for a vehicle that is mechanically inoperable due to a defect outside the consumer’s control. • This defect has created financial hardship and left the consumer without reliable transportation.

On March 13, 2025, while driving, my 2020 Ford EcoSport suddenly lost power and shut down. The vehicle is under Recall 23S64 (oil pump failure). I had to tow it to a shop, which confirmed low oil pressure, then to Ford, who confirmed complete engine failure and replaced the engine parts. I was without a vehicle for 34 days and Ford refused to provide a rental unless it was a Ford-brand, which was unavailable. After the engine replacement, further issues occurred: check engine light, battery failure, overheating, coolant leaks, and multiple installation errors including a missing coolant line bracket (causing leaks), cross-threaded turbo-to-cat converter stud, missing splash shield, and broken overflow line. This sounded ridiculous to me so I left messages for management but my calls were not returned.

I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL IN A ONLINE NEWS ARTICLE IN DECEMBER 2024. FORD NEVER ADVISED. WHEN I WENT TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP Winner Ford FOR AN OIL CHANGE IN NOVEMBER 2024 THEY DID NOT ADVISE OF THE RECALL EITHER. THIS NEW DEALER Willis Ford I SAW IN MAY 2025 CONFIRMED THAT THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE THEY FOUND METAL SHAVINGS IN MY CHANGED OUT OIL. THEY ADVISED THEY WOULD INSPECT MY VEHICLE AND REACH OUT TO FORD FOR PERMISSION TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. AS OF 2 WEEKS AGO THIS DEALERSHIP WAS NOT AWARE THAT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND WERE GOING TO GIVE ME A LOANER WHILE I WAITED FOR INSPECTION. THEY OFFERED ANOTHER ECOSPORT THAT THEY CLAIM HAD BEEN INSPECTED AND WAS SAFE. MY ISSUE IS WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR NOT ADVISING ME OF THE RECALL. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY CAR BUT 132 MILES SINCE FINDING OUT ABOUT THE RECALL. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE HAD TO WAIT ON FRIENDS OR FAMILY TO BRING ME TO PHILADELPHIA PA TO SEE MY SON AND GRANDKIDS. On [XXX] I was riding down the road and the Low Engine Oil light came on. I came home and looked for the recall paper that I received in the mail. I found it and that's what the recall was for. I immediately took my car into Jim Hudson Ford in Lexington SC. They put it on the machine and found it was in fact the recall issue. They are telling me the engine is on National back order and they have no idea when they will be getting the engine. In the meantime they have no rentals. I have been without a vehicle since [XXX]. SEAT BELTS

After about a year after purchasing my 2020 Ford EcoSport The seat belt on the driver's side is stretched out and doesn't hold in my opinion tightly enough for me to feel safe, hoe can I remedy this, My only complaint is so far driver's seat belt if I can get this fixed through Ford Motor Company, I could breathe a safe sigh of relief.

I was driving on a highway in Florida and the engine oil pressure light came on with no warning. In the past if there was low oil, I would receive an alert on the vehicle and on my phone. This warning provided no notice and abruptly lowered the speed of my vehicle. I was not able to drive faster than 40 MPH, and that speed dropped again to about 20 MPH as I was finding a safe location to stop. Adding oil did not remedy this issue. I had to get my vehicle towed to a Ford location where I was told they would only give me the value of $4K for my vehicle trade in. I was stranded in a city I was not familiar with and had no alternative means of lodging or transportation. This was a known recall and Ford took advantage of my situation. I feel like I was baited and switched for a known recall.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. In addition, the engine overheated and seized. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be completely cleaned out and detailed prior to being serviced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with several failures, and DTC: P0217, P0496, P04DB, P1825 and P1299 were retrieved. Additionally, the contact stated the engine had been replaced by the dealer in February 2023; however, the contact was informed that the warranty had since expired. The contact stated that four days after the repair, the check engine warning light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken back to the dealer several times due to the failures and the dealer reset the check engine warning light. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,444.

THIS RECALL BEING UNABLE TO BE COMPLETED IS CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY ENGINE AND RESTRICTING MY DRIVING. I CAN NOT EVEN MAKE IT HOME FROM WORK WITH OUT THE CAR TRYING TO STOP, TEMP IS WAY UP AND OIL PREASSURE DROPS. ARIZONA'S HOT WEATHER INCREASES THIS ISSUE. Now I have been paying for a car rental from my own pocket, not sure how much longer this will be. Also, I will pay for $1,000 deductible when I pick up my car because I filed a claim through my insurance which covered only my towing and a portion of the cost for repairs after my deductible. This is so unfair because Ford said they will NOT cover anything. This is now causing hardship financially with my family. I am a single Mom, sole provider and now, I will have to be late on my rent depending on how long it will get fixed too, since I need to get a rental in order to continue to get to work, take my daughter to school and care for my elderly parents. I feel so defeated because I can't rely on a car that I need for my livelihood. I did not cause nor ask for this, but Ford is not helping alleviate the ripple effects that this caused my family. What's worse is that when I spoke with Ford in 12/27/2024, they acknowledged that this only a band aid, not a definite solution for the problem. I don't think that I will have any more money in the future to deal with something they know may catch on fire again. It is so immoral. I would like to also add that I purchased an extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle in 10/2020. Since I am now over the miles stipulated, Ford will not budge. I only got free oil changes from an extended warranty that was over $6,000. Again, very immoral. Please help me and my family. I would like to join if there's an ongoing class action lawsuit.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

For the past 3 weeks my check engine light would appear then disappear. On 01-09-25 I scheduled with a in town loco mechanic shop. Gave him my worries about how my check engine light sometimes comes on. I was advised to take my vehicle to the Ford dealership because they could not replace the sensors I needed, only Ford can?? I picked up my car and the check engine light was not on. Today [XXX] in the morning check engine light is on. Once I put the gear in drive my vehicle was struggling for speed. It struggled so much that it made me a bit nervous that I returned home right away. So……I decided to do a little research on my vehicle. It has low mileage. Oh boy. I didn’t know Ford had some recalls. I plan on requesting an inspection from the manufacturer. I was never informed or notified of any specific needs to be repaired as part of a recall?? ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to depress the accelerator pedal; however, there was a loss in automotive power. The failure occurred on several occasions. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the residence. A dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
