Recalls- Wheelchair lift restraint belt failure. NHTSA recall 10V151000 affects 65 vehicles. The restraint belt may appear latched without fully engaging the latch, allowing the lift to move with an occupant on the platform. This can cause injury to the user. The remedy includes warning decals and a DVD training aid.
- Wheelchair lift software malfunction. NHTSA recall 10V153000 affects 65 vehicles. A software issue may cause the lift to overrun the floor level if the "up" button is released too soon, posing a tipping or falling hazard to users. Repairs involve dealer-performed software updates and operator training material.
- Wheelchair lift restraint belt failure. NHTSA recall 10V242000 affects 60 vehicles. Defect and risk are consistent with recall 10V151000. Remedy involves warning decals and training aids by Ricon.
- Wheelchair lift software malfunction. NHTSA recall 10V243000 affects 60 vehicles. Details match recall 10V153000 including risks and dealer-performed updates.
- Replacement fuel tank leakage. NHTSA recall 11E047000 affects 17 vehicles. Replacement fuel tanks installed in 2004-2008 E-Series vans may have unsealed OBDII sensor holes causing fuel leaks. A fuel leak risks fire if ignition occurs. Free fuel tank replacement is provided by dealers.
- Armored pendant cable contact risk. NHTSA recall 13V261000 affects 37 vehicles. The armored cable on certain Ricon wheelchair lifts may contact power lugs without proper insulation, risking electrical short and fire. Owners receive cover kits and instructions at no charge.
- Cracking platform side plates. NHTSA recall 14V617000 affects 286 vehicles. Ricon wheelchair lift side plates may crack causing the platform to separate and fall when doors open, risking injury to operators. Supplemental bumpers or platform replacement are offered free of charge.
- Cracking platform side plates. NHTSA recall 14V706000 affects 34 vehicles. Same defect and risk as recall 14V617000. Remedies include bumpers or replacements at authorized dealers.
- Cracking platform side plates. NHTSA recall 14V584000 affects 45 vehicles. The defect and risks mirror recalls 14V617000 and 14V706000. Free repairs and replacements are provided by dealers.
- Platform cracks and folding link arm failure. NHTSA recall 15V763000 affects 285 vehicles. Wheelchair lift side plates may crack and folding link arm pivot holes may be oversized, allowing bearings to displace and cause platform failure or detachment, risking operator injury. Dealers install supports and replace damaged parts at no cost.
- Folding link arm bearing displacement. NHTSA recall 15V729000 affects 667 vehicles. The oversized pivot holes can cause bearing displacement, leading to platform mounting failure and potential lift platform detachment during vehicle door opening. Inspections and part replacements are performed free of charge. Note many affected vehicles underwent related 2014 repairs.
- Platform cracks and folding link arm bearing displacement. NHTSA recall 16V350000 affects 2 vehicles. Both defects may cause the platform to separate and fall out of the vehicle when doors open, risking injury. Inspections and replacements are provided at no cost.
- Platform mounting failure from bearing displacement. NHTSA recall 15V779000 affects 278 vehicles. Bearing displacement may cause platform failure and detachment, posing operator injury risk. Dealers inspect and repair affected parts free of charge. Vehicles were previously subject to a related 2014 recall.
Owners of 2007 FORD E-250 vehicles facing repeated repairs or unresolved defects related to wheelchair lifts or fuel system recalls may want to review their rights under applicable state lemon laws for potential remedies.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN REPLACEMENT FUEL TANKS THAT COULD BE INSTALLED INTO MODEL YEAR 2004 THROUGH 2008 E-150, E-250, AND E-350 VANS AND WAGONS. THE AFFECTED FUEL TANKS HAVE AN EXTRA OBDII SENSOR HOLE ON THE TOP OF THE TANK THAT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY SEALED AND MAY LEAK FUEL.

EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY
MOBILITY TRANSPORTATION (MTS) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007 THROUGH 2009 CONVERSION VANS BUILT ON FORD E150, E250, AND E350 CHASSIS FROM SEPTEMBER 16, 2008 THROUGH APRIL 15, 2009 AND FITTED WITH CERTAIN RICON S SERIES AND K SERIES L-MODEL WHEELCHAIR LIFTS. DUE TO A PROBLEM IN THE SOFTWARE THAT CONTROLS THE LIFT'S "UP" FUNCTION, SHOULD THE "UP" BUTTON BE RELEASED BEFORE THE FLOOR LEVEL LIMIT SWITCH IS ACTIVATED, THE LIFT MAY CONTINUE ITS UPWARD TRAVEL AND MAY OVERRUN THE FLOOR LEVEL CUT OFF POINT.
Risk: WHEN THE PLATFORM OVERRUNS THE VEHICLE FLOOR LEVEL AND STOPS AT AN ANGLE FROM 15-20 DEGREES, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR A PERSON IN A WHEELCHAIR TO TIP OVER AND FOR SOMEONE STANDING ON THE PLATFORM TO FALL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN INJURIES.

EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY
MOBILITY TRANSPORTATION (MTS) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007 THROUGH 2009 CONVERSION VANS BUILT ON FORD E150, E250, AND E350 CHASSIS FROM SEPTEMBER 16, 2008 THROUGH APRIL 15, 2009 AND FITTED WITH RICON PUBLIC USE LIFTS. THE RESTRAINT BELT ON THESE LIFTS WAS DESIGNED TO PREVENT THE LIFT FROM MOVING, UNLESS THE TONGUE OF THE BELT IS FULLY ENGAGED AND LATCHED IN THE BUCKLE. RICON HAS DISCOVERED, HOWEVER, THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE OPERATOR TO INSERT THE BELT TONGUE INTO THE BUCKLE WITHOUT FULLY ENGAGING THE LATCHING MECHANISM. IN THIS CASE, THE RESTRAINT BELT WOULD APPEAR TO BE LATCHED, AND THE OPERATOR COULD RUN THE LIFT. IF THE RESTRAINT BELT TONGUE IS NOT FULLY ENGAGED INTO THE RESTRAINT BELT BUCKLE, AND LATCHED, THE LIFT MAY OPERATE WITH AN OCCUPANT ON THE PLATFORM.
Risk: THE USER OF THE LIFT COULD BE INJURED SHOULD THE LIFT MOVE WITHOUT THE RESTRAINT BELT PROPERLY BUCKLED.
