My 2022 Ford Bronco Sport started making grinding noises when I would back up at an angle earlier this summer. I made an appointment and took the car to the dealership. They took it apart and determined it was the transaxle. The tech said this was a known problem, but not a recall. Luckily, I was within the 36-month warranty. However, due to trouble getting parts, the dealership has had my car for seven weeks now. The parts arrived, but they said they didn't have the right tool because this was a "fairly extensive rebuild." This vehicle has just over 28,000 miles on it.

The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated but went off independently. The contact stated that with the weather change, the heat was needed; however, the contact was concerned with the strong fuel odor inside the vehicle and stated that the odor was dangerous. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was provided with the cost for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact later received notification NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel system, Gasoline); however, parts were not yet available to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,136.

I noticed my coolant level dropping about a year ago. I would fill up the coolant reservoir and the coolant level would drop within a few days. The issue was from the water pump leaking. I replaced the water pump with an OEM ford water pump. One year later the coolant level is dropping, and I have the same issue again. Looking at some of the forums, this appears to be a common issue with this make and mode.

I have had multiple issues with my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport in the past 3 years and there have been multiple recalls. The ac failed at the 2 year mark and the rear brakes also started to make an odd noise intermittently when I would have the vehicle in reverse. I reported it and asked Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax, VA to check it twice (this is the dealership I purchased the vehicle from - I had them check it on 7/3/24 and 9/28/24 and have service records confirming) and they said they could find nothing wrong and there was no recall for it and there was nothing they could do (keeping in mind my vehicle was under warranty at that time). Fast forward to today, I go in for an oil change and mention the rear brakes are making noise again and ask if they can check it for me. They told me there is now a remedy for the issue, acknowledging there wasn't in the past. I mentioned at the time that I had reported and asked about it twice and why should I now have to pay for that when clearly this is a defect that should have been addressed by Ford when I initially reported it (keeping in mind that my vehicle is now out of warranty). Then they tell me I need to replace the front brake pads and brake fluid for a cost of over 1k and rear rotors and brake pads for 1200, but admitted the rear brake pads are not that bad and can wait. I do not ride my brakes and have no history of that in any vehicle I've ever owned, so I did some research and learn that this is an issue with the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport which seems to have MANY issues. Ford is not acknowledging any of the issues that this specific year/make/model has. I clearly alerted them to an issue a year ago and they claimed to have no solution but now they magically do once it's out of warranty? Clearly having defective brakes is a safety issue, not to mention the fuel injector issue that is under recall - apparently Ford doesn't have the part for that either. Please issue a recall for the defective brake pads and rotors.

I have a 2022 Ford Bronco Big Bend that I bought brand new, and just three years later, the transmission completely failed—without any warning signs. No lights, no noises, no slow shifting. It just suddenly died while I was driving and left me stranded in the middle of the highway, which was incredibly dangerous. I immediately tried to move over to the right lane, but the car was behaving erratically— accelerating, slowing down, braking, then speeding up again on its own. Once it was taken to the mechanic, they found the shifter wasn’t even functioning properly. When placed in neutral, the car would accelerate. When placed in drive, it would go backward, and when in reverse, it would go forward. It was officially diagnosed with transmission failure after I had it towed to my nearest dealership. I’ve maintained this vehicle responsibly and have never driven it roughly or taken it off-road. Still, I was quoted nearly $10,000 to replace the transmission, which is outrageous for a three-year-old SUV. Ford refuses to cover the repair, even though this seems like a serious manufacturing issue. I’m still making payments on the vehicle, and now it’s completely unusable. I’ve heard of similar things happening to other ford broncos and I want there to be a full recall because it’s clearly a major problem.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? AutoNation Ford Corpus Christi found purge valve making abnormal clicking sound, valve sticking and closed. I replaced the valve with a new OEM part. Code P04F0 came off but vehicle would still lag and sputter when accelerating. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? feels like vehicle can hesitate or stop while accelerating and get rear ended Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Took vehicle back to AutoNation Corpus Christi and the tech's cannot find anything wrong with the vehicle but there is definitely an obvious issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Inspected by AutoNation Corpus Christi technicians and they cannot pinpoint the issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Warning light code P04F0 comes on, recommended purge valve replaced but issue vehicle still lags and sputters when accelerating.

Vehicle stutters when driving at slower speeds, usually between 22-27 MPH. After purchasing my vehicle used I have found that others have been reporting the same issue, to include in brand new Bronco Sports, and have been advised that is just how they are. Switching to sport mode does seem to help but the stutters occurs at different speeds. There has been no known part identified as causing the issue. There are no warnings displayed and no codes showing.

I bought my vehicle brand new and have received several recall notices and have had to have repairs done for common issues not featured in recalls but maybe service bulletins. I have had the water pump replaced 2x in the last 2 years Rear differential replaced completely linked to the recalled issue. PCM software is being recalled for the second time in 2 years. I’ve have owned exclusively ford and this model has been a near nightmare. I get my cars serviced regularly so it’s definitely not due to lack of maintenance but instead seems as if the 2022 bronco sport model was tainted from the manufacturer.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS

In 2022 I bought my bronco and took it in for the transmission going into the wrong gear and coming out of park. They said yes that’s happening and did something with the programming. It continued to run funny and have occasional issues with shifting which I assumed was in my head. Yesterday however I found out it wasn’t. I turned my bronco on and put it in reverse but it just started reviving and didn’t move so I tried drive same thing so I turned it off then back on all of a sudden it made a bang and lunged into reverse in front of a car and I almost got hit. I also when to pull out a few weeks prior and my car didn’t go and I almost got hit. Today my bronco stalled on the highway I was able to coast off the road but it then sounded like a chainsaw and wouldn’t go into any gear so I had it towed. I get the three chance rule however I feel like in the case due to repeated and extensive safety concern they need to do something. I also am not the only 2022 bronco owner with these exact issues as I found others on online forums with the same things.

I originally submitted a claim in November before I received the diagnostic report back on my trasmission, so this is the updated information. On November 1, 2024, I was driving to work and my transmission failed. I service my car very regularly at the same Ford dealership and they know how much I drive, so I always listen their recommendations for matienance. I did take my to a transmission specialist to rebuild my transmission as well as diagnose the mode of failure for my transmission. When I asked him whether it was wear and tear or something else, he told me he did not believe that it was wear and tear and that it was due to something internally coming off and overtime hitting my transmission gears and overtime it was starting to hit some of the lower gears and by that time my transmission failed. This is a somewhat newer car. I have spend almost $5000 just to rebuild my tranmission on a two year old car. There is no way for me to be able to anticipate this happening, it sounds like a manufacter defect to have something come off internally. The only way to diagnose it as well is to take apart the transmission which alone costs hundreds of dollars. I did reach out to the service shop to get a written statement of what happened from the techinican. If there is anything else I need to support my case, please let me know.

Many Bronco Sports have had this loud roaring in the rear and Ford had several patches to this issue, but none fixed the issue. Ford instructed the dealership to not attempt any more remedies to this repair until Ford had a "fix". After calling the dealership for months about the "fix" Ford was suppose have before the 4th quarter of 2024, but did not, now does not want to repair these vehicles under the warranty when the issue started and was bought to their attention. They have since stated that the repair is to replace the rear rotors and brakes as they had bearings that were coming apart causing this noise, but does not want to honor this repair. The dealership was well aware of the issue and could only advise me and others to please be patient until Ford approved a remedy for this issue, which me and many others did. We just want this to be a recall so that it can be covered as this could have caused serious issues had this part come apart upon driving or locking up and cause an accident.

What is the problem? Battery failure after receiving recall 25V019 notice. I was informed in February 2024 that my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport was affected by a battery recall, but that the remedy was not yet available. The battery subsequently failed in April, requiring a paid replacement out of pocket ($313.99). I have attempted to get reimbursement from both the Ford dealership and Ford corporate. Each party continues to deny responsibility and refers me back to the other. Why is this a safety concern? Battery failure left me stranded, requiring a tow. Had I been driving under different conditions (e.g., rural roads or at night), this could have created serious safety risks. The lack of resolution from Ford raises concern about their accountability regarding known defects. What action do you want NHTSA to take? I would like NHTSA to investigate Ford’s failure to reimburse for a known recall issue and hold them accountable for not honoring the recall protection as outlined in federal safety standards.

Since the BRAND NEW PURCHASE after ordering our 2022 Bronco Sport, as you REVERSE, BACK UP, it makes a LOUD METAL to METAL rubbing noise to be heard 50 to 100 YARDS away. Anytime especially mornings & mid-day it is so LOUD. Ford dealers are tired of me coming in complaining about the NOISE as they tell me FORD IS AWARE! FORD IS AWARE! They tell me Please stop asking about this 3 YEAR OLD problem as of August 2022 FORD is AWARE and knows about it but every time I look into this LOUD NOISE PROBLEM I am getting a run around! This sound is starting to worry us as it's NOT BRAKES as FORD DEALERSHIPS has checked our BRONCO SPORT Brakes and tell us YES IT'S LOUD but we don't know what the 2022 BRONCO SPORT issue is. ARE WE SAFE? Three years now we have dealt with this issue. Wiekert Ford in Lake Wales Florida and AutoNation Ford in St. Petersburg Florida both tell us we don't know. Wiekert Ford keeps saying we are Not aware of this PROBLEM & AutoNation Ford just SHOWS me the FORD DISCLAIMER that FORD is aware of BUT NOTHING is being done about this LOUD noise? Please help me out, NHTSA are we safe? Is FORD doing anything about these 2022 BRONCO SPORT vehicles? Please advise! Thank you

While parking in a parking lot of a local store I pulled into a spot and stopped about 2 feet from a bumper post. I removed my foot from the brake pedal to pull closer to the post. The car began to idle forward. When I was as close to the post as I intended I stepped on the brake. The car continued to idle forward until I hit the post causing very minor damage to the hood of my car. After hitting the post I was stopped. I put the car in reverse and took my foot off the brake. The vehicle did not moved so i touched the gas intending to back up a foot or so. The car picked up speed. I braked, but the car continued to pick up speed. I pressed harder on the brake, feeling as though I was standing on it. The car did not stop nor slow down. While feeling as though I was standing on the brake the car sped up I would estimate to 5-7 mph. I traveled straight back across the drive lane and continued to back into the parking spot behind me and hit the bumper in that parking causing damage to my lift gate and miscellaneous electrical components and the rear bumper. I have a repair estimate for $3400.00. I reported to the store personnel, the local police, and was examined by emergency medical. It was determined there was no damage to store property and medical personnel found my blood pressure was mildly elevated and the I felt slightly disoriented, but otherwise tested normal. I can only surmise that this was a temporary software malfunction. Braking has returned to normal. I talked to a ford dealer's Rep and he did not know what could have caused it. He also advised I could have diagnostics started for $278.00. I could not afford it at that time. Please note that the police officer said i could pick up the police report, but i have not done so. The water pump began leaking somewhere around 62,000 miles, however there were no visible signs of a leak and no maintenance warnings appeared on the dashboard. I only know there was a leak because I took my Bronco Sport into the Ford dealership to have other recalls repaired and they advised me to have the water pump replaced as it was leaking. I have researched this issue and it appears to be a very common issue with Bronco Sports of all years. This issue can put others or myself at risk because it would be very easy for the engine to run out of coolant and seize up in potentially very dangerous traffic situations. Because Ford doesn't have a way for Bronco Sport drivers to come aware of this issue unless vigilantly checking coolant levels every week, it would be very easy for the engine to overheat and stall before the driver can become aware there was even an issue.

On [XXX], the vehicle overheated during a commute, resulting in a blown radiator cap and an empty engine coolant reservoir. Coolant levels had been properly maintained up to that point. The following day, engine coolant was again low, though no visible leaks were found. On April 12, I requested warranty service but was told “services aren’t rendered on Saturdays” despite the service department being open. An appointment was scheduled for April 14 to inspect the overheating damage and address recall #25502. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) When I arrived on April 14, I was denied service due to the department being “backed up and understaffed.” I expressed concern about further driving the car in its condition, but Service Advisor Bill Crovo insisted it was safe to drive and denied my request to leave the vehicle on-site. I was also not offered a complimentary vehicle or alternative transportation. On April 17, I called to escalate the matter. The General Service Manager, Chris Gagnon, not only dismissed my concerns but stated he could refuse service on a vehicle that is clearly under active warranty coverage. This is not only unprofessional — it is illegal under Massachusetts consumer protection law. At this point, I was forced to seek help from other dealerships, one of which advised me to pressure the selling dealership to fulfill its obligation. I called back, and Mr. Gagnon assured me the issue would be handled. The vehicle was taken in on April 18, and the water pump was replaced. On April 24, I picked it up and drove just 21 miles before the engine began making an unfamiliar noise and the coolant reservoir was, once again, empty. I got the vehicle towed to a different dealership, Salem Ford in New Hampshire. The second dealership confirmed — in writing — that the first dealership skipped a critical step during the water pump replacement, directly causing the continued issue.

Bought in 2022 and noticed immediatly - Daytona Ford made modification to brakes on a brand new car - and to date still hearing the same noise. I have had it in multiple times and have asked to have someone listen to the brakes and stated they cannot replicate. It's so loud now that it's embarrassing to drive and only has 26k miles. It makes a moaning noise like a dying whale or something. I have an appointment on Monday with Ford in Durham - so lets see what they say about the constant loud and ongoing noises with the rear brakes.

I was trying to park my vehicle and it started blinking and saying park is not available, vehicle is not in park. Place the park brake before exiting the vehicle. I was on a downward slope, so I found an area where it was flat and tried to restart my vehicle, but it was doing the same thing. I had to go to work, so I parked my car and placed the brake on. Later I went out on lunch and the car wouldn't start. I had to call a tow truck because Ford refused to come tow my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport or give me a loaner. The next day after Ford replaced my battery, they told me my car now had transmission issues that were not there before I had a dead battery. I know there is a recall on the 12v battery, but a remedy has not yet been issued and many customers are suffering. I asked about the recall or my warranty and I was basically laughed at because I have too many miles on my car. Why is a vehicle manufacturer able to continuly sell recalled vehicles and leave lives at stake for a recall that can end up killing someone?

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST

We have, since buying the vehicle new in 2022, experienced sporadic severe lane keeping assist OVER Correction or dangerously aggressive correction both when there is not an actual lane crossing and no correction is needed and when slightly drifting over lines on the outer right side of roadways. The severe jerking /over correction has caused the vehicle to go OFF of the shoulder of the road in many incidents OR to go into oncoming traffic lane. When we had the recall performed that was meant to reprogram the pcm we were told that "hopefully your issues with that will be resolved" . They were not and have continued for as long as we've had the vehicle. This phenomenon is not able to be reproduced under any specific circumstances nor does an error display when this happens, therefore cannot get diagnosed by dealer service Dept. This has not yet, but has come very close to causing accidents, one particularly frightening instance the vehicle was unnecessarily jerked off the side of a 2 lane road with a narrow shoulder that dropped off into forest. A similar incident the vehicle was unnecessarily and spontaneously jerked again to the shoulder of the road where I was almost thrown into a ditch next to a farm field. This could put drivers and passengers at risk of otherwise preventable accidents. These occurrences typically occur when roadways are not perfectly straight with bends or curves on the roadway OR in busy traffic at higher speeds ( such as city interstates)

To: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE Washington, DC 20590 Subject: Complaint Regarding Ford's Handling of Battery Recall (Recall 25S02 / 24S24) Dear NHTSA, I’m writing out of growing frustration and serious concern over how Ford is handling, or rather, not handling, the battery recall affecting my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. My vehicle is part of the battery recall (25S02 and 24S24), which clearly states that affected batteries could swell, fail, or even lead to power loss. That’s exactly what’s happened to mine. The battery in my vehicle is swollen and defective, and now the car won’t start at all. It’s not just an inconvenience, it’s a safety issue. I’ve called several local Ford dealerships trying to get the battery replaced, but none of them have helped me. I’ve also reached out to Ford’s customer service line multiple times, and I’ve been given the runaround every time, told to call a dealer, told it’s not covered, or simply dismissed. Plus, they told me that I should contact the NHTSA to lodge a formal complaint. It’s incredibly frustrating to be stuck like this when there’s an active recall for this exact issue. The battery is visibly swollen, and I’m worried this could become dangerous if it continues to degrade. At this point, I feel like Ford is ignoring its responsibility to fix a known safety defect, and I’m left without a working vehicle, and no clear path forward. Please look into this. I don’t believe I’m the only one experiencing this issue, and the fact that Ford is refusing to replace a clearly defective part under an open recall is unacceptable. Vehicle VIN: [XXX] Phone: [XXX] Email: [XXX] Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, [XXX] Sanford, NC INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS

The collision warning alert goes of sporadically at the most random times when there is actually no threat at all around the vehicle. This will cause (as it is intended to do) the driver to reactively fully apply the break quickly, which could cause injury such as whiplash in an unnecessary event or worst case a rear end collision. This has happened when driving down straight roads with no other vehicles. This has happened when going around bends in the road. This has also happened when driving next to things like corn fields, through forestry areas, next to road signs, etc. No error message occurs or anything and this does not seem to have a specific environment for reproduction. Simply just happens randomly.

POWER TRAIN

On April 8th 2025 our vehicle went into "limp mode" for the third time in 6 months. The previous incidents were part of an active recall and we're repaired by a does dealership. This time it is supposedly the failure of a fuel pump sensor causing the issue (per ford service diagnosis) which they say is NOT covered by fords recall nor is it covered under any warranty and must be paid for out of pocket. This repeat occurrence has caused our vehicle to stall in traffic not just when at stops but also just when turning or pulling onto streets or highway. This has happened while crossing busy streets putting the lives of our family at RISK MULTIPLE times. Ford refuses to pay for rental vehicles while our vehicle has been in repair for this issue and also while the vehicle is in an unsafe condition to drive. This also causes undo hardship for our family as we are not able to pay for a rental vehicle for extended amounts of time while our vehicle is in an unsafe state. I am highly concerned that Ford is trying to "wash their hands" of this vehicle and avoid true remedy the overwhelming evidence of problems of these vehicles. I have included the previous invoices for the recall repairs that caused this. I have not yet received the invoice for the repair being done currently as of 4/17/2025 .There are additional safety issues we've encountered with the "safety features" of the vehicle that i will be submitting separately.

The electrical components in my dashboard and computer system are shutting off while I am driving. “Charging System Service Soon” alert pops up but I have had my battery checked multiple times. The glitches are inconsistent and can happen 1-20 times during a 30 minute drive. When it glitches, I can not see my speedometer or anything else on my dash. It occasionally turns off my slippery mode, it almost stalled once and occasionally my steering wheel locks up. I reached out to 10-15 dealerships near the Detroit Metro areas and none of them have rental cars to provide me to assist with diagnosis. They all tell me if it’s part of the 12V battery degradation recall they can’t do anything until the remedy comes out. But that is reported as Q2 at the earliest. This is my only mode of transportation and it is a huge safety risk.

I was approaching a stop light which turned green and as i slowed down my vehicle's power stopped. The vechicle notice said shift to park. I had to turn the car off - in the middle of a busy road - and turn it back on. it took a couple of tries. This was incredibly dangerous as cars almost hit me as the light was green. Ford knows about this recall but just sent us a notice saying to keep drving it but "be careful" and they will get a fix in the next quarter. I must drive but i do not feel like it is safe. why are people allowed to drive these cars that they know are in danger of stalling. They should all be told to stop driving these cars and give them a replacement until they can get it fixed. I have had to have the battery replaced in this vehicle several months ago despite very low mileage because the car would not start and it seems to be related to this same 12v battery issue. I frequently get "critical battery" notices from the vehicle even when I'm not in it.

The vehicle has strong exhaust fumes inside. It has gotten so bad people at work smell it on me. I even went to the doctor because I was trying to fall asleep while driving, I am confused when I first arrive places, my lungs feel like I am inhaling fire, I have the most painful headaches, and I am nauseous around the times I drive my car. My two girls are experiencing the same problems. But if we do not drive the Bronco on the weekends, no problems. My husband put it on the life at home and there are bolts missing from the dust shield, the ones there are loose, he had to tighten the bolts on the heads, and the convertor has “hot spots” on it. I have to drive at all times with a window down. The exhaust fumes can be smelled from outside as well. I have taken it to the dealer and was told there was no smell. I am scared at this point to drive it.

POWER TRAIN

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the dealer had previously repaired the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V267000 (Electrical System, Power Train); however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle required a jumpstart to start, and while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine and another unknown warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the second dealer, Babbitt Ford (11 N Verde St, Flagstaff, AZ 86001), who updated the PCM software and replaced the canister purge valve (CPV), but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to Walmart and the battery was replaced. The failure persisted. The vehicle was towed back to the first dealer, who checked the battery and informed the contact that the battery had not failed. The contact was also informed that she had to pay for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

STEERING

First the battery was drained and needed replaced. Then message on center navigation screen displays “System Off to Save Battery. Please turn ignition off or start engine” when entering the car before trying to start it. Then I was notified of a recall that needed to be done. The recall was for “the body control module bcm and powertrain control module pcm calibrations may be unable to detect a sudden change in the 12-VOLT battery state of charge during a drive cycle.” The safety risk of this recall was as follows: “If the bcm and pcm calibrations are unable to detect a sudden battery degradation during a drive, the vehicle may be unable to restart after an auto stopstart event or may experience a stall while coming to a stop at low speed. The vehicle may also lose 12-VOLT accessories, including hazard lights. A loss of motive power can increase the risk of a crash.” The Ford Service Center did a software update to resolve this recall. Then the car started displaying a message on the dashboard front screen “Charging System Service Soon” and the battery light would be on. I also got a notification from my Ford app saying “Charge System Fault” “Indicates that there is a 12V charging system fault”.The car was taken to the Ford Service Center immediately and they said it just needed reprogrammed. The issue seemed to be solved on the short 5 minute drive home. The next day the car displayed the same “System Off to Save Battery” message on the middle navigation screen and “ Charging System Service Soon” message on the front dashboard screen. While driving the entire front dashboard electrical system turned off right after flashing multiple messages “front camera & pre collision assist not available”, no headlights and power steering went out, This happens randomly but happens every single time the car is driven. It is no longer safe to drive at night with no lights and no way to see any displays. Ford has been contacted with no response and service center will not see it.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

The electrical system seemed to be experiencing temporary failure at stop lights. It initially seemed to be associated with the auto start/stop feature. However, one day the system would turn on (dash, radio, and air) however the engine would not turn over. The 3rd main incident was after purchasing a new battery (one week after doing so, to be exact) and the car wouldn't even open with a key fob. Everything was dead and the system said it only had a 20% charge left after being jumped and driven. My safety was at risk as I have a long commute and had the first battery incident happen nearly 1.5 hours from my home. My safety was also at risk for each of the three times that my car stalled at red lights, not knowing why or how to retart my car during heavily trafficked times. When stating my issues to the dealership (I've been having the stalling at lights issue for 5 months) they brushed the facts aside. When telling them my battery was dead after it being a week old, they said it was probably installed wrong (even though battery was replaced at reputable establishment and not personally installed) The issues started around August or September. I had called the dealership (as I've had all work done at the dealership I purchased the vehicle from other than the replacement battery). The engine light was on the time I was stranded at work (when I was able to get the radio on, but not able to get the engine to turn over). Shortly before the complete power failure, I had a "charging system error" light flash on and disappear. All of these issues were brought to the attention of the dealership in a timely manner. I had assumed they were related to the last recall that was in July, but I was given generic and un-sympathetic or relevant answers and was told I'd just have to keep paying diagnostic fees each time there was an issue and for each separate issue, even thought they all seemed centered around electrical/power issues.

The rear hatch on the Bronco Sport will intermittently open up if towing a trailer and traversing a driveway apron. The pressure from the trailer hitch is causing the rear hatch door latch to spring open. It’s also happened infrequently without the trailer attached.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I had a recall for “computer module programming done by Ford on my 2022 Bronco sport 38k miles on [XXX]. The next day my car shut off while at a light not auto/start on off. But sputtered and lost power. The next day it would not start right away. On [XXX] I parked at my children’s school in a temporary spot. Went to back up and my car was stuck trying to turn in and off for a solid 10 minutes. There was also a burning smell of something. No smoke. I finally could turn it off quickly randomly and then it would not start again. We jumped it by tow truck and took it home because the dealership said at 3 years 38k miles it was not under warranty. So my husband took the battery out and had it tested. It tested 100% at Autozone an hour later. Whatever recall they preformed caused my car to drain the battery or lost power. No way a car with only 38k miles and maintenance done every time at Ford regularly should even have a problem like this. It’s so frustrating. I hope they fix this problem and find a solution for us customers. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
