2014 FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA Complaints and Recall Information
The 2014 FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA has 0 complaints and 6 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to various vehicle systems as identified in the recall data. There are no individual complaints from owners outside of recall-related defects.
Six recalls address defects in several vehicle components including braking, air bag systems, and electronic controls. These recalls cover a broad range of safety-critical systems.
Recalls- Brake fluid reservoir cap. NHTSA recall 22V536000 affects 23,555 vehicles. The reservoir cap may fail to vent properly creating a vacuum inside the brake fluid reservoir. This can cause a brake fluid leak leading to partial or total brake failure, increasing crash risk. Ferrari dealers will replace the cap and update software to provide a low brake fluid warning. Interim and full owner notifications were sent in 2022.
- Passenger air bag inflator. Under recall 19V006000, 11,176 vehicles are affected. The passenger frontal air bag inflators may explode due to propellant degradation from humidity and temperature changes. This explosion can send metal fragments into occupants causing serious injury or death. Ferrari will replace the passenger air bag assembly at no cost. Owner notifications began in 2019.
- Wheel bolts. The recall covers 1,877 units for defective bolts that may fracture and cause wheel detachment. Ferrari dealers will inspect and replace the wheel bolts as needed. This defect poses a risk of loss of vehicle control and crashes.
- Electronic control unit (ECU) programming. Programming errors in the ECU affect about 1,664 vehicles and may cause engine stalling or failure. The recall involves reprogramming the ECU to prevent such events, which can impair vehicle operation and increase crash risk.
- Fuel system components. Approximately 1,299 cars face issues with fuel pump or line defects causing fuel leaks. Leaks increase fire risks. Dealers will replace defective parts free of charge to eliminate the hazard.
- Fuel tank vent valve. Defects in the vent valve affect about 1,185 vehicles. Improper venting could cause fuel vapor leaks, raising fire risk. Ferrari will replace the valve under the recall campaign.
Owners of the 2014 FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA subject to repeated defects or unresolved recall repairs may want to explore their rights under state lemon laws. Addressing safety-related issues promptly is critical for vehicle reliability and occupant protection.
