- Recalls
- Fuel system. Recall 14V566 affects 6,759 vehicles equipped with Cummins ISB or ISL engines that may stall unexpectedly due to a defective Fleetguard fuel filter. The risk is increased crash chance from sudden engine stalls. Dealers will replace the fuel filter free of charge.
- Tire pressure labels. Recall 16V327 affects 727 chassis with incorrect tire pressure ratings of 130 psi instead of 120 psi. Over-pressurized tires risk rim failure and crashes. Corrected labels were provided, but motorhome owners are not notified directly.
- Power steering hose routing. Recall 18V163 covers 9,480 vehicles where incorrectly routed hoses may rub starter motor studs, causing electrical arcing and power steering fluid leaks. Fire risk exists. Dealers reroute hoses free of charge.
- Front stabilizer bar mounts. Recall 16V208 affects 822 motorhome chassis with mounting brackets that may bend or loosen. If the sway bar detaches, vehicle handling worsens and crash risk increases. Repairs involve mounting modifications.
- Service brakes. Recall 16V204 covers 2,989 chassis where brake activation signals to trailers may fail to deactivate, causing brake drag, overheating, and fire hazard. It also confuses following drivers. Dealers modify brake assemblies free of charge.
- Accelerator pedal sensor. Recall 16V321 affects 2,275 chassis with sensors that may not return to zero, suddenly disabling the engine brake and reducing deceleration. This raises crash risk. Dealers replace the throttle pedal free of charge.
- Steering boxes. Recall 16V366 involves 1,385 vehicles with incorrect internal spacers in steering boxes that cause premature wear. Steering wheel connection may fail suddenly, increasing crash risk. Owners are advised not to drive until inspection and repair are done.
- Service brakes adjustment. Recall 16V654 affects 1,881 chassis with heavier, adjustable straight foot pedals causing similar brake signal issues as recall 16V204. Risks include brake drag, fire, and crash potential. Brake assemblies will be modified for free.
Owners with repeated repairs related to these safety defects or unresolved recall issues may have rights under their state’s lemon law and should consider consulting a consumer protection attorney.

TIRES
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 FCCC XCR chassis manufactured May 12, 2014, to December 10, 2015. The incomplete vehicle document (IVD) labels incorrectly list the tire pressures as 130 psi in the steer and tag axle positions rather than the correct rating of 120psi.
Risk: If the tire is inflated to the incorrect PSI on the label, the rims may suddenly fail due to being over pressurized, increasing the risk of a crash.

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) XCM, XCR, and XCL motorhome chassis manufactured December 21, 2012, to December 22, 2015. On certain motorhome chassis built with a heavier, adjustable, straight foot pedal, the brake activation signal to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released.
Risk: If the brake activation signal to a towed device remains active when the motorhome chassis service brakes are released, the brakes on a towed device may remain engaged depending on brake configuration of the trailer. As a result, the brakes would drag and possibly overheat potentially resulting in a fire. Additionally, following drivers may be confused by the motorhome's actions, increasing the risk of a crash.
