The recalls for the 2015 FCCC XCL address defects in critical vehicle systems including the fuel system, suspension, steering, brakes, and speed control. The repairs involve component replacements, inspections, and adjustments to eliminate safety risks.
- Fuel system defect. Recall 14V566000 affects 6,759 vehicles. The fuel filter shell may separate from the nut plate causing engine stall without warning, increasing crash risk. The fix involves replacing the fuel filter free of charge.
- Suspension mounting bolts. Recall 18V442000 impacts 512 vehicles. Bolts may be loose, risking track bar detachment which impairs handling and stability. Dealers will inspect and tighten bolts at no cost.
- Power steering hose routing. Recall 18V163000 covers 9,480 vehicles. Incorrect hose routing may cause rubbing, electrical arcing, and fluid leaks increasing fire risk. The hose will be rerouted by dealers free of charge.
- Front stabilizer bar brackets. Recall 16V208000 affects 822 vehicles. Incorrect fitment may cause sway bar bolts to bend or loosen, risking detachment and crash. Dealers will modify mounting brackets free of charge.
- Service brakes electric signal. Recall 16V204000 impacts 2,989 vehicles. Brake signal to towed devices may not deactivate, causing dragged brakes that could overheat and potentially start a fire. Affected brake assemblies will be modified free of charge.
- Accelerator pedal sensor. Recall 16V321000 involves 2,275 vehicles. The pedal sensor may fail to return to zero, causing sudden engine brake loss and reducing deceleration. Dealers will replace the throttle pedal free of charge.
- Steering box defect. Recall 16V366000 covers 1,385 vehicles and includes a Do Not Drive advisory. Incorrect spacers in steering boxes can cause steering connection failure and sudden loss of steering ability. Inspections and replacements will be done free of charge.
- Brake activation signal. Recall 16V654000 affects 1,881 vehicles. Similar to 16V204000, brake signals may fail to deactivate, risking brake drag and fire. Dealers will modify brake assemblies at no cost.
Owners with repeated repairs, unresolved recall repairs, or safety defects may have rights under their state lemon law. Consulting a consumer protection attorney specializing in lemon law could be helpful in these situations.

STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2011-2017 Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) XBR, XCL, XCM, and XCR recreational vehicle chassis, equipped with Cummins ISL engines. The power steering hose on the affected vehicles may be routed incorrectly, and, as a result, the hose may rub against the power stud on the starter motor, possibly causing electrical arcing and a power steering fluid leak.
Risk: Electrical arcing in the presence of leaking power steering fluid can increase the risk of a fire.

512 vehicles affected
SUSPENSION
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) XCL Chassis equipped with V-Ride suspension. The suspension mounting bolts may have been insufficiently tightened, which can result in the bolts loosening.
Risk: If the mounting bolts loosen, the track bars that maintain the positioning of the rear axle may detach, affecting the vehicle's handling and stability and increasing the risk of a crash.
2015 FCCC XCL
1881 vehicles affected
SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) XCM, XCR, and XCL motorhome chassis manufactured December 21, 2012, to December 22, 2015. On certain motorhome chassis built with a heavier, adjustable, straight foot pedal, the brake activation signal to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released.
Risk: If the brake activation signal to a towed device remains active when the motorhome chassis service brakes are released, the brakes on a towed device may remain engaged depending on brake configuration of the trailer. As a result, the brakes would drag and possibly overheat potentially resulting in a fire. Additionally, following drivers may be confused by the motorhome's actions, increasing the risk of a crash.

STEERING
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 FCCC XBP, XBR, XCM, XCR, XCL, and XCP trucks manufactured May 1, 2014, to June 16, 2015, equipped with certain ZF RL77 / 80EM independent front steering axles equipped with Bosch 8018 steering boxes. The boxes were manufactured using incorrect internal spacers that can cause premature wear in the connection between the steering wheel and the front axle.
Risk: The steering wheel's connection to the front axle could fail resulting in a sudden loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash.
2015 FCCC XCL
2275 vehicles affected
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 FCCC XCL, XCM, XCP, and XCR motorhome chassis manufactured January 23, 2012, to April 10, 2014. The throttle pedal position sensor on the affected vehicles may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to suddenly not activate as expected, reducing the vehicle's deceleration ability.
Risk: A sudden loss of an engine brake without warning on a motorhome may lead to a reduced brake ability, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
2015 FCCC XCL
2989 vehicles affected
SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC
Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 FCC XCS, XCM, XCR, XCL, XCP, XBS, XBR, and XBP trucks manufactured from January 7, 2013, through June 1, 2015. On certain motorhome chassis built with a heavier, adjustable, offset, foot pedal, the brake activation signal to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released.
