Recalls
  • Tire valve stem extension damage. Recall 21V921000 affects 16,676 vehicles. The inner wheel valve stem extension may contact the outer wheel rim opening and become damaged, risking tire pressure loss and possible crashes. Dealers will remove inner valve stem extensions and stabilizers free of charge. Owner notifications were mailed beginning January 18, 2022. This recall supersedes and expands recall 20V529000.
  • Tire valve stem extension damage. Recall 20V529000 applies to 10,359 vehicles. The inner tire valve stem extension can contact the outer wheel rim causing damage and loss of tire pressure, increasing crash risk. Dealers inspect and adjust or replace the valve as needed at no cost. The recall began October 29, 2020.
  • Air brake system gauge misconnection. Recall 18V677000 affects 58 vehicles. Primary and secondary air pressure lines were reversed, causing incorrect air pressure readings on the gauges. This misconnection may confuse drivers and increase crash risk. Dealers will inspect and correct the line connections free of charge. The recall started November 2, 2018.

Owners dealing with repeated repairs, unresolved recall issues, or safety defects should review their state’s lemon law provisions. Legal protections may apply for persistent vehicle problems or defective safety systems.

SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2017-2019 FCCC MC motorhome chassis. The primary air line was incorrectly connected to the secondary air pressure gauge and the secondary air line was connected to the primary air pressure gauge. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Risk: In the event of a failure of one of the two air systems, an incorrect air pressure reading may occur, confusing the driver, therefore increasing the risk of a crash.
