The contact owns a 1990 Fleetwood Southwind RV equipped with a 650 AMP Everstart battery, Model Number: 1162993, Manufactured Date: May 2024. The contact stated while driving 50-60 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal popping sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that the battery had exploded, and the battery acid fluid had splashed over unknown parts of the vehicle. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to the next stop. The contact stated that upon attempting to restart the vehicle later, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that the battery acid fluid had damaged the other parts of the vehicle. Walmart was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure because the manufacturer was unreachable. The battery was not replaced. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 84,000. The battery failure mileage was 700.
