I have had this car seat since December 25,2023 and the seatbelt has frayed along the right thigh area. There has been no incorrect use of this seat. This is very concerning for safety and is supposed to last my child for years to come but now am unable to use.

The contact stated that while attempting to install the car seat, he became aware that where the restraint straps wrapped underneath the car seat leg rest, the material was frayed and had started to tear. The contact attributed the failure to the sharp-edged hard plastic that the straps passed through. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that small rodents had likely chewed away the material of the straps. After a thorough inspection, the contact was unable to identify evidence that rodents were inside the vehicle. The manufacturer provided no further assistance.

Child vomited in car seat. I removed cover to clean it and noticed seatbelt is torn in three places! It appears to have rubbed against some of the seam on the padding and slowly ripped.

I am writing to formally report a serious safety concern regarding my Evenflo Revolve 360 Car Seat, which has developed a significant defect. The harness on the car seat is approximately ¾ torn, compromising its ability to safely secure my child. This issue was discovered despite the fact that we have always stored and installed the car seat properly, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Additionally, we do not allow our child to have toys or food in the seat, ensuring that no external factors could have caused this damage. Upon contacting Evenflo regarding the defect, we were met with dismissal and were told that we must have caused the damage ourselves. This response is both frustrating and unacceptable, as the integrity of the harness is critical for my child’s safety. Given that car seat failures can have life-threatening consequences, I am deeply concerned that other parents may also be unknowingly using compromised seats. I have seen a few parents with this finding when googling the issue. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue, as a failure of the harness could lead to serious injury or fatality in the event of an accident. Please advise on the next steps regarding potential recalls, inspections, or other actions that should be taken to ensure the safety of children using Evenflo products. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your response. If you require additional information, including photos or serial numbers of the car seat, I would be happy to provide them.
