Recalls
  • Wheelchair lift interlock. (NHTSA 10V351000) Affects 1167 vehicles. The interlock feature on Ricon public use wheelchair lifts may fail, allowing the lift to operate without the buckle being latched. This could cause the wheelchair to move during operation, risking injury. Ricon provides a warning decal and training DVD to remedy the defect.
  • Wheelchair lift software defect. (NHTSA 10V352000) Affects 457 vehicles. Defective software may cause the lift to continue upward travel for about one second after the switch is released, potentially causing the platform to stop at a dangerous angle. This risks wheelchair tipping and falls. Authorized Ricon dealers perform the repairs and provide training aids to owners.
  • Wheel well profile. (NHTSA 10V370000) Affects 246 vehicles. An incorrect wheel well cutout reduces clearance between rubber molding screws and tires, leading to possible tire failure. Dealers inspect and modify the wheel well profile and replace fasteners free of charge.
  • Air conditioner fuse holder. (NHTSA 11V243000) Affects 4333 vehicles. Fuse holders on Carrier GENV EM-1 evaporator units may loosen and create arcing, with a fire risk. Carrier supplies a retrofit kit and repair instructions at no cost.
  • Wheelchair lift roll stop latch. (NHTSA 12V356000) Affects 2215 vehicles. Roll stop latches on Braun Century-2 and Vista-2 lifts may bend or misalign with use, allowing the roll stop to be defeated. This risks falls from elevated lifts. Dealers repair affected vehicles free of charge.
  • Wheelchair lift platform side plate. (NHTSA 14V610000) Affects 178 vehicles. Side plates on certain Ricon wheelchair lifts may crack, causing the platform to separate and fall when the lift door opens. Owners are notified to have supplemental support bumpers installed or cracked platforms replaced.
  • Wheelchair lift folding link arms. (NHTSA 15V750000) Affects 2978 vehicles. The link arms may have oversized pivot holes allowing bearings to move out of place, causing excessive platform movement and potential failure. Ricon inspects and replaces damaged components free of charge. This recall covers lifts previously addressed in 2014 but still affected.

Owners confronting repeated repairs, unresolved recall issues, or safety defects with the 2010 ELDORADO TRANSTECH might have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting a consumer protection attorney could clarify potential remedies.
