2015 E-ONE QUEST Complaints and Recall Information

The 2015 E-ONE QUEST has 0 complaints and 6 recalls filed with NHTSA. Owners most frequently report issues related to recalls rather than consumer complaints given the absence of complaint records.

There are six recalls affecting various systems on the 2015 E-ONE QUEST. These recalls involve critical components such as air bags, front suspension, and firefighting equipment. The recalls target safety and functionality issues that require dealer inspection and repair.

Recalls
  • Air bags. NHTSA recall 15V646000 affects 18 vehicles. Some vehicles left the factory with disconnected front air bag harness, which prevents air bag deployment in crashes and raises injury risk. Dealers will inspect and connect the harness as needed and test the system free of charge. Owners were not issued letters since all affected units have been repaired.
  • Front suspension shocks. NHTSA recall 19V598000 covers 57 trucks from 2014-2019. The front shocks may separate from their upper mount, risking damage to the steering gear housing, potential steering fluid leaks and loss of power steering assist, increasing crash risk. Dealers install new hardware and shims to secure shocks at no cost. Recall began August 2019.
  • Lower front suspension ball joints. Recall 17V231000 involves 29 vehicles from 2014-2016. Ball joints on front suspension modules can loosen and separate, leading to partial loss of steering control and crash risk. Dealers inspect, clean, and secure ball joints free of charge since May 2017.
  • Upper front suspension ball joints. Same recall 17V231000 also covers the upper ball joints on 29 vehicles with identical defect and remedy as the lower ball joints.
  • Water pump pressure relief valve rings. Recall 17V739000 affects 298 vehicles from 2013-2017. Corrosion may cause valve securing rings to fail, opening the pressure relief valve and reducing firefighting water pressure, raising injury risk by hindering firefighting. Dealers install stainless steel retaining rings free of charge since January 2018.
  • Aerial ladder hydraulic filter. Recall 16V801000 concerns 196 trucks from 2014-2016. A design change causes the aerial ladder’s hydraulic fluid filter to leak, risking aerial device malfunction and injury. Dealers inspect and replace the filter and head assembly as needed at no cost. Recall began November 2016.

Owners with repeated repairs or ongoing issues related to these safety defects may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting with a legal professional familiar with lemon law may provide guidance on available options.

EQUIPMENT

E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling certain 2013-2017 E-One Cyclone II, Quest, Typhoon, 2016 Freightliner M2 112, 2013-2015 International 7400, 2014-2017 International 4400, Freightliner M2 106, 2016-2017 Kenworth T370, and 2015 Kenworth T800 vehicles equipped with Hale pressure relief valves in the water pumps used for fire fighting. Rings securing the valves may corrode over time after exposure to water, causing the ring to fail and the pressure relief valve to open, reducing the water pressure available for fire fighting.

Risk: A reduction in water pressure may hinder fire fighting efforts, increasing the risk of injury.
