Recalls
  • Rear axle assembly. Recall 22V316000 affects 5 vehicles due to a fractured rear axle drive pinion. This defect may cause unintended parking brake engagement without brake lights activating, increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and replace the differential carrier housing assembly as needed free of charge.
  • Fuel injection system. Recall 21V630000 applies to 48 vehicles with Cummins L9 engines where a fuel rail sealing washer may not seat correctly causing fuel leaks. A fuel leak near ignition sources raises fire risk. Cummins will inspect and replace fuel rails if necessary at no cost.
  • Fire suppression system. Recall 21V628000 involves 12 vehicles with corroded fire water pump solenoids leading to loss of power to the pump control module. This failure can cause loss of water pressure for firefighting, raising injury risk. Spartan Fire LLC will replace the pump solenoid free of charge.
  • Electrical system. The same recall 21V628000 covers 12 vehicles where corrosion in the fire water pump solenoid also affects electrical power to the pump control module. Replacement of the solenoid will correct this issue at no cost to owners.
  • Hydraulic power steering pump. Recall 21V618000 impacts 8 vehicles where pressure buildup may break the shaft seal causing loss of power steering assist and increased crash risk. Spartan will replace the power steering pump free of charge. Notification schedule is pending.

Owners facing repeated repairs or unresolved safety-related recalls may have rights under their state’s lemon law. Consulting a consumer protection attorney may help in addressing ongoing defect or recall issues.
