The contact was provided a loaner Cosco Safety Seat, Model Type: Light N Comfy 22, Model Number: IC206CHZ, Manufactured Date: January 8, 2024. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact observed the right shoulder strap continuously falling off her child's shoulder, prompting her to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the strap was not secured to the back of the safety seat, reducing the effectiveness of the safety harness. The contact was unaware of the condition of the safety seat prior to use as it was a loaner from Hertz Rental Car. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated that Hertz Rental Car declined to replace the seat.

When adjusting the harness part of the seat the straps in front seem not to be measured right so when you try to make it tight the anchor that holds both straps stops it but there is still lack in the strap you pull at the bottom. So when having an infant in the car seat which it is made for you can't tighten it anymore to safely secure the infant. Also same brand and model and make car seat this harness doesn't stay secure in the anchor that holds the two straps as you pulling to adjust the straps it comes lose and comes off. Find your self in route and infant has pulled the strap free from the anchor.
